I'd love to marry the girl on 1.27. I've always liked girls with that kind of face. I keep replaying this video just for that bit. She looks so soft and sweet and gentle. I bet she still looks nice these days. Is there anywhere I could get a picture of her? I mean does anybody know?
The lady on 1.27 has a nice face, and the woman on 1.34 looks like Martina Navratilova.. The bloke in the band looks like a wanker. Probably how I would look if I was in a music video. Wouldn't it have been easier to just mime?
the choreography in this video is awful and the facial expressions or "acting" totally trivializes the emotional tone of the song. also a huge fault: making garfunkel's harmony LOUDER than the natural melody. bad!

OK it's a cutesy 90s video but ignoring that I wonder if EBTG ever knew how they had absolutely nailed this song down. It's the best version of OLBINY because their harmonies are so good and sweet. I play it once and all I want is to hear it again.
I'm a huge EBTG fan, and for my taste, I liked their version better. Does anyone know if this is available other than just this video? I have this on dvd, but have been unable to find just the song.
Very interesting idea for a video that is somewhat spoiled by the lack of facial expression at the beginning. Overall, I liked both the video and the cover; it wasn't basically a rehashing of the original with different singers, nor a complete 180 but rather it's a retooling that still pays homage to the original which is what a good cover is about.
of course the original (simon garfunkel) is the best, this version is more of an artistic expression by the "everything but the girl" band, re. the song, its for art's sake
You're absolutely right...I never understand why pop groups bother covering these songs as they'll never be as good as the original and they just show themselves up
Love simon and garfunkle, but this is such a better version, heard it in a cafe one day and took me ages to work out who was singing it, really makes me tingle when played loud!

Cover is nice, but diminishes the emotional impact of the original by smoothing some of the rough spots (rough emotionally) and drowning the melody with harmony at some of the most poignant spots. Also almost loses the stunningly beautiful bass part of the original: something similar is audible in the background. Video is nice!
the video sucks but a good cover

A nice song but adds nothing at all to the original Simon & Garfunkel version.
A good cover should bring something new and this doesn't.

I've always thought she looks like Rodney in Only Fools and Horses. Or has that already been noted?

This version is ok. But is nothing compared to the original!

It was. Otherwise, we wouldn't be reading this, yes?

Of course most of the credit goes to Paul Simon for writing such a fantastic song, but they could have easily ruined it. Which they didn't. Good job!
