By 1987 he was over drugs and booze but he didn't tell anyone about his heart and due to his past abuse, the damage was done, so thats what he died of, lets not gloss that; it was mycrodatis aggravated by his actions.

I know he was such a gifted musician and actor, but that pain on his face looks real... if I didn't absolutely adore him, this would be hard to watch with the obvious pain he's displaying. Also a commercial interest from Stigwood's side (his manager)eventually lead to his solo career as it would definitely enhance his success as well as RSO's. Andy never discarted the possibility of joining his brothers though and this has been often discussed publicly but Andy died before even making up his mind about it.
