the weakness to beating the reaver on normal difficulty and below that is using a plasma rifle or a3-21's plasma rifle and having a high energy weapons skill. trust me it works i just killed one preety fast not too long ago. or of course you can also use the ghoul mask. so use a plasma rifle to beat the reaver easily if you get some good hits on it with your plasma rifle you can knock out its health bar to half in just about 5,6, 7 shots. just trying to help people who cant beat the reaver easy.

Use the radscorpion dart gun, then knock down their hit points while backing off. I have to say that the feral ghoul reavers do seem to throw the game out of balance. I mean, they have like 1K hit points and are harder to take down than a super mutant overlord.

i got raped several times on very hard mode at warrington train station by a reaver, and after dying about 7 times from direct combat, i decided to lure it into a trap

i used 3 bottlecap mines and about 7 frag mines, all laid out in a pile on the staircase that leads up into the wastes, and got its attention by shooting it with the gauss rifle

then i flat out ran

all the mines blew, and the damn thing still had about a quarter of it health left

it was a hard battle

hardest fight ever... i had to run ahead of all the robots, frag the tar out of the ghouls, place a bottlecap mine, run back and place frag mines along the way, wait for the ghouls to simply run over my mines, and then spray n' pray. even then, they killed every single one of us, excluding me and charon. but i had about 4 bars of health left, after using psycho, jet, yao guai meat, and 6 stimpaks. this is a hard fight. took me about 42934857 tries.
