The dome was thermoformed out of plastic - as were the sensor bumps

I tried to build one once and found they are quite a complex shape. My attempt failed and all that is left is an eye and gun. Attempting it though makes me appreciate more your hard work on a fantastic job. Well done:-)

I used to have a Dr Who annual bought from the BBC that had full Dalek construction plans in it the build one exactly the same as the mid '70s BBC props. I remember the spheres on the side where lavatory cistern ballcocks.

Fantastic work! Ok, question; I'm aware of the various Dalek Builder's Clubs and information i can get online on HOW to make these, however, im curious.. Ive always wanted to build one, but never built anything on this scale before... would you say a complete amature could build one of these with the correct instructions and a bit of common sence and commitment? Or am i going to need assistance from someone who is familiar with woodwork/ fiberglass etc? Thanks! :) ~Jonathan~

I didn't use any instructions... I couldn't find any.

Mine still looks pretty good.

But yours is better.

If you're up for it, you could add some battle scars on the dalek's head.

It'd match the base.

Oh how cool! Well planned, looks relatively easy (Compared to others and the price you have to pay to rent or buy one) which is awesome because it gives me hopes of maybe doing the same someday. A lot of people use ball-cocks from lavatory cysterns, cut in half. Indeed the BBC did once, to cut costs. They are sturdy, the right size and reasonably cheap
