sometimes i dont get how ppl get so pisses about the cops being in their protest if you got like dozen or so in it then they dont care they might send 2 or 3 guys in to make a barrier for the protest but when you have 10,000 ppl in the middle of downtown of course cops are there in their riot gear you think they are gonna ignore it seattle is the biggest city in the state NOT everybody cared about the meeting or protest they have jobs or classes to go to. the cops were their for a reason

Generalising is a tactic corporations use to feel less guilty about the decisions they make and a tactic for governments to dismiss large groups of dissatisfied individuals who protest against them.

@underground235 totally agree man, but all in all at least the WTO meetings were cancelled, which was the aim of the protests minus the violence, shit still hasn't changed much to this day though, maybe if more protests to this scale could take place, then maybe things would change, or if the exact people responsible could be influenced in some way, things might change, but the human and social costs of these events fucks it up?

If you had studied international law you would know that just because a state's ambassador can sign a treaty with an international governmental organization such as the WTO does not mean that state's government will ratify the treaty. Also states can choose to make reservations on certain articles it finds questionable in the treaty which is what protects us from the NWO. Don't speak of what you do not know asshole!

@1989warren clearly not true! protests during the jim crow laws in the 60's where african americans stood up and resisted oppression made a change in american society today because of their willing direct action! protests for students and workers rights in france in 68 clearly made a change in how the laws are applied in the country today.
