For people wondering about Takano and Lambdadelta's relationship they don't have one. Ryukushi07 said that their similarities were Red Herrings. The whole thing about it was to trick people into thinking that Lambda is the villain because Takano was the villain of Higurashi. They have no relationship whatsoever. Bern and Rika do however as Bern is the contemplation of all the dead Rika's and the reason for her trolling is because of her hate for the world because of her memories.

Bernkastel is a witch born inside Rika, when she was trapped in Lambdadelta's game in higurashi.

They're not the same person anymore, but they had a same body in higurashi.

Lambdadelta is probably a witch born from the young Takano, when she was abused in her childhood.

(Lambdadelta and Miyo both mean the number 34)

When the Higurashi game ended, Bernkastel stopped "posessing" Rika, and became the witch she is now.

This is how I think it goes :D Not sure though.

According to the Higurashi wiki's article on Miyo Takano, it's been confirmed in an interview with Ryukishi07 that Lambadadelta and Miyo are not the same and most likely never have been and any similarities between the two have all been red herrings. However, it was implied/stated that Lambda was the one who aided Takano in Higurashi using her Magic of Certainty. Hope this helps.-Takejiro24

@lataeyasmith If You thought about it, Bern is Technically Rika Furude and Lambdadelta is Takano. The battle they had was the long fight Rika had to go though with Takano. In the end Rika gains a Miracle, and is able to beat Takano, (Rei and Kira not with standing) and Takano --until Rikas Miracle-- is CERTAINTY to kill Rika every time. Thats why Bern is the Witch of Micacles and Lambdadelta is the Witch of Certainty.

@lataeyasmith During the Higurashi game a piece Rika Furude was constantly killed until Bernkastel was created, Bernkastel was unknownly sent to solve a logic error by the players and she spent centurys trying to do it however when she did she won by creating a miracle, she basicly as Lamdadelta said "she was a cat that spent 1000 years pouncing on a keyboard till she spelt the word miracle"

As Rika dies in each world her consciousness leaves her and travels the kakeras of 'fragments' with Hanyuu - trying to defeat fate. Bernkastel is created as a collectin of all the dead Rikas. She is not Rika herself.

Ive read/watched/played the manga/anime/visual novels numerous times and have hoarded 6 files of info on the subject, im an 07th expansion autistic who thrives off their wonderful storytelling. This piece of particular information can't be found out from higurashi alone - we find it out through the umineko world too and it has only ever been IMPLIED, never officially released.

Bernkastel is just as abusive of her power as Lambdadelta. You know that hundred year ordeal Rika was put through? It was those two playing a game. I don't know the specifics of it, but since Rika won in the end, I get the strong feeling it was because Bernkastel was pulling the strings. But it wasn't out of genuine concern for Rika, it was because she wanted to win the wager that, even in an impossible situation, a miracle could happen.
