@1213trans Not really into metal anymore, but when I do, I nostalgia all over the fucking place. If you really want to hear what I've been up to recently (lots and lots of punk rock), I have a song up on my channel called "Bitter (Why I'm Not)" which I wrote and recorded every instrument to by myself. That's a bit of improvement, though it's just a rough tracking of the song.
@1213trans Though I do appreciate the constructive criticism, may I direct you to the upload date, which is towards the beginning of 2009, and we approach the beginning of 2012, not to mention this video was made in 2008. It's been almost 4 or 5 years since this was made.
its not a bad tremolo by any means. There are just a lot of people who wish it was an oiginal floyd rose. Its a great tremolo if you know how to set it up properly.
I have abused the hell out of some and they have stayed in tune great, even after a few weeks.
I heard of someone that had an original Edge-Pro that stayed in tune for 22 years hahaha. My friend has a xiphos, and he needs to get it set up incredibly bad, and the trem looks a little discolored, but other than that, it seems that if it got a setup it would be a solid trem
Dude, tell 'em not to get a Floyd Rose. I am a big fan of the Edge Series myself. Sure you need to get a setup on it every once in a while, but it sure plays better than that Floyd Rose Garbage. They're great. I personally wish this did have an Edge Pro, but I believe the only guitars they come set up in is the Steve Vai JEM and the Original Satch Signature Guitar.
Pretty much the whole signature guitar line has gone back to the Original Edge tremolo, which is from the 80's. THis includes the JEM and JS models. The whole rest of the Prestige line has moved to the Edge Zero trem.
I don't understand your hatred for the Original Floyd Rose, as anyone who knows trems will tell you it is not garbage. Oh well...
I gave you 5 stars:] Btw if you don't mind me asking I'm searching for a new guitar (preferably Ibanez with at least 24 frets+locking tremelo+floating tremelo) and I was wondering if you were having any troubles with this guitar whatsoever. If so would you suggest the model with 27 frets or some other model??:X
Absolutely no trouble at all. People who say the Edge III Trem sucks, are very ignorant, and apparently didn't even take the 5 seconds to search for the way to actually make it work... Just insert the Trem Bar, dump it down, and tighten the little bolt on the Bridge with the smallest Allen Wrench that comes with the guitar and tighten it. You'll never go out of tune, and the bar will never come out.
i see that ibanez decided to move one of the strap pins over by the jack... does this help with the neck dive issue?
i want to know, because i have last years xiphos model, and the neck dive is ridiculous, so i want to fix it without drilling up on the top (small) fin by the neck
please tell me if you have issues with neck dive. thanks
Alright. Enough about the Edge III. It doesn't matter, you know why? Cause a tremolo is a tremolo... There's no difference, unless it's material, but that doesn't make a difference... The Edge III is the same thing as a Floyd Rose, intonation wise, tune wise, and abilities. Just different Metal.
Yeah. I'm getting a real quality amp soon. I currently use a Fender 15G Practice Amp. I'm getting a Marshall half stack soon, which will indeed be nice. I also have a Crate 30 Watt amp, that I rarely use.
I actually got the 27 fret version some months ago and I can't understand why so many people keep pounding on the Edge 3. It seems to me that about 80% of it's negative reputation is just hearsay. I use my tremolo quite a bit and I have had no problems with it so far. It stays in tune perfectly it has low action. That was pretty good. You should try to keep your picking arm movements lower like when you're doing the solo. At the beginning you played alot from your elbow which can be exhausting.

The Edge Pro has only been around since 2003. lol
tdaytona77 2 years ago
@tdaytona77 Maybe it was like the original edge or something... im not sure haha
i3adlad 1 year ago
Seems more likely, I have 1989 and 1991 original Edge trems that look and work like new. :)
tdaytona77 1 year ago
I personally like Edge more than Floyd Rose... idk... It's just that Floyd Rose is more fluttery... For flutter-fags! Hahahahaha!!!

Yeah, it really really does help with the neck dive. The 2009 model is sooooo much better. I love it. No neck dive what-so-ever.

thanks a lot man.

I am not a huge fan of your tone... Its not heavy enough, but none the less the cover is good. I would just rather hear a heavier tone.

Don't get a Marshall unless you plan on getting a JCM2000 dual lead or something.
You're better off with a Peavey head on a Marshall 1960 cab, it sounds much better =]
Either way, just make sure you get a tube amp, solid state FTL

Alright. Well, I got myself a Marshall DSL 100... I'll redo this with it!
