Fhqwgads, its probably because their mics weren't turned up very loud because I don't think they could sing very well.

actually, Bonzo could sing really well... he did it a lot during live shows, look at a video of the Ocean. JPJ sang a few times, like during Battle of Evermore in 1977. he was alright but not great. if you get one of the audience recordings of the Earl's court shows (May 18th is good), you can hear all 4 and its pretty good. the other voices just weren't included when the soundboard tracks were mixed.
