my mother is chinese and she and everyone i've met from that side of the family is horrified by the prospect of eating a dog or a cat. don't blame an entire country just because a small percentage of a specific ethnicity does some horrible action. some americans fight dogs, but are we to generally state, "americans fight dogs?"

@elsweijde bullshit. cows and chickens are diseased every day and die in a horrible way. this is just as bad as that. animals should be treated with respect. dogs are animats. and so are cows and chickens. ifeel sorry for these dogs. i wish i can just take every one of them home. every animal should get equal respect. that means cows and chicken can graze where there is open land and given anitbiotics. just like we nurture dogs.

I'm glad this was shown on Korean TV. It's very painful to watch but it shows the shocking reality for the abandoned /abused pet dogs in Korea.

Somewhere in the clip a vendor even claims pet (smaller) dogs taste better than the big ones.

Dog meat business is dirty and cruel and saturated with lies - lies to make customers happy so that they can continue to eat with a clean conscience. But for every served dog meat plate, a dog, tiny or big, was handled and killed with elaborate cruelty.

Thanks for exposing this my friends. There are no "food dogs" that are different from other dogs, dogs are all wonderful no matter that they were "bred" for the meat business. I sincerely hate the human race for allowing this to go on...if the vast majority of people everywhere stood up and said NO MORE and went vegan as well, to not be conflicted hypocrites, all this idiotic torture and abuse would end. Payback cannot arrive for this awful species soon enough.

I will never understand that you can look in the eyes of an animal , and then (let) kill him to eat . How so many Koreans, Chinese and Vietnamese this without any hesitation can, that goes my sense above. But how to stop it ?? The rest of the world will not boycott this country's for animal suffering. Economic interests are for them always more important than animals.

And China already owns more than half of the world. !!

I have been to many channels discussing the dog meat trade.

If you are upset by the slaughter of dogs for their meat, I assure you the tradition is dying out in Korea. China probably will continue eating dog because they lack the money and food to eat like America. They need to live off different things, i.e. Dog.

@FearTheJo It's not only the slaughtering. You're right when you say the dog meat consumption in Korea is declining. But it's a long road to go and much work left. You'd be surprised how many young people (including girls) who are very adamant about the false claim that dog meat is a fine Korean tradition (which it is not, I'm Korean and know historical facts have been embellished by pro-dog eaters). From them, I never hear a single word concerning the cruelty that the dogs suffer.

But it is also not OK to force dogs to live inside tiny wired cages, give rotten food, no water, transporting them in even smaller cages, hang them by the neck & beat them to death; the longer the agony the better they say. Do you agree?

What the "fat white man" does has nothing to do with the current topic were discussing. And no sane person in the US thinks stabbing a cow is OK.
