  • Having lived in Denmark this year, I can say that this sounds a lot like Danish. Except they don't sound like they have six golf balls in their mouths.

  • I like the foot choir...very classy Nederlandisch!

  • The audience in this always confused me, did they just dress up the studio audience.

  • They should really make that into a show. I certainly would rather watch it than who wants to be a millionaire, and it would have a much lower budget! That's what we call a win-win situation right there!

  • The "Disatur zun Rhine" part kills me every time. :D

  • LOVE THE OLD MAN.

  • i like her dress.

  • This doesn't even remotely sound like Dutch...

  • This is my favorite Kids in the hall sketch!!!

  • The dude in the tree is hilarious. And all the people at the end snorting when they bring the pig out. I love KitH.

  • The dude in the tree is hilarious.

  • I'm glad that I'm German, and not dutch. Weird shows...LOL

  • "Ne podlek poi. . . . . FEELYAT!" LOL

  • KITH is the shit

  • I think this is my favorite KITH sketch. Never knew it was Dutch -- I just assumed they were making the language up!

  • Gibberish comedy dies a slow death due to Google Translate. Five words... "Het object is een ananas."

  • @IanL762 "Hej Vanjen! Er du frisk?" "Jaaa, jaaaa!"

  • Is that Kevin Allison in the grey suit in the front row?

  • Scott Thompson is so damn funny as that old man freaking out as he's escorted to the stage

and the frown helmets--this is the best game show parody ever

  • I want a set of Feelyat oven mitts!

  • dude in 1:03-1:05 is hardcore.

  • The buckets on the head are the best! And Daryl almost waves his own arm off. This is one of the best sketches they ever did, just so off the wall.

  • this so everything BUT dutch...

  • @elbassie ?

  • What season is this from? I don't think it's in my boxset...

  • Wow! There are sharks in the river Rhine? XD

  • It's not Dutch. It's a made-up pseudo-Germanic language that's supposed to sound like Dutch/Danish/German, etc.

  • @SonjaElen Nothing in it sounds like Danish. The few words that had a scandinavian ring to it sounded Swedish. Other than that, it gibberish sounds like a 75-25 mixture of Swedish Chef from Muppet Show with Dutch-ish.

  • @elbassie It does not bother me that the only reason you are upset is because you don't really get the regional humor, however I would like to point out that calling someone "retarded" is in itself very ignorant.

  • Interesting. Is this really what Americans think Dutch sounds like? To me, as a Dutchman, this sounds rather more like an imitation of an Austrian language of some sorts.

  • @MrTr0y I think the poster of this video got the language wrong.

  • they're canadian.

no one on this continent knows what dutch sounds like.

  • Except those who speak dutch.

  • That is so true. They could be speaking Swedish or Finnish and we'd never know. We in North America just don't get enough exposure to these languages to be able to discern the difference.

  • @brandydeshayzer

The difference doesn't matter. The joke of the sketch derives from the fact that we don't know what they're saying. It's punctuated with a couple of recognizable words like "meat" and "steak" and "in specifica...". It doesn't make a difference if it's a real language or not.

  • @terracottapie What's more, he said 'biftec'.. that's french XD

  • The Kids in the Hall are Canadians.

  • @brandydeshayzer You'd think that, with a sizable amount of (descendants of) Dutch people living in Canada, they could've gotten themselves an advisor...

  • @GroteB

Those descendants are like, 12th generation by now. I don't remember there being any huge explosion of immigration by a Dutch population recently.

    Also, its a sketch-comedy show. I don't think they really cared :D

  • . . . and Austrians probably find that odd. It's like Monty Python speaking gibberish in German during their own "World's Funniest Joke" sketch.

  • This isn't dutch :S

  • Daryl! I forgot he was in this sketch. That makes this classic sketch even better.

  • I lose it at 2:58.

    Genius.

  • The guy at 1:51 is amazing.

  • Isn't Scott's old man the one he did in the Sausages sketch?

  • @darkb4lightt --Sort of, but it's the same character he played in the Daryl sketch in the first or second season, where Daryl is a Big Brother to an 8-year-old. Scott played an old man who owned an antique shop, and Daryl takes the kid to visit him. "And he says if we visit him seven more times-only seven more times-he will show us his toy soldiers collection!"

  • HAHA!!!! I was in that sketch when I was 17!!!!

  • (Oops. Got the quotes wrong.)

  • OMG....... the way scott hobbles in as the old man makes me bust a gut everytime i watch this clip hahahahahahahahh

  • It's not dutch, it's gibberish :P beeftek? xD

  • Biftek is a French word.

  • Oh! What's it translate as?

  • Steak or more directly beef steak.

  • Shoulda guessed :P

  • Very funny but that sure ain't Dutch! :-D Nor German either ;-)

  • "Vats du feely?"

That old man is my favorite character Scott ever played, and yeah, it's pretty much the same charachter as "Sausages!" Great voice for a decrepid old man.

  • Fuck I LOVE this video!!! It's one of my favorites of KiTH!!!

  • the character Daryll, speaks German... doesn't he?

  • No! He's Belgian! :D

  • Haha! The Daryll guy on the left is the one from "Painting with the Inner Child", right? And the old dude on the right is the one from the sausage sketch?

  • there are only a few guys.

and they are often all in sketches.

  • No dude, I meant the characters, not the actual Kids

  • I don't think it's the guy from the sausages sketch, I think it's from the Daryll sketch where he's the Big Brother.

  • Ohhhh

  • You're right, same character, the old man looking at the painting of the Battle of Waterloo.

"Eskadorn, eskadorn, huh, huh, huh, huh!"

"And if we visit him three more times-only three more times-he will show us his tin soldiers collection!"

  • Hans, horz da manzi Feelyat? NEEEY???

    Horz da manzi Feelyat?

    NEEEY?????

    Feelyat...horz da manzi?

    FEELYAT!!!!!!

  • SHARKS IN THE RHINE AHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • no, it's not dutch... and dutch don't have umlauts

and it does sound more scandinavian than anything resembling dutch

  • it's not dutch, but gibberish scandinavian sounding language

  • He really shouldn't kiss that mitt after handling the meat

  • That's what she said

  • The foot choir is okay, but I still prefer the oompa band.

  • andy jones from codco is doing the voice over announcing in this skit!! awesome!!

  • It's KIDS IN THE HALL, for goodness' sake. Don't any of you remember them?

  • Four crazy Canu... er, Canadians, one of whom went on to appear in News Radio? Barely. It was on very late at night here in the UK. Cool theme tune though...

  • You can call us canucks, It's allright.

  • 30 helens agree

  • This only works because Dutch is a distant cousing of English. I too wish we had several Foot Choirs in America.

  • Wow, this is really hillarious, just - wow.

  • nemontusch trajuki. disastur zun rhine

  • they had to be stoned i just know it

  • It's not dutch its just them making stuff up. Language wise. I agree, though the Rhine newscast is the best part. The sharks make it

  • it's awesome, but not Dutch - I know, I am Dutch :) In fact, I don't recognise any of it, it's a mock fantasy language of some European languages thrown together (language-wise, I crack up at "Disastür zun Rhine" the most :)

Btw, is that Dave Foley in the audience too??

  • The Rhine "newscast" is the best part. :D

  • the audience is the best..they all look like those kids in school that were not quite...right great show !!!!

  • Kids in the Hall is n m f'n beast

  • hahaha

the little kid actually speaks dutch

  • no he doesn't

  • haha the look on Scotts face as he's being dragged by the woman is the best part!!lol

  • I love when theres a huge flood in the Rine river with sharks and shit in it. But then Foley is like "BACK TO FEELYAT!" Oh God I love them.

  • is it really dutch? i dont think so! "und specifica...oot kunde meat?" ha ha

  • Scott as that old man is the funniest thing ever.

  • This is funnier every time i watch this video.

  • scott rocks!

  • "OOT KUNDER MEAT?"

Hahaha, my favorite part of the sketch.

  • mine too.

  • is that really dutch?

  • have you no taste?

    i'd say not

  • i love this skit...i wish that was a real show

  • Oh I love, luv, lurf the Kids in The Hall!!!
