I suppose Joe Dolce keeping Ultravox off No.1 was the 80's equivalent of Engelbert Humperdinck keeping the Beatles off No. 1 in 1967, either the novelty factor or the sentimental reason. Got sick of hearing Chuck Berry's 'My Ding A Ling' in the 70's too. Also "Two Little Boys" and "Grandad" ~ how many great records were kept off No.1. Had to keep turning my radio off!

@SuperNevile That Lena Martell song kept some marvelous music out of no.1 spot in oct 1979 and Dr Hook were thought to be no.1 and there was a mistake as it wasnt no.1 and Martel was instead and Dr Hook the following week. But there were better songs as well that didnt make it to the top at that time.

I LOVE this song as I had commented on it earlier but the ONLY thing I find disappointing with this performance is that she just stands in one place&hardly even moves.This sounds like the kinda song that a singer should be moving around the stage to but she just stands there EXTREMELY awkwardly as if she has NO clue what she needs to do with her hands&feet.I don't believe in insulting she sounds GREAT but I just couldn't help commenting on that. A bit of a boring performance for lack of moves.

I bet if you looked at any performance from that time you'll find it much more restrained than a modern performance.

Do you have a clip from later on in '81, round about May of '81 when Adam & the Ants Stand & Deliver was at #1 and they actually called the Top Ten countdown the Video Top Ten?
