  • Everyone do the molten metal dance :D

  • so much bloodshed over one stupid girl -_-

    and just because she's pretty.

  • Frollo has a Lloyd Christmas looking haircut lmao. Oh, and his scream, High larious!

  • OMG Frollo screaming XDDDDDDDDD

  • Frollo's Disney scream was better.

  • I think the point is that by the end of the story, virtually everyone has become a villain in some way; the nobles, the peasants; even kind Quasimodo has been twisted at this point. The only true "heroine" of the story is Notre Dame herself; the heroine, and the virgin sacrifice who is forced to suffer for the sins and passions of all the people who seek to exploit her for their own ends.

  • 4:57 you would think quasi was the villian of the movie....or at least the "henchman" of notre dame. lol that laugh was just to mischievious

  • HAHA! I love Quasimodo's sadistic glee. Although I risk sounding worse than Frollo, that molten metal pour was great! If only the beggars weren't so damn unreasonable.

  • 8:26: Oh Snap... how to get out of this one...

  • 7:53 peek-a-booo.... where is the gypsy???

  • Those screams were from the 1933 King Kong.

  • @fliegeroh How Did You Know The Frollo Scream From RKO Was In King Kong From Ninteteen Thirty Three

  • @kaiclay2 - I am a big fan of the original King Kong. I have seen it at least 50 times and studied certain parts of it. The movie was revolutionary for its time (1933). Murray Spivack was the Sound Director for the film and recorded all the screams as well as the roars by the various creatures in the movie. Another movie that some King Kong screams are used in is the 1955 "Kiss Me Deadly".

  • Poor Quasi... If those bells hadn't made him deaf, he would know that the people were trying to rescue Esmeralda, not kill her. Talk about irony.

Also, I think he's having a little too much fun raining molten lead on everyone!

  • @FlippinBooks But it doesn't help that the beggars were using force and violence to "help" Esmerelda. She's not deaf so they could've just called her out and told her what they were there for.

  • LETS DANCE AROUND THE MOULTEN METAL

  • I LOVE WHEN HE'S GOING AROUND THE POT SAYING, "molten metal, molten metal, molten metal." : D

  • Poor Frollo, he never got a chance to actually rape Esmeralda...You pooooorrrr hrony man...psssttt i love you!

  • @LolitaLexi

He got closer in 'Notre Dame De Paris' and 1986 version....x3

  • @LolitaLexi Wth? You sound even creepier than Frollo.

  • Hey Quasi! I need to borrow your shoes for the prom.

  • @africanzionflo ROFL !

  • munten metal, multen metal!!!!

  • quasi is a one man army.

  • Frollo: "HAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAH!" Haha. Gotta love that shriek.

  • Oh Frollo...What a waste of hotness.

  • "Oh my God! They killed Uncle Billy!"

    "You bastards!"

  • Nobody messes with the Quasimodo!

  • Wow you can really see where Disney got the inspiration for the film from this scene

  • I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that those who got caught in the Molten metal shower felt!!!

  • @MJtoonzRulz I think it was supposed to be candle wax ? Either way your gonna die in a horrible way. This is what I was told along time ago

  • piekny film

  • Everytime I see that molten lead pour, I cringe!

  • COMPLETE WITH REAL FOAM BRICKS! 8D

Seriously though, Lon Chaney is a theatrical God.

  • that scream when he get's thrown of the edge. What was that? lol

  • Such a shame he misunderstood. They were trying to save her not hang her. :-|

Cruel of you, Victor, cruel of you....... :-|

  • I love Hugos' work but, taking into account both Hunchback & Les Mis, he must have been bloody miserable.

  • I heard he was unjustly imprisoned and he wrote those two famous works to shout out the corrupt justice in his country.

  • Ah, I see. That explains a lot.

  • @ShawDAMAN But then we would've missed the epic molten metal pour and brick crushing.

  • Go Quasi!!

  • okay I got one...

wait "one" this must be a good movie^-^

there wasn't enough contact between Frollo and Esmeralda. It didn't really really show, her fear or hatered of him or his "conflicting emotions" for her.

still this version had something that the others just don't.

but still to this day, I've yet to see the REAL Frollo in a screen adaptation.

lol, Sir Cedric Hardwicke is without a doubt one of the best, however!

  • i'll be the next one to make the new hunchbakc of notre dame.... i swaer i'll make it just like the book cuz i loved the book lol. im jk but seroiusly i wanna see a modern day color and everything rated pg for death scenes stuff like her hanging. omg i loved this book

  • it just wouldn't be a medieval catherdal without a big pot of molten metal bubbling away up on the roof, ha, ha, ha

  • It's molten copper, they used it to make the bells =)

But you're right, I remember seeing that part as a kid and being like "Umm...okay, random..." XD

  • Oh, God... I think I just DIED!!!! FROLLO'S SCREAM?!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLO WTF? LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! OH GOD!

  • that was just pure gold. what kind of man screams like that?

  • "that was just pure gold. what kind of man screams like that?"

Next time you're being tossed off the top of a cathedral, see how masculine your scream sounds.

  • I agree with you both, that wasn't a manly scream at all but when your falling to your death i don't think your saying to yourself "dude don't sound like a lady dude don't sound like a lady" lol

  • Yes, that was an awfully shrill scream. The highest part of the scream was somewhere between the B and the C above the treble clef.

Does anyone know if Cedric Hardwicke himself did the scream, or was it one of those stock Wilhelm screams?

  • On IMDB it actually said that emeralda torture scream and Frollo dream scream was from the Original King Kong movie, Faye Waye scream for Esmeralda and one of the sailor scream for Frollo, Now I don't if that accurate or not.

  • sorry I meant Death lol

  • Thank you for the information, DallasLTEveFan. IMDB is probably correct. I didn't recognize Frollo's scream, but Esmerelda's screams were definitely Fay Wray's. Since Both King Kong and HoND were made by RKO, the studio probably transferred some of the screams from King Kong into their permament sound library, allowing the sound effects to be used in other films. Studios (e.g. Universal) sometimes do that if they are impressed by certain screams.

  • @beentheredonethatb4

No kiddin... I'll ask someone if I go to Paris to toss me from Notre Dame's bell towers... :P

  • LOL! Sounded more like a fire truck! I think it so funny 'cause, well, he did have it coming!

  • I read the orginal 500 page version in 5th grade. I now know why the story is considered horror fiction

  • why is this considerd horror fiction i'd call it more of a historical/romantic/thriller

  • wait im confused! shes safe in the church! why are they tryin to get her out?

  • because the other guys are trying to kill her so the next day sacuary will be taken away from her so they wanna bring her back to safty away from frollo

  • @MissFit0191

cuz they know the authorities will abolish sanctuary for a day and take her down,so they're trying to save her from them.

  • I love charles laugton when he looks at the pot of molten metal. It's really comic.

  • LOL yeahh that was great =]

  • he thinks they've come to hang her.

  • OH ok...i missed that part. ignore my other comment lol. thank u

  • why is quasie killing gypsys?

  • Go Quasi Go!! ^^

  • i love how the rocks just bounce off people lol!

  • LMAO FROLO SCREAMZ LiKE A GURL

DiS WUZ 1 OF DA BEST PARTZ OF DA MOViE i LiKED WATCHiN DiS PART.

  • it's waaaaay different from the book too. if Disney is hardly 100% true, than this movie is even less. now, for this frollo i didn't feel sorry when he died! still, pls look at 8:08, he does have a very interesting face expression there.

  • I've seen this movie too. I still like the Anime though

  • There's an anime? Where can I find it?

  • Disney's stories are hardly ever 100% true to the story. Notice they do not even have Gringoire in the Disney version.

  • Well i think Clopin was half Gringoire in the Disney adaption

  • i think no adaption of any story is ever 100% true to the original story, it's always changed in some ways.

  • way different from disney

  • Okay there's no way everyone would just form into an orderly triangle during an emotionally charged decision. Every time anyone tries to destroy a beautiful piece of architecture it makes me really sad. Death by lead would be a lot more awful than that, but this is a movie.

  • nice and interesting!
