I know that my biggest problem is pulling out the hair that's growing back. I have no urge to pull out the long hair. So if I had hair that just magically appeared that covered up the small one's then I'd be great.
I've had trich since I was a little kid, you pull your hair out in certain patterns, so any shampoo, solution, or anything else that deals with it won't help us. It's a neurological disorder that has to be treated psychologically!
she has alopecia not trch.. her hair falls out on its own,,, trch is completly different,,, you pull your hair out. this will not work... you know what would work for ppl with trich... shave your hair off and wear wigs.. thats what i did
i pull my eyelashes out and eyebrowes okay its HORRIBLE sometimes my hair but you see we don't like to be refered to as "trich" people its a compulsive obbsesive naural thing we do like an itch people say DON'T SCRATCH IT we need a cure
What's meant to happen is the bald patches are being hidden, and at the same time your own hair is able to grow under the net and you can't pull it out through it... After a few months or so they take the net and hair extensions off and then hopefully your hair will have grown back and possibly you will have lost the urge to pull... however it is still likely that you will relapse.
i feel so horrible for catherine [hair model]. People with trichotillomania 'trichsters' are deathly ashamed of their appearances of their head. And for her to be on TV, most likely an infomercial, letting the whole world see her greatest flaw is just..WOW. Either she is really brave or she really desperately needed the money that she'd be getting paid for. Either way, I applaud her for the courage.
I watched the video again and now I'm not even sure if she IS a trichster. But I DID notice how the other two speakers are just grabbing her head and 'man-handling' them, which appears strangely rude and degrading. They are making her flaw/weakness a subject of marketing for a product. Idk, I just feel really shitty about watching this.
As a victim of 3yrs on road to recovery, here's my personal long-term solution that's workin for me: ACCEPTANCE. U must accept ur condition b/c the cure lies within (don't ignore urself and resort to techniques). Instead of running away from stress, we can redefine it. When the urge comes, sit there and allow. FEEL the urge until it dissipates. U can feel uncomfortable but u don't have to suffer. Don't worry. Believe that u have the personal strength to live w/ stress w/out becomin victim to it.
iv had ttm ocd for about a year now and i dont have any hair on the top of my head that is longer than 3 inches. but i really want this done to my hair!!please wright back to me
ok LOOK we so far do not really care about the looks well we do but really we want solutions that will make us stop pulling so you get the volumizer spend a fortune and then pull it out and no we cant just stop! what about all the smokers and nail biters! WHY DONT YOU JUST STOP! you might but it takes time! IM NOT SAYING IM TRICH MAYBE I AM MABYE IM NOT! ( sorry for capps)

What does this have to do with trich? *shakes head*

This isn't a Trichotillomania treatment! She doesn't pull her hair out, she has Alopecia.

This is not a solution. I'd just pull out the extensions. Stupid.

I have trich, and I see all that hair and just think about how much I'd love to pull it all out! It wouldn't work!
