Anyone who sings should take piano lessons, if possible. Even if you just take it as one of your electives (if you're in school), the theory will really help and you might even get to the point where you can accompany yourself. If you can't take lessons, you can certainly teach yourself... there are tons of useful books, not to mention free, online resources!
