Sure, except I have a radio broadcast where Mehldau announces the piece as 'untitled waltz', and this is long after Highway rider was released. And at Mehldau's Washington D.C. concert a couple weeks back, the set list showed a piece called “Waltz for J. B.” (Brad Mehldau), which I can only assume is this same piece, since the set list otherwise is the same as all of the other 2010 Mehldau concerts I've seen and heard. Also this piece sounds nothing like 'Don't be sad'.
It is true that the melodic line is a little bit different from what we hear at the Highway Rider LP. However I think it is similar enough to allow us to say it is Don't Be Sad.
This is obviously not 'Smells like teen spirit' and it's not 'Don't be Sad' either. It's a Waltz written by Mehldau which does not (as far as I know) have a title.
this is fantastic thank you for posting!

@kramerica2k6 Seconded - it's definitely not "Don't Be Sad."
Besides, it's sad.
I title this piece "Be Sad."
