I have it right now. A few months ago I had a spontaneous tension pneumothorax and I still have a small pnuemo. The Drs are afraid that the pneumonia will cause my lung to recolapse again and if it does I need a chest tube and lung surgery being that this is my 2nd time it's collapsed the pneumonia is in the same lung that collapsed. And ontop of that the scar tissue from the collapsed lung is making it 1000 times harder to breathe with the pneumonia

I've had pnuemonia 7 times in the past 3 years. Each episode gets worse. I have been hospitalized 2 times. 1st time 7 days, 2nd time 8 days and icu. My doctor is just discovering that we need to find out why I keep getting it.

I've had pneumonia 3 times in the last 9 years. My last time was horrible, I was in extreme pain and woke up every 30 minutes of the night. I couldn't eat or drink and I felt like I was slowly dying. So I finally went to the hospital and I told them I have pneumonia and they was like what makes you so sure of that? Because I had it before. They took x-rays and sure enough, they said I have walking pneumonia even though I couldn't even walk. Afterward my g/f left me. I was to sick to talk to her.

Thanks, I quit smoking and started taking vitamins, staying healthy as possible. I started working out to reduce my stress and feel much better than I have in my whole life.

I have it now, too. I am on Antibiotics. I've been sick since December 16, 2009. It recently got worse 4 days ago, where I found out it was Pneumonia. I still have fever and heavy coughing. I hope it goes away soon. It's the freaking Holidays! :(

pneumonia actually isnt caused by smoking or drugs. that just makes it worse like having athsma and pneumonia. a simple cold can get you pneumonia. if you have a cold go outside in cold weather not takingcare of yourself when your sick.

I'm here doing some research on pneumonia since my cousin is very sick with it. All I can say is if you are young you shouldn't be getting pneumonia unless you neglect your health or are seriously weak. Well that is what my cousin gets for smoking up nearly a pack and a half a day compromising her body.

Why don't you learn about something before you make such a stupid assumption. Smoking has nothing to do with getting pneumonia. Its a bacterial infection. Or in rarer cases a viral infection. People that have never touched a cigarette and are perfectly healthy get it.

dam I thinkI got pneumonia too I was playing my video games when I suddenly for no reason and without simptopms began to feel very tired my head was spining then it was like my head was on fire I starded caughing then my throat was like I had swalowed a cactus my temperature hit 40 degreece and my blood preshure went sky high and all that in a day in my house(I dont have problems with hygien and I actualy dont get sick often)

asthmetic complications and pnemonia aren't a good set of medical ailments. i have had "near-death" experiences from these complications. the pnemonia only made it worse. in fifth grade it happened. shortly after my birthday in january. the 22nd i belive was the time when i started to feel a sharp pain in my upper back right next to the shoulder blade. sson after,i was dealing with nearly uncontrolable asthma attacks. and the weeks untill the emergency room visit were inconsolably painful.
