Why does Qantas persist with the unimpressive A180; aptly named because it goes into maintenance, comes out and then needs to do a 180 degree turn to go back into maintenance again.
Simply put, it now has cracks appearing in the rib leg attachments and this is after minor service life. Cancel the stupid, fat, only twin hydro piece of crap airbus and get some 747-8's instead. Oh, and when you hear from RR for engines, tell trent to suck the flying kangaroo's fat-one.
2 engines =less fuel burn.747-8 as well as for the a380 are only used on routes that will be high density markets the 787 is and will be used on thin long range routes where carriers will earn there best cost per mile...
I wonder how QANTAS can afford to purchase these new aircraft, as not too long ago, the only thing you saw on television was people complaining about flight delays and how they would not fly QANTAS again. With that much lost revenue, I don't know how QANTAS can even support itself now days.
that's why there giving Australian jobs away. fuck you Mr Joyce... he made a mockery of the Australian government... guess that's not that hard to do these days//// nice jet but aye...
20% more fuel efficient and when the fuel runs out in mid flight the wings Flap like a bird, making the safest aircraft around today...Thats a Fact...
@Qantas G'day... Well, there's a yarn about how a Camel is a Horse that was designed by a Committee of Experts. That appears to have happened to this... Visually, it's a "Hatful of Arseholes." The Forward Fuselage looks Droopy, not unlike the Super Guppy. The Wings Flap, & Bend, at Landing-Weight ; & the Ducts on the Fan-Jets seem Clumsy-Big... But, shining brightest is the fact that Farting Kerosene Fumes to catch the Clap in Bali is Passè. So, this is a Jet Pteradactyl.
@FLIGHTANIMATION Well it was a failure at first to get it right, yes its a nice plane, But i don't like when people bag Airbus when they are a fantastic aircraft with more advanced technology than Boeing, They are both great aircraft but they also both have their Pro's & Con's....People will love the A350XWB when it comes out....
@TheFsJunkie Wasn't the A380 delayed a few years also? I'm willing to bet the A350XWB will be delayed for some time as well. It hasn't even seen the production assembly line yet so what's the point of bragging about it?
Don't be a hater...give props where they're due. If you don't care for Boeing aircraft, what's the point of even watching this?
@Protoplasm78 I don't hate Boeing as i said in my prior post i like both Aircraft, Just Don't bag Airbus because remember, there the one's that Put Boeing to shame with their A380's & made Boeing look like a sack of potato's
But they are both really good engineered aircraft as good as eachother, Have an open mind & welcome both....
@FLIGHTANIMATION their A330-200's would be smaller, Shorter in length but cabin size would be the same. Jetstar & Virgin Australia also carry the fleet of the A330's
@TheFsJunkie I am very much aware of that, I do know my aircraft thanks :) But the 787 has been built to give it a spacious feel.... Jetstar, Virgin and Qantas would most likely have very different cabin layouts on there 200 variations...
varcolac I think that Qantas has ordered these aircraft to be a long haul aircraft for Jetstar and as a replacement to its ageing 767 fleet for Domestic runs. This does not mean that they will not order 747-8 in the future for its south east asia and possible future middle east runs from Australia
@upiluften the a340 had the a similar design to the a330 thats what made it fail because the only difference was the 2 extra engines and longer fuselage
@varcolac5 It didn't have a similar design. The whole fuselage was virtual the same except with some structural strengthening on the A340 to support more engine weight. The wing is almost the same except some changes the to accommodate the extra engines. The exterior of the tail is the same, except on the A340 the interior was used as a fuel tank for Long Haul OPs. It wasn't similar. It was the same.
wtf the engine 2 generation more advanced then current?

Please put this plane on QF 19 and QF 20 because the B787-8 can make Sydney to Manila route fuel efficient

I like how these new aircraft's are built to reduce the pollution they give off. Its good Boeing is thinking about the future of our planet.

@Qantas so you ordered the 787-8 but why didnt you order the 747-8
varcolac5 3 months ago 40
@varcolac5 787 uses less fuel and weight to power ratio is better
pranksfordays 3 months ago
@pranksfordays but in the 747-8 you can fit more passengers have more range and as always 4 engines are better than 2.

@varcolac5 Um.. That's what Airbus though with their A340 (4 engines 4 long haul), and now it's a dead program.

@varcolac5 The 787 has better fuel efficiency, can land on shorter runways than the 747-8, and is cheaper.

cst1908 4 weeks ago
@cst1908 the a380 is an oversized aircraft that only the most equipped airports can accomodate for.
varcolac5 4 weeks ago
@varcolac5 Because its still basically the same shape and model as the one they built in 1969 plus its bloody far too expensive to run!!!
