What the hell happened to Rush ??? They used to crank, and were creative. Even their synth days beats the shit out of this. At one time, Alex would play a lot more complex stuff on acoustic, now it's boring repetitive crap.

Alex is actually playing an acoustic twelve string here, an instrument he's not used much since the 70's. Sounds sweet, I say!

Alex is a different sort of guitarist. He very much has his own vocabulary on the instrument. Some people seem to underrate him because he isn't a shredder or an Eddie Van Halen. But when you analyze what he plays, how intelligently it's written, the guy's talent is really obvious. He is a big part of what makes Rush sound so unique.

Pretty much all the guitarists I have met have different styles and ways of playing. Even stage presence is different. It completely depends on what you listen as it influences it. Also, how you learn. Classical guitarists tend to have no stage presence. They can stand there and play amazing but it will look kinda dull. Also they just dont seem very raw. Its just a musical notation, written with math, no emotion. Kurt Cobain is an example of a not so technical but very raw style.

I don't know about best guitarist ever, but i think he's the best acoustic guitarist, he is much better at acoustic than electric
