  • the manage window doesnt open for me ) :

  • @o0oMemorieso0o Are you on a computer that you have full admin rights to? If you're on a work computer, your administrator might have restricted access to Management.

  • Did all that but the option for "change drive letter and paths" is not there. Only option is properties. Any ideas?

  • I LOVE YOU! :)

  • i clicked manage on my computer then disk managment but i could not find my usb there why is that?

  • @jets188 Either the USB is formatted to Mac (not compatible) or is faulty. And sometimes security features can stop it showing up until you've completed an action, like a login or something.

  • the same problem my Removable G: Cannot determined i click also disk management thiers no G:files on it , AND AND I try to click C DRIVE AND DETERMINE ..ADD, BROWSE THIRES NO G: to find .. anybody can help us .. pls.reply ur answer on this comment.. thank u

  • i cant find me sd card for my laptop or pc

  • @tenthlobbyhacks The principle is exactly the same. You should be able to right click My Computer or Computer and choose Manage and then go to Disk Management and see if your SD Card is available. If the SD card is damaged or formatted for Mac it may not work, and you may need to format it. Hope this helps. Let me know how you go!

  • thx this save my day :)

  • Thanks very much that's what I was looking for. I just bought a new USB drive today to save some of my useful files cuz I'm formatting my computer, but I couldn't find it once I plugged it in :P

  • hey i got xp and i did what you said but in disk management but it wasn't there.. what do i do?

  • OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH....u really helped me out alot....ur the best

  • i got a danelect usb flashdrive 4gb . and i hooked it up and it said driver succesfully installed. i go and look for it not there..so i did what your video said. i went and got into the assing letter section and i see it but it says that it got no memory.. i run windows 7 64 bit.

  • @Bear5Clan What happens when you change the drive letter? Does it let you change the drive letter?

  • @SpannersTV it won't let me change it. it saids portable device installed but i dont think is recognizing it as a flash drive. i try to go and install the drivers maybe to a more updated version and it wont let me do that either.

  • @Bear5Clan That's really strange, especially since you're installing the latest drivers. The only things I can think of it to make sure you have the latest Windows 7 Drivers (or your Flash USB drive isn't W7 compatible) and to get another USB drive and see if you can replicate the problem. If you can with a different USB, then it's the computer. If it isn't, then the USB drive may be faulty or may need to be formatted. Let me know how you go.

  • DUDE!!!!!! its the same thing on windows 7 THANKS A MILL!!!! u saved everything!!!!!thanks 5/5!!!!!! BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!!

  • i having this problem but it asks my to locate driver software i click yes and it says ready to use this happens very time i plug it in and it not a problem it the hdd cause i plugged it into an other labtop and worked fine please can u help

  • UR AWESOME MAYNE THANX ALOT

  • you are a fucking ledgen . thanks

  • what if i dont have the disk one thing? what should i do then?

  • Dude, my problem is that I am using Windows 7 and when I plug a USB Flash drive (a DTSecure Kingston) it needs to be able to have two drive letters on the fly. Win7 lets one be created but the second one just doesn't happen...the second needed drive is for Data, hence I can access what is in my USB drive - what a bummer! Can you help?

  • Thankyou sooo much i kept wondering and getting worried that my external drive doesn't work but now it does thanks

  • i have an external hard drive and when i try and click on drive letters and path it doesn't allow me to. how can i make it so it's visible?

  • @joshgillispie: Not totally sure without seeing it. Any more info you can give me? If the USB drive has been locked (some companies lock files onto a USB drive so when employees travel with the documents, they can't accidentally delete them), you're pretty much stuffed. Let me know.

  • O.K... Its' my personal computer so the drive hasn't been blocked. Basically, once i get into disk management and i right click on the drive that I want to change, all of the options are grayed out. So i can see the option to "change drive letter and paths," but I just can't click on it because it's grayed out. And actually, it doesn't even have a letter already assigned to it so I'm really confused. If you can't help me don't worry about it man, but thanks for trying!

  • HAHA! I never let a computer beat me! I did a quick Google, and I found that Symantec Pro products may cause this problem. Do you have Norton Internet Security or something like that installed? A couple of forums say remove that (I use AVG Free, have for years) and you're greyed out stuff won't happen.

  • @SpannersTV NO!! haha I use AVG Free as well! This is so frustrating hahaha. Thanks again for all your help though, it is greatly appreciated!!!

  • @mobyguy: sounds like the computer doesn't like your USB device. Go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers for it. Make sure you select the correct version of Windows. If you're using 7, and there are no drivers, that could be the issue. Hope this helps.

  • Mate its gota be said that worked perfectly. the company said the system must be faulty but i just followed what you said and now my external hard drive is in full worrking order cheers m8

  • Glad I could help.
