  • the video sucks but a good cover

  • i love this version and the other one balls to the comparissons and just njoy

  • pure class!

  • Great!!!

  • Always good to listen, again, again and again...

  • A nice song but adds nothing at all to the original Simon & Garfunkel version.

A good cover should bring something new and this doesn't.

  • I'd love to marry the girl on 1.27. I've always liked girls with that kind of face. I keep replaying this video just for that bit. She looks so soft and sweet and gentle. I bet she still looks nice these days. Is there anywhere I could get a picture of her? I mean does anybody know?

  • The lady on 1.27 has a nice face, and the woman on 1.34 looks like Martina Navratilova.. The bloke in the band looks like a wanker. Probably how I would look if I was in a music video. Wouldn't it have been easier to just mime?

  • I've always thought she looks like Rodney in Only Fools and Horses. Or has that already been noted?

  • This version is ok. But is nothing compared to the original!

  • If not commented on, Beautiful Message. Beautiful Words. Unspoken. How is that possible?

It was. Otherwise, we wouldn't be reading this, yes?

    Stephen.

  • It's a nice cover, I mean, it's not bad, of course there will be no version like the original anyways. Now, the video... it sucks big time!!

  • the choreography in this video is awful and the facial expressions or "acting" totally trivializes the emotional tone of the song. also a huge fault: making garfunkel's harmony LOUDER than the natural melody. bad!

  • I love EBTG but I can't decide if I like the video or if I should feel embarrassed by it

  • Stellar.

  • @ lavenderjane. Thanks for the heads up! I only thought I had everything! lol

  • This song is really great... EBTG makes it even better than the original...

  • @Zocawa This is still nice, but i'd have to disagree with that.

  • i notice thir mouths aren't moving...lol

  • Really nice arrangement. I like.

  • I love the sound. One of my fav s&g songs

  • just realized they weren't moving their lips...lol

  • I'm a huge EBTG fan, and for my taste, I liked their version better. Does anyone know if this is available other than just this video? I have this on dvd, but have been unable to find just the song.

  • @toneman909 Yes, you can get the song on a 1996 import compilation called The Best Of Everything But the Girl.

  • @lavenderjane1967

Great compilation, my favorite for long walks in Boston.

  • Not familiar with EBTG even though I have heard the name before. This song is my favorite Simon and Garfunkel song ever and they do it beautifully!

  • such a great version of one of the best songs ever written!

  • it just makes you floot away!

  • Nice.

  • Así o más bella ésta rola?

  • A brilliant cover of a fabulous song

  • I really like this clip, however Ben chewing gum makes it seem like he's singing.. which spoils the effect of singing while not singing

  • Very interesting idea for a video that is somewhat spoiled by the lack of facial expression at the beginning. Overall, I liked both the video and the cover; it wasn't basically a rehashing of the original with different singers, nor a complete 180 but rather it's a retooling that still pays homage to the original which is what a good cover is about.

  • Great song..of course, well performed, superb harmony.

  • This song is so damn good that I even like my mother's version.

  • Lacks the emotion in the vocals that Paul Simon gives.

But hey, good cover, all the same.

  • Fantastic version of a brilliant song.

  • Tracys voice.........amazing, please come back for some gigs!!!!

  • I love this melody. I love these guys, the way the harmonize so well. EBTG is brilliant. .

  • this is very good

Of course most of the credit goes to Paul Simon for writing such a fantastic song, but they could have easily ruined it. Which they didn't. Good job!

  • A legendary Song... So fu awesome!

    Greets from Germany!

  • monkey town to middleton with love

  • Hal Hartley. My idol. My inspiration.

  • Excellent cover! So "Airy"...

  • Saw these in 1986 at the Royal Albert Hall. Fantastic. This is better than the original.

  • They lack the power or simon et garfunkel, but if that is your thing.

  • awesome - v nearly as good as the original

  • Tjee,sounds good(as i am a Simon fan),who are they?

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM !!

  • Ben and Tracy are really made for each other...Forever ETBG.

  • Great light in video :)

  • I really love Simon and Garfunkel music but this cover is great. I like it more than original from BOTW album!

  • I'm speechless... Awesome! Thanks for sharing...

  • This performance is art! And the kind of doing it is so well-done, sympatically and right done !

  • of course the original (simon garfunkel) is the best, this version is more of an artistic expression by the "everything but the girl" band, re. the song, its for art's sake

  • It's weird how Simon and Garfunkel's sounds more, I don't know -- modern?

  • this is the song that actually got me into simon and garfunkel! nuff said really!

  • Yes - this is indeed a lovely vocal arrangement but nothing will ever touch P Simon's vocal passion....

  • You're absolutely right...I never understand why pop groups bother covering these songs as they'll never be as good as the original and they just show themselves up

  • wow - really !!

  • If you like this you should listen to "Julie" by The Levellers.

  • it should mean: really

  • It`s art of it`s best work! It`s realy art!

Thank you Tracy and Ben! ; : ))

  • the major 2nd and minor 7th in "here I am" are beautiful

  • Love simon and garfunkle, but this is such a better version, heard it in a cafe one day and took me ages to work out who was singing it, really makes me tingle when played loud!

  • What a great song and video.

  • nah , this a better version than simon and garfunkul - class !! probabaly ebtg's best track

  • lmao this song is soo good.. simon and garfunkle of course are the best version

  • agreed

  • I've heard of fakes miming to music on videos but I had never seen miming to fake singing on videos!

  • bellissima canzone.. anche la cover è carina.. non conoscevo questo gruppo..

  • beautiful cover!

  • Nice job with the cover. Well done.

  • Great cover and video!

  • i am disappointed by the lack of junglist action in this cover

  • i think you're mixing it up with another song on Bridge album, perhaps "Why Don't You Write Me?"

  • it's a verry great cover of s&g.

    i like it so much.

  • great great stuff!!

  • I don't like the video but I like the cover.

  • Tracy Thorn so looks like Nicholas Lyndhurst from Only Fools and Horses!

  • Great song. Great cover. Great video

  • Strange strange video........

  • What a tune, this cover is definitely better than the original paul simon version - who cares about the video the song is quality !! ebtg fairplay !!

  • I think this is a great cover version and the video fits the song great. I'll look deeper into EBTG, about whom I know little...

  • great song, I love EBTG

  • i like it, i love the song, i made a video to this song from stuff i filmed while in NYC. What a great song, its nice to have people remaking it for all the young ones out there that never experienced Simon and Garf. Great job guys and gals. ill watch this plenty.

    thanks

  • Good version of what is fast becoming my favourite song.

  • cool video. when i first started watching it i didnt realise that their mouths werent moving. that was original.

  • Cover is nice, but diminishes the emotional impact of the original by smoothing some of the rough spots (rough emotionally) and drowning the melody with harmony at some of the most poignant spots. Also almost loses the stunningly beautiful bass part of the original: something similar is audible in the background. Video is nice!

  • I agree with both of you, The clip is genius, beautiful and a great cover

  • You're insane. This clip is genius. Hal Hartley knows what he's doing.

  • This is such a good cover of a great song, I love it, but I must say this video was disappointing.
