Lol ok obviously it's a garbage truck with a snow plow attached excuse me for not being specific and stating the obvious. And there were no parking bans During this for those that asked and also no he didn't get away he ended up having to be pulled out by another garbage truck! Took them like 2-3 hours and they didn't even finish plowing the street! -_- gota love NYC.

I'm sure it wasn't the driver's idea to put a plow on a garbage truck. He's only trying to do his job and what either his boss made him do, or an elected city official made his boss make him do. I've plowed snow in New England for over 30 years. You do not EVER send a rear wheel drive sanitation truck out to plow. DPW head should be fired.

it depends on what type of "private contractors" you talk about... we have those down in NJ like little tow trucks plowing and doing a shitty jobs and we have only one good contactors that has a crew of 6 tandem's and 2 louders and 1 backo (my backo haha)

A) its not the plow drivers fault that the plow got stuck

B) him hitting the car is called slidding, it happens when a vehicle is on ice

C) youre lucky that you even get plowed. where i live some of the roads dont get plowed for 3-4 days after

D) if youre gunna complain, why dont you get out of your apartment and MOVE YOUR CAR.

@johnmax77 I do, My father was a plow driver for 27 years. this idiot doesn't have a clue what he is doing and on top of that only a big city fool would call a garbage truck a now plow let alone use one as a snow plow. ineffective and dangerous. too long a wheel base, too long a turning radius. It is no wonder a few inches of snow brings NYC to a standstill. while we think nothing of a foot of snow.

The older trucks had stickshifts. These newer trucks have push-button gear shifts. That makes a difference when you're trying to free yourself in the snow

Good. I wish the car was crushed. Nobody appreciates DSNY in the first place. Clear the street, clean the street, take your tons of garbage with shitty diapers in it and pick up dead animals off the street. No recognition whatsoever. 2' of snow falls in 24 hrs and like magic we want it out of sight. Nope sorry, it don't work that way. People are just hating because they paid a decent salary.
