  • I could listen to this all day !!!!

  • all praises to Elizabeth Fraiser !!!!! She's my goddess !!!! Long Live The Cocteau Twins

  • I was listening to a massive attack song and I swore I heard Elizabeth on there and sure as shit there she was. I'm so effin deliriously happy that I can hear her voice again. This is perfection fro me to hear her again....she could read the owners manual for a pinto and make it seem magical :)

  • a gem, jem-like, still with sulty zalty ore

  • @posypity thanks. I'm currently testing out my faerie language.

  • so ill..!!!!!

  • As beautiful as ever. I love Liz Fraser. Her voice is perfect.

  • So good to hear your voice again Elizbeth.

And a wonderful homage to your friend.

  • yes, she was very ill for a while and retired from public

  • Yo lo diría que esto es tango electrónico. Para los giles que no saben leer español les digo: this is electrónic tango.

  • sometimes I'm sick I'm part of a world where everyone is heard about Britney Spears , Rihanna etc and very few about Liz Fraser or Lisa Gerard or Beth Gibbons or Theresa Salguiero or Kareen Anderson...

  • Who cares whether its Jazz, pop, minor key, trihop or any other pigeon hole you want to try and push it in. Its Elizabeth Fraser end of!!

  • @fletch49er : The person who asked "what kind of music would you classify this". If music was not categorized it would be literally impossible to find stuff you want that you have not heard! Many people care, I'm super open minded and listen to everything though.

  • amazing!

  • oh god this song is awesome! her voice is just.. Wow!!

  • She sings with the power and beauty I have not heard from anyone else. A gift.

  • I hate how people criticize someone they claim to love so much. Elizabeth Fraser has always experimented with her vocals and this song continues in that tradition. This is not Cocteau Twins so it shouldn't sound like it is.

    I personally like it.

  • I love this song - what ever happened to the cd that was supposed to follow ?

  • whooaaaaa

  • wow...this is very much like that of a Korean OST! [^_^]

  • I was really quite disappointed when I heard this. uninteresting music plus her vocal probably is by far not what kit used to be

  • this is called Zoomusic.

well thats a funny story,if you like her and her history youll know what i mean.

Zoomusic was the name given to such singular music style.

  • uau, te vuela la peluca

  • Her voice reminds me of GLADoS from "Portal"... Only without all the computer auto-tuning and such...

  • trip hop mannnnnn

  • That banging drum is annoying to me - too prominent for the song, and I want to pay attention to Elizabeth's beautiful voice.

  • (ФдФ)

  • le mystique!

  • fuck yea trip dub tango (su)realism from the queen of the fairies

    so glad shes ok !

  • @customofthesea "ok"? Did soemthing happen to her?

  • I am literally getting teary-eyed over the impact and sweetness of her voice.

  • I have impressions like the production of the song is not finished yet. I love Liz, but this one is like a demo

  • meh

  • Not bad... but the comparison with the Cocteau Twins seems inappropriate to me. I must listen to the whole album, so far I' glad to know she's back!!!

Doesn't it sound a little "Stingy"?

  • Goodness, I adore that sound effect at 0:08

  • kargia

  • brilliant!

  • Why is everyone so agitated? She's not back.

  • one, two, three... Tango!

  • EP! we waited all this time for a $%$#@ing EP!? WTF! OK...gee I wish I had the ability to do for a living what I love. Thanks for nothing!

  • wonderful) a lot of voices togehter, like with c twins. liz fraser, her. voice is like three and more different people, with different feeling.she s magic

also the music.. i really think this song is very original, "new"..

  • Beautiful song!!!

  • I am in love!!

  • Makes me think of sitting in a Paris coffee shop, Galouis smoke thick and yellowed on the walls. A tune that sticks like velcro to my brain. Addictive, otherworldly.

  • I love Lis Fraser, but this seems subpar to my ears.

  • Who cares ,what "kind" of style this is. It's just good.

  • I'm happy that her voice is as good as ever, that meaning there is still hope for a Cocteau Twins reunion. Moses is not really my cup of tea...

  • I'm happy that her voice is as good as ever, that meaning there is still hope for a Cocteau Twins reunion. Moses is not really my cup of tea...

  • it's tango, people!!!

  • I don't know why, but I really don't like this...

  • great song!

  • @adamaglaia...Jazz Fusion??..hmmn...Love this song but...to me its closer to pop ....good thing everything is open to interpritation.. its a''subjective ''question, eh?

  • So happy she's back !!!

  • she has an EP out? why can't i find it......or are folk just referring to the 12 inch version of this?

  • definitely sounds diferent - big suprise for me, haven't expected tango rhytm anyway

  • @DyllamDop i didnt expect country when i heard bluebeard, but they pulled it off!

  • the reason it has a gotan project feel is because it's TANGO.

  • boring drums

  • has a gotan project feel

  • Toda mi vida me ha encantado la voz angelical de Liz Freaser la he seguido pro largos años y me parece q es la mejor vocalista sobre la tierra...pues con su voz produce emoicones inimaginables albergadas en el alma...

  • It's MORE thank just ordinary! Reviews SUCK! Elizabeth kicked ass!

  • I can't understand how this song got so much negative feedback! It is a wonderful, delicate song - at least for me. Cheers, from Finland!

  • Some people have styles of music they generally won't touch, and I'm one of those people. For me the beauty of the Cocteau Twins WASN'T just about her voice, it was also about the atmosphere, the guitars, the keyboard sounds they often used, the drum machine, lots of things! This doesn't do it for me at all, but if others enjoy it, cool. They did enough brilliant stuff anyway, I don't really need any more

  • AMAZING

  • Not worth the wait. Absolutely awful! Thank god Robin Guthrie is still making music worth listening too.

  • Yes but Liz ...Where is the Album? I think we have all been a little too patient ..I nearly had a stroke when you appeared with Massive Attack in Brixton.. Glad your not on their new CD ..its not worthy of you.. Although it would be good to hear you collaborate with some new artists or David Mcolmont..I am sorry for your recent loss in the co-writer of this song x

  • Hello, thank you all! It's melisma, how dborca said :), I did some research and also ask some music artists friends :) That's why it's so catchy this song! And also, I will look for music from all the others techniques that you exampled, because I love human art, in all its ways!

  • I thinks it more trip hop than anything else. but its a bit of a grey area.

  • in what category would you put this song according to music?

  • your question is probably the best comment one has put forward so far.

personally i'd say it is leaning towards jazz fusion. of course there are other elements and reference but the mixture of elements of jazz is most prominent to me.

also the syncopation and instrumentation have made it sound like ballroom dance music.

  • @adamaglaia Thank you so much! Now it makes more sense to me :)

  • @adamaglaia i find it to be a perfect tango rather than jazz :) has a bit of a Gotan Project aliure, great sound from Liz

  • @adamaglaia I would probably say Tango is most prominent given the beat and bass line.

  • @adamaglaia:

Categories have always somewhat bugged me. Maybe it's because they seem to ignore mood or chordal or harmonic structure.

  • @Glomerol

I agree that genres are neither a way for an artist to produce music nor something necessary for a listener to listen a song.. Expressing feelings is the way for both of them.. But categorising a song and searching artist's history can help you track song's influences down and maybe try to understand artist's intentions (if any)

Here for example, among other things, I think you can hear some Massive Attack drumming with a bit of Tiersen orchestration..

  • @adamaglaia

imho its downtempo and minimalist attributes overcome the jazz elements of the song and i also think it lacks the rock dynamics to support jazz fusion..

  • @adamaglaia stop talking shit. this woman was part of some of the greatest musical art of all time. this is coffee table guardian reading shit. period.

  • @kliklikBOOM A category labelled 'SHIT'

  • @kliklikBOOM ethno-jazz-world-fusion-cafe-dub. yeah :)

  • @kliklikBOOM if you like ctwins a la jazz stylings, try victorialand, which features sax contributions from fellow 4ad band dif juz.

  • @kliklikBOOM 4x4 house music. Trip hop and jazz/house fusion.

  • @djkitt no this is definitely not house music ... it's tango.

  • @kliklikBOOM:

    Cocobutter

  • @kliklikBOOM trip-hop, ambient, jazz

  • @kliklikBOOM

It's truly European fusion that gathers forms from latin music with hints of electronica. Very mediterranean. It's going to remain modern for a long time still.

  • one, two, three... Tango!

  • @kliklikBOOM one, two, three... Tango!

  • @kliklikBOOM

I agree with Adamaglaia, about the background music it's a Jazz fusion with elements of the electro-tango, the lead of accordion (or the argentine bandoneon) the downtempo freestyle jazz rhythm, the walking bassline...

but the Elizabeth voice can be classified as the unique Elizabeth Fraser :)

  • @kliklikBOOM it kinda sounds to me like trip hop

  • nu-jazz.

  • @kliklikBOOM: Both atmosphere and vocal belongs to "dream pop" genre.

  • @mavric212212 Dreampop???? Really??? Have you ever heard dreampop or shoegazing music before??? this is NOT dreampop.

  • @kliklikBOOM garbage

  • @kliklikBOOM I would say Triphop.

  • @kliklikBOOM I would categorize it as: Pop, minor key, female, alternative, 16, sad.

  • @kliklikBOOM : It has a few elements of jazz fusion, but it's more 80's alternative/electronic sounding, very similar to "Cocteau Twins" and "Dead Can Dance" stuff...

  • Very nice song indeed! How it's called this kind of sound/ voice procedure? It was used for incantations, if I recall well...

  • melisma

  • @dborca Thanks a lot! :)

  • @cretul1981 I think the kind of sound of this song has a little "Tango" influence, or some Argentinean music style, you can try with "Candombe" too.

  • . . . just lovely to hear her voice again, with that rare artistry that only Elizabeth Fraer can display alongside such an effortlessly silky vocal . . . how she does it will remain an enigma

  • angel voice hits again!

  • Love Liz. Don't like this though.

  • I HAVE THE VINYL. I LOVE U LIZ!!!

  • The song continues to grow on me, it´s a beautiful little number . Really looking forward to more music coming out!

  • Welcome back Liz! I've missed you!

  • Just the loveliest voice ever.

  • its amazing i love it

  • I received the vinal with the mail day before yesterday.

  • beautiful.

  • Thank god she's back!

  • I just ordered Elizabeth Fraser's first solo album that sounds even more creatively original the Cocteau Twins did called MOSES.

  • its not a solo album. its an ep.

  • thank you liz!!!!

  • -_- J'adore.... Beautiful...

  • elizabeth get over yourself and come back!

  • What an asshole : )

  • like getting back with an old lover after years! phew - there have been others in the meantime but no one compares to you ms frazer!!

  • ¡Oh, me encanta su voz!

  • Frazer zawsze jest wspaniała

  • i like anything she does because she's got such a great voice..i wish she'd do more with it though.....it's kinda lost in amongst the music here. was expecting more after such a long wait.

  • è tornata!finalmente!:D

  • Beautiful. Dot

  • Liz Fraser forever young!

  • Nice! Still lovin' Liz, after all these years.

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful song!

  • Well Worth the Wait Liz....so beautiful..!!

  • I just clicked on four by accident :P
