Just so we are all clear, this video and the book "Why Cats Paint" was a comedy book. Meant to mess with people. I am not assuming this, it is fact. Look it up. That being said, if anyone knows of any real sources documenting cat painting, I would love to hear about it!

Is this something to do with the fact cats mark their territory? by using 'calculated' colours and 'strokes' to the cat, could it be the same as a particular sent?

lol, I do think its possible that some cats like to paint (come on dogs, horses, elephants, dolphins, birds can all do it ) but man this was so incredibly fake. I think the cat was more fascinated with the furry paw puppet in front of it than the painting the puppet was doing.

Absolutely fake. If that cat was truly painting, and the cameraman wanted to prove it, the angle would be clear.

I hate to say this, because cats do a lot of funny stuff, but this particular clip is faked. Anybody with a bit of common sense can tell that!

The only research I've ever seen is the book released with the Why Cats Paint exhibition. Can you tell me where to find scholarly research on this, please?

possibly real but they never give you a good camera angle... fake until proven real... good hoax if they are selling.
