I disagree, in part you're right because it's a speculative bubble, eventually the same people will have to sell their gold to close out their positions and the price will go down, but in the long run if the US government has to increase liquidity to the tune of 700 billion dollars, then the bridge is out up ahead, and buying gold or any other kind of commodity is the only way to protect yourself from staggering inflation.

You guys are insured for 100,000 for each account. Meaning if you have 1 million, divided equally into 10 accounts they're all covered. Stop pulling money out, you're making it worse. It really is a shame we keep getting so much bad publicity

If you're satisfied with WaMu's convenience and service, there's no need to panic. But I'd suggest that you keep your deposits under $100,000 in the aggregate of any accounts in the same name at any, one bank. You don't want to have uninsured deposits in ANY bank these days. Why take the risk?

I quit Wamu years ago because the teller girls treated me like crap.They acted like they were too good to talk to me.This is extraordinary, in that I always considered being a teller a low level entry job.Anyhow,I told my wife they would eventually go out of business because of their attitude.I would say close your account.I did,they will likely fail.

I was chaged by Washington Mutual $30 to check my balance. Something that my new bank wouldn't chage a penny for even if I was in China, Wamu charged me $30 for. Free checking? I guess I found the catch.

I pulled all of my money out of Wastington mutual when they were charging me $30 to check my account balance on a US installation. Today I saw lines wraped around the bank a little bit after their stock plunged to close to a buck. WAMU is getting what they dished out, and deserve.
