  • Does anyone know how to enable Instant Pages on Linux? There's only Instant Search (which works for Google Search) in the options menu.

  • This looks nice, but I'm a bit concerned. If it preloads a page during search, even if it's not my intended result, is my computer less secure?

  • u know ur good when ur ya only competetion and u still win

  • Great stuff

  • Will Google Chrome work on my android2.2

  • En España aun no esta activo no?

  • Althought, it's not working... well.. not for me.

  • Love the music on this video! What is it?

  • whats google?

  • @XmojotronX not very sure, try yahoo it

  • This is so annoying, I had to disable it.

  • Yea that's true, but if your looking through the links to figure out what to click on, this application will begin loading the first few choices.

  • Lo siento, no funciona, tal vez lo haga en USA, pero por ejemplo en mi país carga de la misma forma; carga así de rápido sólo con páginas a las que se ha entrado previamente. Saludos :)

  • عداكم العيب

  • This actually doesn't work in my CHrome 13

  • don't works

  • when i can downloadnig google chrome 13??

  • @985michal Just google google chrome and you should find a download page.

  • i think chrome is better than firefox !!!!

  • sux

  • Let's not let Google take over the world, even if they are awesome.

  • wow

  • Спасибо гуглу за это

  • for slow people only.

Firefox still better, becouse it Firefox

  • I've got this tune stuck in my head now. Who wrote it?

  • @PMaranci Soundhound can't recognize it. C'mon, Google, tell us who wrote and performed this song!

  • D3OOH

  • I could disable Google Instant for Google search and search faster also on fucking IE9 which is actually pretty fast now. Firefox is still the best because of the only true noscript and adblockplus extension. Chrome extension API is still too limited. Ad resources still load even though you supposedly "blocked" them with adblock extensions on Chrome. Also the notscript is far too basic to protect you from any real click-jacking.

tl;dr video is unreal results and firefox>chrome

  • @dingumfCallofDuty oh boooohoo. You don't get to properly block the advertisements that PAY for the websites you use? How would you like paying 2 dollars for EVERY website you visit on the web.. that will be a nice bill

  • @Alex13N Are you retarded? Why do you think adblock exists in the first place?

  • @dingumfCallofDuty Because idiots like you dont want to support people who pay thousands of dollars a year to keep the website running so you can use them? How do you think Google gets the money to host the billions of youtube videos?

  • @Alex13N they take your personal info and use it for marketing shitty ads nobody with a brain clicks on. Idiots like you feel the urge to click every ad they see to "support the website"

  • FIREFOX FTW

  • What? it is for idiots if u see all of web page was rendered when he search in google if web is no rendered u must wait for page

  • @HabaBaba666 What? That made literally 0 sense. On a scale of 1 to Zorba the Greek, that was this metaphor, in terms of how much sense it made. I'm using my time now posting this so that in future, you might think twice before posting absolute nonsense.

  • Hmm, then why do we speed up our Internet D:<? Orrr.... AHA, gotcha!!

  • I want to work in Google, I don't care if the work it's mopping floors :D...

  • Comment removed

  • This shouldn't be enabled by default. If you are a power-user (developer, sys admin, designer, etc) this is much more of a hindrance than a useful feature and it will cause you a lot of headaches until you disable it.. At least this piece of shit is not enabled in chromium by default as of latest version.

  • nice

  • This is great, but what about basic bookmark pane (like in IE & Firefox)?

  • I wonder if whatever you type in, say you misspell something, and it takes you to a malware loaded site, will that get loaded instead? How's that work?

  • @johlee991 they say they only preload it when they are confident it is what you are looking for. so i would assume they would only preload it when they consider a page to be safe

  • @johlee991

At school, our slow computers combined with IE7 and this ended up me getting porn from a misspelled word. Good thing not many people were around...

  • @johlee991 It will probably only preload official sites, and will maybe only work if you have an antivirus that scans for it as well

  • @johlee991 It's extremely difficult to get malware from just loading a site. It's what you do whilst your there that determines if you get your computer infected.

  • masongoogle...fuck them, I say. Thanks to the increased amount of info about their applets, more and more people aren't using Chrome. So now they are coming up with this shit!! Are they so concerned for US??? wow I'm touched! If so, they'd stop obstructing the download of important videos and searches W/O trying to force their effing Chrome into OUR hd. Stop the bs!!

  • okay, now fix videos for youtube so they don't stop loading and make chrome faster, kthxbai!

  • lol, this is so fake.....

  • Now do it without waiting for the page to load whilst on the search results page!

  • @lifestudios Do you not want them to make it faster? I doubt you immediately click the search result as soon as it has appeared. What is wrong with using that time to start fetching the page?

  • That's great and everything.. potential waste of bandwidth. How do i disable it?

  • @jrbrewin This is 2011 not 1998. We get more than 10kb of bandwidth nowadays haha

  • @chrisybwell I always find when making a snarky comment it helps to fact check first. the google homepage is 712KB, searching for whitehouse is 894KB, and to use the example here, the actual whitehouse website is 2.27MB.

Fact remains, more and more ISPs globally are imposing bandwidth caps, or metered broadband. Personally, this doesn't affect me, but choice is good, or are you standing up and being counted as anti-choice ;-)

  • @jrbrewin Bandwidth caps aren't that low. It would be a pretty big challenge to go over it by visiting webpages only especially with caching.

Even if you are on something like 10gb per month you would have to visit 170 unique 2mb webpages per day to reach that limit. Again, since the majority of people spend most of their time on the same sites like Facebook it becomes insignificant.

  • @chrisybwell every little helps, especially for those on 3g internets. a more helpful response would have been pointing out how to disable the feature, which i already did in another comment.

  • @jrbrewin Just saying it really isn't a big deal and we should be trying to advance technology rather than staying in the same place. If I knew how to disable it I would have said but there really isn't any reason to do so nowadays.

  • @chrisybwell i'm all for the advancement of technology, but it's good not to lose focus on the reason why. it's all about being user-centric, and that includes affording people the choice. Google, as expected, did the right thing in allowing us to turn off this feature for those that want / need to. :)

  • @jrbrewin unticking "Predict network actions to improve page load performance" in the under the hood options should do this. thanks, me.. :-)

  • well there is a pause after search results appear before clicking on that first result, i assume that pause is there to preload the page! :s

what happens if you click that 1st result instantaneously? is there any difference still?i usually open first 10 results, each in new tab and close them as i scanned / read them

  • Whitehouse.gov takes only two seconds to load on FF for me. Why does the Chrome browser take 7.2s? That seems pretty rubbish

  • how to get it work?

  • The soundtrack to this videos is great. So is instant pages. I use the latest beta.

  • It's not working, at least for me

  • seriously, i dun think it's possible . even if you r sitting next to the server .

  • background sound ?

  • First page: 7.2 seconds to load

    Second: 5 seconds (from 0:27 to 0:32)

    mmmmmm..... no

  • What is the criteria for Google choosing which pages to load?

What if I search something and a very inappropriate page appears in the search results? Does that mean this page goes into my cache without me even clicking it?

Not sure I like the sound of that.

  • @thelaw1984 Yep, if the first result is pronz then you could end up with dirty stuff on your hard drive even if you didn't click on the link

  • @thelaw1984 then dont use it? its toggleable, even off by default

  • i tried it on my mac.. but it does not really work.. it's still loading the websites..

  • If the first page takes 7.2 seconds to load, then you have to stay in the search results page that time to get an "Instant loading". This video doesn't show a real result because the permanency on the search results is less than 6 seconds. (There isn't enought time to preload the page)

  • @juande when you're doing a search and you do not instantly find the page you are looking for it's useful, it's better with the preloading than without, so what's the point of complaining?

  • @juande

I dunno, works pretty well. I tested it and I barely stayed on the search page, and when I clicked the link, it was already preloaded.

  • @juande I know that in a real life case you spend time to review the search results, so the system is really helpful as is. What I meant with the comment is that this video removes nearly 1 second of waiting. :)

  • @juande it's just markenting. it's never real haha

  • no entendi!

  • ПИЗДЕЖ

  • Google has finally achieved the "0 seconds" search.

Next update will feature the "load-before-you-even-think-about-it" type of search.

  • @FugazStar

Should be possible with a super anvanced brain scanner, because your brain thinks thoughts in advance.

  • please any knows the back ground music title??

    i wanna buy it!!

  • Do you need Google instant on? Cause if you do forget it lol, not that I care, I use Firefox.

  • this doesn't work at all?

  • I am curious to know how this effects a sites metrics? Their bandwidth useage? Not sure if these are things to be concerned with but my guess is that this is not 100% accurate which could lead to a skewed trafic report.

  • @thevincentclark Most people click the first link anyway. If a website can't take the bandwidth of every user searching for that term clicking the top link then well... Also I don't think it renders the page (only downloads) until you visit it and if it does render it I don't think it would run js until you open the page up.

  • switching back to chrome now!!

  • do something please take the "6.6.6" logo!

This well may be, I know!

  • Will it higher load to web servers?

  • hey Who is the author of the song in this video?? Artist and track???

    pleaseee!!! i like it!!!!

  • HOW ABOUT CACHE ON MY LAN????

  • Very Apple' ish. Nice..

  • mmh and security ? is really safe?

  • @gemedj89 of course they SAVE , RECORD everything you don on your computer :) and store it on thiers

  • I need some help. I've downloaded the BETA version of Chrome and still I'm not sure how to enable Instant Pages. Can anyone help?

  • Is the music part of Google's Worldwide Hypnosis?

  • And Google may now accept its crown

  • nice:D 1

  • PM if you want Google+ invite.

  • @goodgirlshane1 sense comentaris

  • how it works?

  • Google took charge of Android so right now i say google will beat Facebook just give it time

  • @Chopgood168 Facebook and Google are both gonna be a tie...its like seeing this...lets say Nintendo 64 with Nintendo Wii..both are awesome to each other..but they still is used more than other things..Myspace is dead..now look at gamecube...how a fail it was..

  • now add it to youtube videos!

  • Google + vs. Facebook reviews at

    webfuzonDOTnet

  • lol i reported you channels background image......(===3

  • Oh look, it's only on Chrome. -_-

  • Dr. Google, you are my hero!

  • You can't see the results while you're typing, sometimes useful

  • How I can disable it? I sometimes look for something with "I'm feeling lucky" and I can not because the search pages instantly and are looking for, just type a word

  • Wow if I switch to chrome from ie9 I can save a whopping 2.5 seconds on the whitehouse gov

  • これはまたすごいね。こういう技術力ってもうとんでもない領域に来てるんだなー。

  • Cool.

  • god forbid if we have to wait a whole 7.2s ...the world will end :))

  • now why would I want to have the first result preloaded?

often when one serach its the 2nd or third that is the best site that comes up..

  • lol @ the comments

  • Google really needs to start putting the name of the songs they use in their videos. This is one is too good. Anyone knows what is this?

  • @garindrapp Ya ii agree. I also what to know the name of the song

  • ......with a subscription of $99 dollars a year

  • this is not real i got google chrome

  • Yay for smitten kitchen!

  • It is impressive this video, mine also OF NEVER SEEN

  • safari is a web browser. not an OS.

  • ok, how do I enable it on google chrome? or on Safari for PC?

  • hahaha so stupid .. "search some shit on google" "wait 10 seconds" - >instant downloaded page sure ..

  • LOL THEY'RE ON SAFARI.

    That made me rofl

  • @Qweasder87 Wow your retarded. This was done on a MAC OS thats why the UI looks like that.

  • @Qweasder87 That's not Safari Faggot, if you didn't know, Google Chrome is available on Mac too :)

  • Comment removed

  • @Qweasder87 google search for "safari web browser" and you will see that it looks nothing like what they use in the video.

    ...good guess though

  • a quite convenient device provided by google.......thank you

  • I like how Google is releasing so many innovations only available for their browser. They're trying to keep you locked in!

  • Great and all but I don't think it's going to improve my life...

  • They didn't even show how on Chrome, you just type the website you wanna go to in the browser and it automatically goes to the first page (the one you visit the most). So I type in "y"...then I blink and I'm on youtube. OMG! Now all Google has to invent is a mind reader and a holographic interface. :p

  • the timer is not working on the right side :P

  • This is why i am a mormon.

  • THANK GOD, 5 seconds of my life is no longer wasted! Thank you Google!

  • @TalkinWTyler No worries, mate. Since you can't do the math, I wouldn't bother wasting your life.

  • @TalkinWTyler Think about people with slower or less reliable connections. Also, in a 2 hour browsing session, it might save you 10 mins. That's 10 mins of my life I could be doing something else LOL

  • @rahmanroni lol all it is is just loading the pages before you ask it to. It will slow down slow connections even more.

  • I checked the date the video was uploaded to make sure it wasn't on April 1st

  • There go the metrics.

I like the nice long pause after each search while the page loads in the background.

  • fack this internet explorer is better and faster google chrome is gay!!

  • @mopie123456789 internet explorer is faster? LMAO Nice try, troll.

  • awesome, only chrome can use this.

  • This is why I love Chrome. Constantly delivering the latest features while every other browser is in a never-ending game of catch-up. :D

  • @SecretAgent194 latest features? this is just prefetch on a search engine. Something firefox has had for ages.

  • @josheeT Wow Firefox is that slow WITH prefetching? Chrome is faster without. When this gets implemented by default, it will increase the speed gap even more.

  • 0:37 It makes me think about Rebecca Black Friday song

  • Comment removed

  • Google prefers Linux, not Mac! =)

  • I find this feature extremely useless

  • GOOGLE PREFERS A MAC!!!!! =D

  • Pretty cool feature!

  • Comment removed

  • There are 6,930,055,154 internet users in the world. If we all save 5 seconds download time on just one web page click each we will have cumulatively saved over 1,500,000 years. Now, you thought global warming was bad, what will this do to the space-time continuum. Apocalypse here we come !

  • Great feature. How many starving children will it feed or maybe it will stop global warming and what about Tibet.

  • Wonderful for google adwords

  • Good thing I've got Nyan cat playing in the background

  • So, how can I use this testicle ????

  • @abdalla5243305 ... huh?

  • Sounds like Portal music :D

  • Sounds like Portal msuic :D
