The lead character & "plot" in this show was partly based on real life ex-Hell's Angel Birney Jarvis AKA "Preetam Bobo", as Hunter Thompson named him in his book on the Hells Angels. Birney was a Frisco Hells Angel from 1954-58. He was also a pro boxer, newspaperman & sailor. This show's script was written by Birney's newspaper friend-turned screenwriter, Denne Bart Petitclerc. Birney was technical advisor and assistant to the producer of the NBC and MGM production. Birney now lives in Alabama.
Thanks. I never knew that. I just remember that I didn't get to see the show because it ran too late on school nights. I was looking forward to seeing the reruns, and the TV station in its infinite wisdom pulled it out and put in The Big Valley instead. I grew to like TBV but still thought it was a big gyp on the part of the network.
@RoyFive I wouldn't know how to upload them even if I had time , but they are available on DVD from several sources. My wife got mine for Christmas for me a few years back and they were about $30. You can also get the European version of the pilot movie and see Bonnie Bedalia topless in the beach scene.
@yvwic50 Nice of you to add this anyway, just so it won't be forgotten. I was so angry back in 1970 because during the school year I never got to see TCB during it's initial run, so I was looking forward to seeing reruns and Channel 47 in its "wisdom" immediately replaced it with reruns of The Big Valley. I ultimately got to like The Big Valley but still think they should have shown reruns of TCB.

I want to see episodes of the original 1969 show. I've always been denied the opportunity to view them. Anybody who has them, please upload them.
