Guys you cant return the claw until you discover the secret of the barrow, see as when he tries to speak to lucan it only gives him 2 unrelated options, you cant sell it to him btw cos its a quest item

Fallout was one of the most awkward, horribly designed games I played at the time... The stupid watch interface, the voice acting, the environments...it was ALL THE SAME. Actually, if you turn in the golden claw as part of his side quest, then you get 400 gold, regardless of whether or not he has it in his inventory.
