It was based on the novel Do Androids Dream electric sheep by Phillip K Dick also of Total Recal and Minority report part of the doom and gloom set of SF writers in the 6's when people speculated on the end game of managed economies. For me Blade Runner is one of the most evocotive and one of Harrison Ford's best performances

Unfortunately this was probably the peak of Rutger's movie career. He did a string of action adventure flicks in the nineties. But Blade Runner will always be the film with Roy Batty, the android with a bit of heart.

its too bad the sequel was Soldier, I really hope they attempt one more with more meaning, maybe something that adds more to the story, rather than simply drawing off it in aminisquel ways
