Sheriff Arpaio has been criticized for allowing his deputies and posse members to engage in sex acts during an undercover prostitution "sting". In November, 2003, Sheriff's deputies arrested over 70 people for prostitution and solicitation. "I'm not trying to pass the buck but I have no management, no authority over the 'Correctional Health.' That comes under the county manager," Arpaio said.
n a 2004 memo regarding correctional health services, Arpaio wrote to county managers that "delivery of health care services" is "the constitutional mandate of the sheriff." Arpaio also wrote that health care services are a "collaborative effort" between Correctional Health Services and Arpaio's office. 12 News asked Arpaio about the memo, which appears to acknowledge the sheriff's role in inmate health care.
Arizona Revised Statute 36-402 states the county sheriff is ultimately responsible to maintain accreditation for "medical and health services" of jails.

No I joined in 2003 and all us recruits were 18 yrs old some 17, all we wanted to do was graduate and be soldiers. We had nothing to do with 1968 and 1972. Solders who are responsible for that should get yelled at they are still alive and old please feel free yell at them I would. But generailizing to the younger generation it's not like we say when we join in 2003 Oh I can't becuase of 1968! We were young and didn't even know.
Lastly, it is selfless service when we have to stay up all night in the cold rain guarding the base while civilians get to sleep but it was ok. I meant the militaary chants of "left, left, left, left" the falling into possition with the platoon, the belt with canteens, The standing at attention the room searches that is Military tradition for a recruit in training.Chains-well we don't need them, getting yelled at by the Drill Sgt was enough. Also I am a woman :) But we liked it and it was not punishmentit was becoming a soldier. BUT I'm glad I got that over with along time ago since I'm no longer in the Army

Funny thing I never was givena gun to kill anyone that wasn't my job in it maybe some choose infantry butnot all jobs require killing for ex: Chaplain. Do you haveaproblem with the Army? We joined to serve our country it's just selfless sercive. Yes we are treated bad at first but it's just training to become a soldier we got treated very well at graduationwhen our Drill sgts told us they were proud to call us soldiers.

2)Yes I was free to join and wanted to serve that is all. Even in the Army when we weren't working we could have free time to do whatever. I never went to war, neither do I agree with Iraq but I had a lot of fun and learned a lot It was a good experience for me. But something to mentionis that it's ok not to join, we should all be free to make that choice and there are many people who love their countries and not serve, it's cool! As long as they are happy that is what matters :)

No I joined in 2003 and all us recruits were 18 yrs old some 17, all we wanted to do was graduate and be soldiers. We had nothing to do with 1968 and 1972. Solders who are responsible for that should get yelled at they are still alive and old please feel free yell at them I would. But generailizing to the younger generation it's not like we say when we join in 2003 Oh I can't becuase of 1968! We were young and didn't even know.

Lastly, it is selfless service when we have to stay up all night in the cold rain guarding the base while civilians get to sleep but it was ok. But seriosuly, blame is directed to the responsible,we weren't even alive the the 60s when thos jerks did their crazythings I won't blame younger soildiers for that I blame the older (crazy) ones who actually were there

Not every soldier in the military is a "killer". I must say some are, but in the end, they just follow their battalion.
The national gard, for example, helps people in disasters to recover etc.
Yes there are bad apples in the military but there are also good people. I guess what the person was trying to say is that we cannot judge very solder for the behavior of some.

I know because the chaplains are not ordered to kill they don't even carry a weapon.
And nowadays when someone is a conciensus objector, they make arrangements for them not to kill even if ordered. A soldier has the right to not obey if it goes against their religion or belief and there are a lot of soldiers like that.

@RTINSC: Well, the grammar police stepped in but missed the memo regarding the difference between a "synonym" and a "homonym". Reinforcements were called by said grammar police when I intervened and used the word "people" in a plural form. Traditionally, "people" is singular only, though it's usage in plural form is widely accepted enough to indicate that KJeffV was nitpicking. You may now consider yourself "brought up to speed". ;-)
