  • the new ad is out youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Rag9jbg5obE

  • Why is this disgusting? Do you realize what drunk drivers can do to people? Fuck shit up that's what people lose family members and loved ones because of your dumb fucking ass drinking and driving. You deserve it if you do it.

  • Yeah they should just write rape into the sentencing already! We all know anyone who commits a felony deserves to take one up the arse so let's make it official (not for women though because that would be wrong). Hell let's make it part of the guards job! It's funny right?

It would be poetic justice for all the blowhards who praise this crap to find themselves in a bad situation like this, but since I'm not a trogledyte I can honestly say I hope you don't get raped if you end up in jail.

  • @GergJG Sorry i don't do stupid shit like drink and drive our commit crimes i have a life to live.

  • Once you start thinking about this in response to women drunk drivers, funny how much more blatently unfunny this shit is.

  • Absolutely disgusting and sickening.

  • High-larious.

Be even more funny if it was understood that women who drink and drive were going to be the ones getting raped by these guys, don't you think?

  • now a music remix

    youtube.com/watch?v=2PNlWc3-6FM

  • it's a shame something like this in england would be banned, the message needs to be re-enforced

  • it's a shame something like this in england would be banned

  • @marcusantonio91 Yeah they just banned this ad now, its rather said actually, it got the message across

  • @QuEFela incidentally I saw this while out in cape town in december, I have family out there and my brother told me about this ad

  • best ad for drink driving ever!, well done.

  • This ad is brilliant. It gets its message, in a sea of pretentious and ineffective public service ads, across with potency. Great job, Brandhouse!

  • Gosh, can you imagine how you guys will be moaning about how there are so many ads trying to curb rape. As soon as those ads come out you'll moan about something completely different.

Surely as South Africans we should rather encourage anti-Zimbabwe ads, yet I hear no one saying anything of the sort. Or how about anti-fraud ads about people helping themselves to poor peoples' pensions?

Brandhouse, congrats on getting your message across! BRAVO!

  • With 14,000 people in South Africa being killed on their roads EVERY YEAR - more than one thousand people a month - what else can they try. As for anti-gay - HELLO - get men together locked up in horrible conditions for years at a time with stress, boredom and anger - and you get homosexual acts - along with sexual violence. Stop being so darned prissy. I think its a very valid advert - go to jail for killing someone on the roads - you'll meet these gentlemen - and more! Their dance card is open

  • Rape is a much worse crime than drunk driving.

  • @DystopianFuture2day Not when you kill someone..

  • I've heard people discussing this ad in South Africa and theres comments such as..."it's racist" its anti- gay" etc etc actually its sexist towards men because women can drink and drive too!!

  • @MsKoorbloh: Sexist to men? I don't think so. From my own experiences, men are more prone to drive drunk. I made this experiences in Germany and South Africa as well. The difference is, that the ppl in ZA drink more and have less qualms to drive drunk.

  • @Fluffel1982

If there was an ad where it implied that women were going to be raped for committing a crime, how well do you think that would go over? Not very well.

  • Rape should never be considered a legal method of punishment, which is what this campaign suggests.

Prison services and cops need to do their jobs properly. And what the hell is wrong with people that the prospect of killing themselves or someone else whilst behind the wheel isn't enough to stop them turning the key? Maybe make an ad showing someone flying onto your car bonnet, or someone getting smashed up against the steering wheel and windscreen.

  • @MFCG01: Where do you see a legalization of rape as a way of punishment??? The ad just shows one possible consequence.

  • Krasses Ding

  • granted, drinking and driving is bad.

threatening people with the fact that their prison system is disfunctional, derelict and corrupt is just another lovely slice of life in big cat south africa.

    Om te kots, man.

  • Drinking and driving is a bad combination. Too bad I always forget that when I'm drunk xD

  • That will work probably.

  • Terrible.

  • What an absolutely stupid commercial. This is anti-gay and not pro safety. It appeals to the primitive beer drinking mind that has the lowest possible opinions of gays. Interesting to note that Brandhouse sells alcholic beverages.

  • @bananenpudding

This vid seems to be a good idea.

You are incline to forget that homosexuality is not accepted among natural nations exceptionally Africa. The overwhelming majority of Africans think gays as mental sick and gays do something abnormal and disgusting. This is the found of this warning.

  • @bananenpudding U stupid from what country are you. This is specifically intended for drunk drivers who put more innocent lives at risk then your average criminal. The ad is no discrimination to gays nor do they sell beer. The reality is this is what will happen to anyone caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The prison is full of unsavoury horny characters waiting to violate every part of your body.

  • @bananenpudding : Well on the effects of this advert it can be speculated. I dont find the commercial to be discriminating against homosexuals. Whatever people voluntarily decide is their business. However getting raped by someone doesnt happen voluntarily.

  • @bananenpudding I don't get what this has to do with gays at all. I have a feeling that most convicts who conduct rape while in prison aren't homosexuals.

  • good one mate...

  • I doubt these guys are looking for someone like me. But I also don't drive drunk... I'm not into suicide. ;)

  • yeah, its not shocking, these guys are choirboys

  • it's not shocking at all, it's funny.

  • If FoxP2 & Brandhouse really wanted to do some good deeds this Christmas, why not campaign on behalf of the rape victims and rape survivors in this country, rather than exploiting their misery through an amusing tongue in cheek advert that’s probably designed to win more awards than deter drunken drivers.

More sobering: SA women are more likely to be raped than to learn how to read.

  • How else do make macho guys ... who think they impervious to being bust for drunk driving .... fear being caught. Fear generally makes all of us good citizens if you actually thing about it.

  • brilliant viral vehicle. Shock effect in place. When this one is picked up by global webmedia, the number of views will balloon up rapidly from today's 22.141. The campaign will have a global impact just becauses of the large number of viewers, and the way we view viral video - we evaluate it more closely, because we want to decide whether to pass it on, on our on profile or to email buddies.

That's my forecast. Will check back for numbers after the weekend

  • This is one awesome advert! I don't see why racism, prejudice, human rights etc. has to be brought into this whole thing. Its an advert highlighting something worth remembering every time you step into your car drunk. Abide by the rules or face the music. Big ups to Brandhouse!!

  • @Kynetic4ce lol were you dropped on your head as a child

  • this is the society we live in,our goverment threatens us around every corner, with prison,I personally thinks its sick, hope pappa wag for the corrupt politicians

  • I have volunteered surprisingly, I worked with some of the rougher examples of our societies neglect including members of the numbers gangs. When a member of your own family is imprisoned for whatever reason I am sure you would be a little more open minded! As for prisoners rights, what about their families rights or do they also deserve to be treated unjustly because they spawned a criminal?

Thankfully we have a consensus supported constitution to protect us from eachothers senseless behaviour!

  • @tranzoid69 i have friends that are incarcerated because they committed a crime. I still love them as my friend but unfortunately im one of those heartless people who believe that :IF YOU DO THE CRIME YOU TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO THE TIME. dont know who said anything about their families?? Im saying they should not be allowed liberties that the rest of us cant "afford. i said limited rights - didnt say they are not human.

  • @jaboet1 I cant disagree with " If you do the crime you take responsibility" but trying to pass off prison rape as an acceptable means to deter criminal activity or dispense justice is simply gross. As for mentioning families I spoke about it in my previous posts. I dont think that the government fat cats need all the perks they are given, or that stopping prisoners abusing eachother would really cost that much it would just take effort, something the powers that be talk about and never deliver

  • @tranzoid69 Stop being so self righteous, this ad is about playing on people's fear. Society has become so desenitized that, TV as an ad media is nowhere near as powerful as it used to be and every human being is inflicted with a healthy dose of "it won't happen to me syndrome". So, as your average law abiding citizen has no idea what prison is actually like, aside from the obviously played upon - "prison rape", it is necessary to play on their fears to get them to actually pay attention.

  • @tranzoid69 - everyone has a choices in life, its not always as easy as good vs bad, sometimes its the choice btw shit and worse. But when you drink and drive you chose that and should be held accountable. you dont accidentally drink and drive? if this ad touches one person enough to make them rethink drunk drving im happy.

  • Great ad and there is no confusion as to what will happen to you in prison. its simple DONT BREAK THE LAW AND YOU WONT END UP THERE.

All this BS about prisoners rites blah blah blah. If you love them so much go volunteer - start a hug a 26 program today. didnt think so.

in my opinion when you break the law your rights should be limited. you do not DESERVE the same freedom as the rest of us because you didnt play by the rules. END OF

  • Rape is a fact of life in prison. If you go in there as a greenhorn lil whiteboy, especially in a place like Pollsmoor in Cape Town - you either become a murderer to survive or become a victim of sexual abuse.

It is a brilliant advert. You want to see why just look for a video here - search for John Mongrel....

  • Goeie fok dis scary!!!

  • This ad is just insulting to the families of prisoners, our constitution and the people of SA! For the record I drink and drive but not in conjunction; and do not work for SA breweries. I do not support the use of crimes against both our constitution and human rights as a mechanism for societal control. Maybe a reminder that prison is meant to rehab dysfunctional members of our society, how do you think abused rape victims are going to contribute when released.

  • @tranzoid69 insulting to the prisoners and their families, to black people, homosexual people, rape victims...

this is wrong and prejudiced in so many ways..!

  • Using the dysfunction of the SA prison system as a scare tactic is moronic.I do not pay tax so that prisoners must live in fear,I pay so that prisoners, are ensured to recieve their constitutional rights, rights which we all supposedly support and if kowingly are not upheld makes us worse than the criminals.I ask this, what do you think drunk drivers are going to be like after being imprisoned and raped?Surely it would be better to execute all criminals rather than torture them and their families!

  • Pappa wag vir jou

  • HECTIC!! i will not be drinking and driving for as long as this video is playing in my mind, nope, no sir!!! very effective advertising brandhouse, the negative comments r probably from people who don't drink or don't drive, or work for SABreweries

  • Not everyone gets raped in jails! (well, maybe not on the first day).

South African jails are hardcore - you'd think that with the amount of law breaking that happens in the country people would be more law abiding.

  • I'm with boerking and noodle. They're not saying prison rape is ok, they're just saying it happens.

  • thats brilliant. works for me. Rape is prison is a reality, i say use it as a humor device. stills shocks and delivers message.

  • Brand fail, Brandhouse – what gave you chops the idea that rape can ever be funny, or is in any way a justifiable punishment for drunken driving? Here's an idea – why not replace the male rapists with some really butch women, promising to rape female drunken drivers; it'll mesh so well with the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women.

  • Very smart Brandhouse Idiots! Let's use the shock factor, and pocket some money while we at it. Let's do everything except fix the public transport system in South Africa. Here's a tip you whops - next time just cut up dead babies and sprinkle that across the road, and film that. You guys are so lame.

  • Pappa wag vir jou!

  • Don't drink and drive then you won't have to worry about the date service.

People complain about rape in prison, it's a reality, the same as drinking and driving will send you there. You dumb enough to risk peoples lives on the road you dumb enough to want to get locked up.

  • WTF? So is fine to get raped while in jail??

  • I think it's sick how we just accept that anal rape is part of the whole package of going to prison! WTF man... and for something like D.U.I...

The govt. should be legally bound to offer chastity belts to all inmates as soon as they arrive in prison!

What kind of society do we live in?

  • Comment removed

  • @winstonnolanct interesting that they removed your comment... I quite liked it...

  • Heavy ad

  • If that won't put you off driving drunk, nothing will! I hope it will prevent the usual carnage on South African roads this festive season.
