the problem I have most building or decorating houses is the color for the walls or carpet. I had a house that was so terribly vibrant that it looked like a night club, but it was just a lady with 3 kids! I moved them out soon after that, but are there any tips you can give about choosing colors?

No, you have to have SIms 2. You don't need to download anything unless you want a different type of car.

Colours are awful, very big rooms, very big garden, and finally this all house is too BIG! I don't like it. Try another Sims 2 expansions like Bon Voyage (Chinese style!), Seasons, IKEA Home Design Stuff, Apartment's Live (you can building apartments) and Mansion and Garden Stuff (new architecture styles), there are a lot of fantastic elements for home (spiral stairs are totally awesome). You can build homes just from the dreams. Good luck and greetings!

You get pillars and staircases off the original game. If you wanted more staircases and pillars and other additions to your building tools, then that would be the time to buy an expansion pack. Hope I helped :)
