  • Mother of God

  • Aahh. Sweet American 60's Detroit iron. Pure classic. Rolling work of art. Timeless.

  • this is unbelieveable!

  • how fast will this hot rod go?

  • I love the ending where he takes off doing a burnout, I laughed so hard

  • great car i have a 1969 charger but this is by far the best

  • It is sexy.

  • That car is pornography....

  • What you guys are forgetting is that many large V8 engines of the past were rated below their true HP for INS reasons. The 426 Hemi was rated at 425hp but was much more.

Also even the small block 327 vette engine came in 365hp. So don't tell me " there's no replacement for displacement " isn't true. Also these engines from the 60's had torque. Drop a WRX Subaru engine in my big car and see how it does compared to the little go cart shell it's in normally.

  • @penholder84 These rice burners just aint got anything for good ole 60's and early 70's American muscle. They don't compare and they're not in the same league. You got your big boy cars like this one here and then you got your throw away 4 cylinder crap. End of story.

  • pff that's a reall car,, not like nowadays those "gay" cars,, all eco friendly :( i want a fckin 6 cilinderr biatchh!!!! :P

  • 01008990. Yes the R/T was 440 magnum. Optional 426 Hemi.

  • 14alexjb. Funny you like the 59 Impala along with other muscle cars. Me too! 59 Elcamino rocks. Love the big wings.

  • What motor 440 magnum

  • Prices are down and now is the time to pick one up. My kids will realize I'm cool, after I die and they grow up.

  • you're kids need to realize that they have a cool dad.

  • How much was that one??

  • The R/T cars were 440 or optional 426 Hemi. Both BB.

  • I was a GM guy (Pontiac) but got converted to MOPAR, Now theres no going back!

  • where can i get a car like that i sericely need a car life this?

  • @ZangetsuZRW eBay

  • 1:34 you almost lost recked that beauty.

  • @minibanger007 Naw, I had plenty of room. All you have to do is drop the gas and it straightens right out.

  • big block?

  • @clockwork624 Yes the 440 in the R/T was a big block.

  • @penholder84 o i dident hear u say what engine size but good boy for making it all factory stock i love factory stock the best!!

  • and where's the kicking ass? c'mon i want to see drag races....

  • @MRpieceofshit1 Nope, it's a classic now. I just do slow drives with it. It paid it dues way back then.

  • @jumpinggenerallee01

it's taste, i wouldn't deny it to be popular but that's the last paint job i'd get

when and if i get a 69 charger, it's going to be brock samson's paint job, then more than likely eventually solid black

  • @SkwerlBergamot Not for nothing but the last color I would ever get, is black. Boring.

  • how many horsepowers do it have?

  • @kriss634 440 cubic inch 375hp

  • Please don't make this a General Lee Clone, those are so tacky. Leave the General Lee with the Duke boys, and yes I am a Mopar man. I own a 70 R/T 440

  • @1970HardCharger i dont see why is so wrong for some guy wants to make ther charger a general lee clone i think thats cool they are doing that. im in the Process of finding a 69 charger with a 383 or 440 in it and make a general lee out of it. there alot of people are doing it to there chargers beacuse they want to beacuse they was big fans of the show.

  • @stdudly01 My only thing is this... they destroyed so many of America's greatest muscle car. That's why I hate The Dukes of Hazzard so much . Good luck with your project, they are alot of work... But worth it

  • @1970HardCharger dude so what they destroyed the cars they payed for a shit load to use the show there some cars out there that was never use on the show and and they sold some of them and what they keep they are in a showroom. i didnt have alot of word to do on my charger beacuse my dad started to do one and never got finsh it so he gave me and i finsh it and what i pad to finsh it was about 4 grand all i had to do is paint it hemi orange and the flag. and i was done

  • @1970HardCharger That ain't happening. It's a rare R/T SE car and that's not the type of car you make into a clone from some show way back when.

  • Perfect ! Mint condition ! Respekt !!! Gettin' the chance of ever buyin' one Charger like this is the reason for why I live ! I bet your kids worship you.... awesome car !

  • @thugOgre My kids could care less. My daughter hates the color and think's it's ugly.

  • @penholder84 think you could adopt me and just ride ? :)) just kiddin' man ! Color is beautiful !!

  • That is my dream car. I'm 14 and hear all of these other kids talking about lamborghinis I'm like "Screw lamborghinis, I would love a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE!" Most of the other kids have no clue what it is and I'm dissapointed... Classic American muscle all day and everyday!

  • @buzsaw56 dude i no all my friends talk about is the bugatti veyron n im like dude the fuckin hennesy viper whuped that piece of shit 2 million dollar piece

  • @buzsaw56 When I was 14 it was 1969. Where was I on Saturdays? At the local Dodge and Gm dealers. I still remember standing next to a new 69 charger in the dealer showroom. Great memories.

  • @penholder84 I've only witnesses one of these beauties in real life. If I'm ever rich, I WILL own one of these.

  • @buzsaw56 im 15 and... i never loved any other cars than classic muscle especially the chargers... i remmember when i was like... 4 i had a general lee die cast and i was happy as hell... and you"re right... screw tuners and exotics. Back then... there were real engines... now its almost just plastic under the hood..

  • @derick4767 False and False, Engines are engines. Todays modern vehicles have amazing engines, why? because they can squeeze 260HP out of a damn 4 cylinder whereas in the 60's-70's a big block V8 could barely produce 150 horses. I enjoy the oldies, but I also love the moderns. Todays vehicles are electrically timed to be damn powerful.

  • @sacr3 if in the 60's-70's v8 big block could barely produce 150hp then i would like you to explain to me how does the 440 charger big block produce 374hp? that is a 224hp difference.

  • @derick4767 Not all, of course. It was a bad time for engines because a lot of them produced very little power yet were very large, 5.7L+ Some of course, could produce. But think about it, a 440 only producing 374hp? Don't get me wrong, thats nice, but todays engines, even at 380 can produce 450+ hp stock. From what 50yo mechanics tell me them years were terrible, it wasn't about "speed", the engines lacked HP. So they tried to perfect idle, to the point where they could put a cigg on it.

  • @sacr3 so what ? i would be happy for sure with 374hp. And the sound of that beauty. I'm not getting you wrong. its just my opinion. Still.. i love modern cars but in my opinion i just like old muscle cars engines.

  • @derick4767 and i respect ur opinion, i love the sound of them oldies too

  • @buzsaw56 same thing with me. im 16 and this is my all time favorite car. I love a variety of cars that all my friends have never heard of. For example 78 trans am, 73 camaro, 70 buick gs, 59 impala

  • @buzsaw56 Why be disappointed? People have their preferences, Lambo's are nice damn cars, very modern looks. So are these oldies that just sound amazing.

  • @buzsaw56 Ure so true..i will get a 69 from some fuckin junkyard n take it all the way here to my home....everyone is about the modern cars FUCK THAT AMERICAN CLASSICS...4speeds opened windows, hard music FUCK YEEE!

  • Yes XS29 is how the R/T vin starts off as with the base coupe starting with XP29.........

  • XS29?

  • The R/T which means road and track is a big engine, performance package with the stripe or stripe delete.

The SE is the special edition luxury package with leather front seats and the wood dash plus other fun additions. They made 20,000 R/T cars and 4,000 R/TSE cars.

  • you are so fucking lucky where did you find it did you keep it for generation

  • @penholder84 These days... how many 1969 charger r\t's left ... not a lot. and they are really expensive. You're a lucky man to have one of those. Its my dream car..

  • whats the difference between a regular RT and an RT/SE? is it a performance package? or is it the lower level one? nice burnout by the way!

  • awh man, im going to buy one of them one day. How much is a decent charger RT?

  • Yes aloc001. We be car guys for sure. I had a 70 LS6 Chevelle back in the day and many big block 69 Camaros. GM and Mopar made some great cars. Then there's the other guys. Though a 69 Shelby conv would be nice to have. Ha ha.

  • penholder84,

You have that right,I am in my late 30's grew up car crazy, and now my kids, nephews ect..have interest only in internet and video games,talking/texting on the phone....I used to polish my dads rides, build models help him with general car maint.repairs...I own a 69 Charger R/T 440(bought in 88) and few other Mopars and a 72 Chevelle SS 454(lone GM in a Mopar garage, always liked chevelles)...you are right many nice cars in 69 !! Enjoy burning the tires in your Charger,I know I do..

  • This is my all time faverite car, and hey im a gm guy too lol. i also love the 69 camaro ss, and my other all time faverite is the 1978 pontiac trans am, my dad had a solar gold y88 origional trans am when he was 22 and he got hit by a car, the car ran a red light and fishboned the TA and wrote it off. Me and my dad are thinking of buying a 69 charger and restoring it, were gunna try to maek the dukes car, fave movies and show. you have a beautiful car.

  • Thanks for the nice comments. I drive it a lot and appreciate when others love it also. Yesterday someone pulled over just to watch me drive by. It's time like that, that put a smile on my face. I grew up with cars as my number 1 hobby. Times are different today as kids have other interest. So when others so an interest like on this site. It is truley appreciated. They made many nice cars in 69. But the Charger is a work of art in my opinion.

  • I swear to god, that is my dreamcar. Yours also has the best color, the best stripes, the best sound,, the best of EVERYTHING. I would take this car over a Lambo or a Ferrari any day! And that's not because I don't love those cars...

  • Do you have any videos of your Charger yet?

  • Great car!!! I love the r/t se's they are so nice. I am 18 and recently bought a 68 charger after working for months. I can't wait to restore it so I can drive it. Charger all the way

  • nice video I like the ending

  • Yes, and 4,243 R/T SE's if you wanna get that specific.

  • The production figure is 20,057 total USA, Canada, and export.

  • love those chargers 68-70 for me are all awsome' your car is sweet man really nice.....

  • Ever wonder why the road test times are way off on these old cars, showing 14,15 16 second 1/4 mile times !!

Watch the end of the video, they spin like crazy without holding the brake, solid 12 second cars,we raced these new and thats what they run 4 sec 0-60 and 12's in the 1/4 with better traction .

  • I'm glad you noticed no brake holding. That is true. If I held the brake I could spin them 2 tires for days, I just hit the gas.

  • That's also with 60 series tires which are wider than original.

  • holy rare i mean rare as hell like yer talkin barret jackson rare and yer tearin it up.

    GIT-R-DONE

  • I grew up with these cars. They beg you to use them. They are made for this. It's a Muscle car, remember.

  • oh ya totally agree i just dont think id do it with that particular one for instance i have a 68 cutlass convertable that i restored to original and i beat the hell out of it all the time but mine was a no numbers maching sat in a barn for ten year with out moving plain jane no options (other than convertable) some what un dessirable body style car yours is like striking oil in your back yard and beating on it is like seting the oil on fire and wachin it burn.

    but thats just me

  • @penholder84 I must say, i LOVE your taste in cars.

    ... And I'm really jealous. Really. :o

  • Never be jealous. Envious will work fine. Thanks for the compliment.

  • can u eplain to me waht r/t stands for and what exactly mopar is? thnx. i love these cars but dont know much about em =)

  • Sure. R/T stands for Road and Track. SE stands for Special Edition. The R/T cars had the standard 440 ci engine and could get the Hemi 426 as optional.

    Mopar means, More parts.

  • Im a Chev/GM guy too and my fav car is also the 69 Charger haha.

  • 69 charger, 69 GTO, 69 Camaro RS/SS, their all nice!

  • Nice Charger! What gears are you running? I just built mine and looking to set up a different set of gears that will give me the best of both worlds. Running a little tall right now.

    PFA

  • I have the "sure trac " 3:23 set up in it and that high torque motor has no problem spinning the tires. Oh yeah baby.

  • you should paint her like the general lee, just an idea though, but im sorry im kinda a redneck

  • You are a redneck, cause only a redneck would wreck a Charger R/T SE by painting it like the General Lee. Give your head a shake buddy.

  • im sorry i didnt mean to cause distane with my comment, it wasnt really serious, i dont expect someone to paint their charger like the general unless theyre a huge fan of the show. Im sorry I offended you.

  • You didn't offened anyone. It's great that people love the General, but like posted before, It would be a shame to use a rare R/T SE

  • You made me feel bad for saying that, lol. I'm sorry, that was rude. Seriously.

  • Dont feel bad on my account, I aint much of a gear-head so I didnt understand how precious these cars are. I just dont share the love for cars many others do, so dont feel bad what you said wasnt rude

  • very nice car, the engine is very fresh!.

This is one of my dream cars, but there's a law that you cant import a car if its more than 4 years old, and taxes for cars more than 3.5 liters is 700%. i hope to buy this if i move to the US. cheers!

  • U are Lucky My alll time favorite car my dad owns a 440 but it isnt se

  • nice !!!!!!!

  • ur very lucky.... :P

  • I want that car you lucky bugger. Look after her and if you don't you can give it to me and I will. Congrads...

  • It's kept safe in my garage in an Air Chamber.

  • if u where my friend you would give me that work of art

  • Pure stock with all that power...impressive.

  • Thanks, but todays cars are even more powerful.

  • mayn would i give for this, i'd have this charger over any car, nice car man.

  • is it manual?

  • It's a factory 3 speed auto with a console on the floor.

  • do you know how much these cars go for now a days?

  • 4-5000 for an unrestored one, you could pay up to 50K or more for a finished one, they average about 25,000

  • I wish you had a better camera so I could see everything. I have noticed a few things that aren't totally correct but she is real nice. No disrespect intended. I own a couple of 69 R/T's myself, One my Dad bought brand new and is untouched from the factory. Complete survivor same color as yours but with a black vinal roof. The other an R/T Hemi car wich is also unrestored Survivor.

  • This coming spring I will do a nice clear burn out shot. That camera was not to clear. As for corrections. The rear panel and stripe were gloss, and there was a chrome R/T emblem. Those items have been corrected. Small things like the radiator cap and other items have been replaced. I'm proud to own it , original correct or not. Your dad has nice cars , I hope he uses them like I use mine.

  • Well, driving unrestored hemi car and a 440 car definately has it's risks, but they do run from time to time. They are very much enjoyed you can believe that. I would love nothing more then do drive them more often, but they are worth so much. Building a "clone" car out of a 318 car is the way to go. Numbers don't have to match, decreased value to start and you can actually drive it with no worries of it not retaining the value because of the added miles. Some may dissagree with me.

  • A very common mistake most guys make when they restore a charger is painting the front pannel above the split grill a gloss black. I see yours is the correct matte black. Another common one is the distributor. Factory is the brown cap. Food for thought, small stuff. The SE even had the option of a moon roof which I've seen. Your car is so very nice, you have every right to be proud of it, well done my friend. When the snow melts I'll share some videos of mine. After all, talk is cheap.

  • Could you please tell me how to read the vin number to know more about this amazing cars

  • XS29 means Charger R/T. Just go on the net to learn about Mopar Vin's. Lots of info out there.

  • how much for it. I WANT IT

  • It's not for sale.

  • damn thats nice, but the good thing is you didnt sell it to the dukes of hazzard because they will fuck it up

  • I hear ya brother.

  • You are lucky to have this car!

    Congratulations! : )

  • i want it xD how scarce would a charger be in 10 years tho :-(

  • Very nice car, no import will top that

  • Thanks, I think?

  • ahhh what i would do for that car

  • what does come with that special edition?

  • Simulated wood dash trim, leather seats and chrome and stainless trim here and there.

  • what's se?

  • special edition

  • ah i see

    thanks

  • thats a nice car im thinking about geting one soon

  • It's a buyers market. I have 45,000.00 in it and that's what it would take to make me part with it.

  • I like these mufflers alot better. cause they don't muffle as much as your new hemi ones.

  • That is the correct air cleaner for that car.. And Dodge's 440 was called the Magnum, Plymouth's was the Super Commando..

    440 Hemi. LMAO!

  • Yes, I restored everything best I could to be date code correct. Some "pie tins " that said 440 were orange and some were red for 69

  • 383 air cleaner ... then he says it has 375 horsepower ?? ... WTF ? ... had to be a 440 super commando to produce 375 hp

  • It's a Nov 68, 440/375hp motor in a Nov 68 built car for 69.

  • put a 440 hemi in it for more than 600 hores power

  • Hemi was 426 cubic inch

  • You are the luckiest man alive.

  • Trust me, I paid for it with hard working money, and at first there were lots of issues.

  • hei i know this question sounds a little bit stupid but..can you get a 69 dodge charger brand new?i mean not used..plz reply

  • no you can buy one from a local that has one try craigslst or ebay motors.

  • beautiful- I like when these cars are left alone, too much mods going on,I think. Not too many left. No offense 68chargerlover,that was some time ago.

  • I have a 68 prostreet with a 572. I have the original engine which was a 383.I wouldnt make it factory because it was white with green interior and green viynal top. I was made into a prostreet car in the late to early 80s.

  • Sounds awesome!

  • nice

  • is this video with the factory Hemi mufflers, or the hi-flow hemi mufflers that you had on it when you first got the system?

  • I love that car...in romania you dont see this beast :X sorry my enghlish

  • I live in England, there are 3 chargers, 1 Camaro, and a 1971 Torino where i live, but nobody ever takes them out, by the way, your English is good.

  • :PI want to go to america..:( I hate romania

  • America rocks!

  • I have a dacia 1310'84 with 68 hp :P

  • These are the same mufflers since day one. They are the middle grade. There is the stock type and a louder type.

  • These are the factory hemi mufflers, the ones before this were a tad louder

  • n1 car^^

  • now that's a car!

  • Thanks MM

  • badass car, good work!! :-D and good video too

  • Thanks. Mopars are super cool.

  • that is a bad ass charger, wish i had that, my dad owns a 1965 oldsmobile dynamic 88, 1974GM grandvile and 1978 olds cutlass, and what i own is a 94 grand am and 86 mustang 5.0 that needs work finished lol

  • Thanks, this is a car I wanted since I saw the new models on the Dodge showroom floor back in 1969. Your dad has some great cars there. Any old American classic does it for me.

  • You may be right there. It could have been on the front of the doors. It has been a while since I have seen a R/T I have always been in the the cudas. I am doing a 66 Fury now. Love the old Mopars. That's a nice Charger. Did you do the resto on it or get it that way. I know how much time is involved doing this your self

  • I thought all the R/Ts had the cool front fender scoops. I have a friend that had a wicked 70 R/T 440, auto, 3.91 posi. Seems like he had the flat black hood too. I thought that was done on most of the H.P. cars

  • Hey you're my first post! Thanks, problem is I'm not sure what you mean? Any type of "scoop" that I know of was on the 69 Charger daytona on the top of the front fender. 70 R/T Chargers had the scoop on the side of the doors? Hope that helps. Rob.

  • What Rob said is true but the H.P. cars did not have hood blackouts unless specifically ordered, which came out in '69 as V21 then in 1970 V24 was released. V21 is a blackout an V24 is a lackout that had "440" or "Hemi" painted on it in silver.
