Oh, most of the couples are great favorites of mine! I love this. Although i'm only 18, I think that the films, actors&actresses, music etc. from the golden era's are simply wonderful, timeless and Class with a capital "C"! Thanks (:
i mean this song is a lot older then myself, but i love it i mean i even watch those older black and white movies and they are great i guess thats what happens when you hang out with people older then yourself
I love this song, and these pictures from all those old black and white movies, I just love it. My kids can't understand why I watch these old movies, but every since I was young they've been my favorite. Thanks for putting this together with one of my favorite song. Awesome Video!!!!!!
Claraquick, Your photo montage is just fabulous. It's totally magic. This creative work of awesome, spellbinding & beautiful rolling tapestry of images, with the feel of this music is brilliant and inspiring to the heart.
This is among the most incredible instances of songwriting & vocal work, ever, in any kind of music. It's the most fabulous thing. It is one of the greatest recordings of all time in the history of music. The lead vocal lines, the use of strings, the lead-in created by the strings and the drummer, the ultra fabulous background vocals, the lyrics themselves, the fabulous bridge, EVERYTHING simply perfection; something so fabulously real going on. Timeless, transcending, never-ending quality.
Thank you, claraquick, for posting this! Such smooth, beautiful music and it reminds me of melting butter. Whatever happened to the word "melody" these days? However, pop music is at an all-time low which means great music is on its way back! Woohoo!!!
Great music is on its way back? Please, is there anything we can do to speed its return?! :) Thanks for the kind comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
i work at a resturant and i heard this song.. i wanted to know who sung it thanks im also a producer and everytime im stuck on making a beat, i put this song on. it calms me down and helps me think thanks to the person who put this up please reply
Thanks so much Lorrainegate, your comments are a delight to read. And I don't have immediate plans for a slideshow for any more Cornelius Brothers, but I will be posting something similarly soulful by the Chi-Lites soon! I hope it suits you as well as this one did!
I wish more romantic movies were like the ones from back in those days. You don't necessarily need sex for a movie to be good and romantic. Thanks for an excellent video, and the song is awesome. It's one of my favorites.
My favorite song of all time. I'm 59, and for the last 41 of those years I always get taken away, wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, when those drums lead into this truly beautiful, soulful and funky music -- and time. Thanks.
Sorry this is just insulting to these artists to put white people on the slide show when clearly there was a problem between black and whites in those days...just saying it dont seem right.
Honestly? This music is so amazing, I feel it transcends issues like that. It's a beautiful song that touches me every single time I hear it - regardless of my race or Eddie Cornelius's. I simply don't feel that is a factor in any way.
Sorry Claraquick for my words in response starbuttpowah here. Ugly in one ear for ugly in the other ear and the whole world is deaf. This context is about love and beauty. Nothing more.
after all these years, this song still gets me. great visuals, so sad that kids do not know who these icons are i would rather follow in their steps, than what we see today
You have got that right Lorra. There should be a youtube awards special prize for this work. Or at the very least some recognision with a nomination. Is it too late to bring this kind of simple love song that transends all communities in this uptight world? Or are they gone....thee death of FM the vanished MTV the fall of a nation hearing top forty-I believe-it's too late to turn back now.
When i was 15 i loved this song, couldn`t get enough, what you did with the photo`s is brilliant, found myself with a lump in my throat, remembering them all as they flash by, thanks for the elegance of this, it is just beautiful. Some classy taste, and ohh!! the memories
Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoy the slideshow! I'm only 22, but I definitely grew up with this song, too...I've seen so many 'new' old movies since I made this, I might have to make a sequel with another beautiful Cornelius Bros. song. I'll keep you updated! ;)
...I hate when this happens cause I feel that nowadays all love affairs end up in misery. So sad but true. I am old-fashioned and love deep but I am going to guard myself this time..................
Outstanding! Sweet homage to some of the Greatest on-screen couples in cinematic history. Romance is the theme and film legends captured in glorious black and white are once again the stars. Love and affection are so beautifully captured, these romances will live forever on film. The "orchestrated" Soft Soul classic "Too Late To Turn Back Now" by sibling group Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, is a perfect choice for these images from a bygone era. Masterpiece. Big Thanks.
Thanks for being the only one to post my favorite song of all time! To me the only picture that relates to the song is Boggie sitting alone cause if you notice at the end of the song he says"I wouldn't mind it if I new she really loved me to but I'd hate to think that I'm in love alone and nothing that I can do"Just to let you no it's all a fantasy or one sided love affair. 1972 recorded at the music Factory Miami Fla.
Glad you love the song as much as I do! As for the photo-music correlation, I wasn't trying to match the images up to the lyrics literally, except for during the chorus (the Bogie pic from Casablanca, for example). The rest of the pictures were just some of my favorite scenes from romantic movies or, in a few cases, real-life celebrity couples, all looking very much in love. Thanks for the comments!
Oh Yea,the pictures do match the chorus."There's this thing called love and it's a... everywhere". I looked for there other big hit but it's not posted (Treat her like a lady)And yet another was (Don't ever be lonely a poor little fool like me.
Why is their no videos of The Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose on YouTube? They had a few really big songs, this one is by far the biggest going all the way to #2 on Billboards Pop charts in 1972.
There are only 2 known pieces of footage on Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose: 1) "Too Late To Turn Back Now" CB&SR with sister Billie Jo joining as a quartet on The Mike Douglas Show in 1972; and 2) "Treat Her Like A Lady" CB&SR as the original trio lineup on an early music video, shot in 1971, by The Music Factory in Miami. Whoever has this rare footage, please post!!!
I saw the footage of both and would dearly love to see them again. CB&SR only released 3albums: the self-titled debut; "Big Time Lover"; and the greatest hits lp---which seemed very strange as they only had 2 lps; however: Who has the album that may/may not have been released, the CB&SR "Testify" album, with the United Artists single "(I Got To) Testify"? I have searched for this album for years; the single gave the catalogue number of the album but all my searches have ended with no results...
You're welcome - it is indeed a beautiful song, one of the most memorable to come out of that era, although everything this band has put out is exceptionally great music.
