  • villreal just beat 3x defending champ cisnerios with this move, in state finals

  • i watch this every time i train...and apply it in training...i used this in grappling matches...works 90% of my attempts...it would only work if you push the guy to the side, hold his hand, put your right foot deep between his feet and bridge up like in jujitsu...no strength needed and his land is not high, no need to carry him, just turn your body...bam!!! tell me if it doesn't work...

  • I love to tie up and i duck under and do my own move which is just throwing them around lol. Hey if it work what the hell

  • Please new .

  • One of my fab moves against kids who are new fall for it every time

  • @IAMJEVON Yeah i feel you bro. Had a match today against this other kid and i noticed he kept pushing so i hooked up the lat drop and bam. SO sick. Yeh this is my favourite move but it doesn't work on good people.

  • This is awesome

  • put some of your vids in slow mo please! your kinda fast

  • @liamsscott oh hell yeah. This is one of my teammates favorite moves

  • is it me or do those mats sound like they hurt!

  • is this legal in high school?

  • I broke my arm doing this, put a warning on it

  • Coach...so the key point in this take down is obviously the overhook and (in this case) the right leg being in between your opponents legs. It looks like your placing your leg slight in between his...where would be the point of failure in these to spots ie leg too deep, overhook below elbow...

    PS...OBIE!

  • @Noelmin1978 the overhook is important, but I'd say the pressure is even more important. Without your opponents forward pressure your just going to pin yourself.

  • Been hitting this move consistently in my MMA class lately and wondering what other throws are available from that deep overhook position. Seems like when we clinch up I end up in that over/under position a lot when transitioning and just looking for other options available. Thanks! Btw, awesome vids! Learning a lot!

  • Is this a good heavyweight move?

  • @Theplatypusofdeath1 probably not haha you might end up on your back unless your really strong and quick

  • @Theplatypusofdeath1 no, trust me ive tried, your better of learning a double underhook

  • I never quite understood the mechanics of this move back in highschool. I always really wanted to learn it though.

  • Nice, thanks

  • Obie??

  • That aint Obie. I dont like change

  • this is a great move to use in jiujitsu a well, such an advantage to landing in side control with that arm and headlock.

  • WHERES OBIE??

  • this is a great move to use in jiujitsu a well, such an advantage to landing in side control with that arm and headlock.

  • Hey coach, I might just be in high school and knowing all that you have accomplished its hard to say this to you but when you had that overhook your arm was tucked under his that is dangerous I've seen people break there wrists doing that. My coaches will run me to death if I do. I don't know if its less dangerous because you and I set it up differently but We always have to grip the Tricep

  • Im already a good wrestler but i can't really say im good until i got some technique

  • @BBoyam902 if you dot have teqnique then your not really good lol

  • can this move be used in high school wrestling?

  • @animangafan342 -______-' really?

  • @Sam10830 wat?

  • @animangafan342 lol ofcourse this can be used in hs wrestling!

  • i get this throw so often.

  • amazing stuff thanks

  • street fight finisher

  • This hurts

  • very nicely done videos. direct, minimal and practical.

  • Good stuff :) I'm a beginner and always enjoy watching your channel.

The slow motion audio makes it sound like two bears fighting too :D

  • We are taught to grip the elbow instead of underhook so that we doont break our wrists

  • that looks hella epic

  • dude executed beutifully

  • @lionsforlyons YESSSSS!!!! Too fye

  • great set up for a drop seoi nage or shoulder throw, too!

  • Notice he doesnt use his legs ... so its great in greco

  • i love watching Kolat!

  • the 3 people who disliked have been pinned in this move =]

  • what i do is get that overhook, then fake a High-C then bust it out

  • @BeeGreeen thats an awsome setup

  • this move's kinda hard at first

  • I remember when I yanked this in CIF placers over the 1 seed. got the pin. greatest feeling ever.

Its just one of the baddes1 moves in the sport.

  • this is just like a knight rider but u dont have his leg

  • Wrestled my first match ever yesterday. Used this move and pinned him in 14 seconds. Thanks Kolat!

  • 25 pins with this my senior year in highschool

  • Fedor Emelianenko, a legendary fighter, one of the greatest hand to hand combatant ever to live on this planet, uses this technique.

  • i used this move last week perfectly on a heavyweight and it worked to perfection

  • dece move

  • i just hit this move at my duel today thanks man it realy works

  • i feel like jesus after i got my pin with this

  • Lateral Drop= my most favorite throw EVER.

But I haven't done it in over a year. A bit (lots) rusty.

Good to have a refresher course.

  • Mr judo rikeys a rot. No turn back, trow face 2 face :) ( :

  • LOL NO TAKE THIS VID OFF to many ppl are gonna know it now ahaha.. its gonna get overated like a head and arm ahahaha...

  • have jv duals to day and iam watching kolat before it

  • Awesome technique. I love this guy!

  • i fucking love the aspect of lateral drops

  • If you're underhooking with your right arm, then would you have to step in with your left foot?

  • @daykellonko In this video it is a right arm underhook and right leg step in for the throw. If you had an overhook with your right arm and were going to the other side you would underhook with the left arm and step in with the left leg for the throw.

  • OMG don't show this vid to my bro >< he always watchs wrestling (undertaker, jhon cena randy whatever lol) and he come to me and try to apply all their moves T_T

  • @strawberryUAE ya... but these are REAL wrestling moves

  • @123brown1 ya i could tell from the moves i was just kidding ^^, i think these can be a great self defence technique

  • haha i actually hit this at my tournament yesterday.

  • Jonathan Brookins on the new TUF is a badass at this. Every one of his fights i've seen he's done it...he even did it against Jose Aldo

  • notice the arm across the back. Two different positions if the arm of your is up on the shoulder. Kolat is the best thing going on the internet right now. I watch and learn from him and coach against him in the NCAA

  • very sweet.

  • wow man, that was skilled as fuck. Very nice brother

  • could you post the best way to get into that position when the other person is punching a little and very defensive/aggressive.

  • @realmmj82 I'm not in mma or anything so I don't know what it's like with a punch being thrown, but you don't need to handle the wrist, you can just break the distance and clench, pummel in etc. You can also get here from a failed takedown attempt, shoot on the legs and just pop up into a pummeling position.

  • this is a great move. going to try it for sure

  • hitting this move feels so cool.

  • @J0sh92 I dont normally self promote but I was pretty good with the one arm lateral drop. If you click my name its the video that shows on my channel. I'm no pro but the one arm is one that you might want to consider. The reason being, with the over-under combo, most highschool level wrestlers will become aware of the position and take actions to avoid you tossing them. With the one arm, someone can single leg, you whizzer, keep overhook, and go launch-pad mcquack on them before they realize.

  • what im concerned with is whether or not I can use this for submission grappling as a takedown. It seems effective. What I'm worried about is possibly getting my back taken. It seems that once you have established an overhook they wont be able to take your back. Anyone with experience, will the overhook prevent your back from being taken?

  • @dragon7296

If you do it right then no. You should land directly into side control, so this is actually an excellent take down for submission grappling.

  • @dragon7296

That's what the whizzer (overhook) is for, in sub grappling or in folkstyle.

  • @dragon7296

Just going to agree with what everyones saying.. i've used this in a sub grappling tourney.. works like a charm;)

  • you don't have to go back to your back. You can cheat it by going to the side a little bit. I go to the side a little bit and it works just as affectively

  • I have serious trouble with this move. I don't feel comfortable dropping to my back and my coach tells me I turn too early. Any tips?

  • @delta510 don't turn so early. But seriously, it all position and using there movement, it can't be forced, stepping in between opponents legs and keeping your hips low will help. Once you get the feel it will be second nature, but if you do it allot the time guys you work out with will see it coming, more you do it the better you will get at hiding the set up.

  • thank you!! tried it at my usa wrestling tournament total domination thanx to u

  • @knightlego0 yeah...you should probably practice new move in practice..not at tournaments, haha but thats cool

  • would this happen to be legal in collegiate wrestling?

  • yes

  • Great video!!

    Thank you!!

  • thanks for posting this...A friend of mine who I train wrestling with hits me with this one all the time!

  • i really like how you show the moves in different angles and slow it down, this explains a lot to me. Thanks.
