Samsung Kies & Galaxy I9000 Firmware Issues can be solved by

-Removing SD card on Mobile

-USB debugging Mode off

-Computer Antivirus, Firewall in turn off until restart mode

-Computer Bluetooth and other hardware connected to be unplugged/switched off

-Install Kies and connect Mobile with "Samsung Mini USB" cable only.

-Prefer High speed Internet over Ethernet port to avoid "Timeout"

Do not touch any buttons during upgrade and the firmware will update over 30 minutes Max.

If still issues persist try to solve the problem using the same precautions over an another fresh computer.

hi, just to say i downloaded samsung kies 1.5.3.10103-100 to my pc then plugged in my galaxy s and it worked got 2,2,1 on my phone a lot faster. to get this version type in samsung kies  go down to bottom of page. you see goooooooooooooooooogle then go to page17. SPFLYSOFT. GO DOWN TO DOWNLOAD and intsall to your pc . ive been trying for two to three months and got it hope this helps, hope someone sees this .

Still cant get my SGS to work with this software, running Win 7, also tried Win XP. Tried every version, even the new Mini Kies.

I can connect in Mass storage and using 3rd party software to transfer music and films. However, wont be able to upgrade to 2.2 as even Samsung cant give me a way to make this work

Those having trouble connecting with Samsung galaxy, make sure you have the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or higher. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Also, when you enter Samsung Kies, update it and then "Recover drivers" in the top left menu.

After 4 hours of research, I finally got mine to work by doing that

Samsung Kies and SGS don't get along at all. I'm using Win7 & latest version of Kies

Sometimes Kies displays "connecting" status forever, sometimes it doesn't even do that, sometimes I restart the phone and it connects - don't even think of disconnecting it cuz next time it doesn't work. Sometimes win device manager says it cannot start usb conn for the device(driver corrupted) and sometimes It even shows phone as windows device - WOW

I think this is the most shitty software I've ever seen.

Having tons of trouble with Kies worked fine at first now wont connect my captivate, wish a good video was out there with complete set up of the droid phone so I could see if I made a dumb change by accident. Kies software keeps giving fatal error message. Also I have the Monte GT-S5620 and it says the samsung apps are not supported by this phone when trying the Samsung Apps.

Some cool functions but usually I have to un-install and re-install the software for it to work. But only works once after the initial installation. Bit crap really.

Samsung KIES sucks big time. I'm using it for my S8500 Wave. I couldn't update my firmware with the latest KIES. I kept getting an error while updating. Also, it's a pain to get your phone connected to KIES. For some reason your KIES may not recognize the phone.

Also @Adam, if you have the latest KIES, you can select your country in Samsung Apps on the lower right corner (scroll all the way down in the Samsung Apps widget).

1) SGS/Vibrant looks a lot like the 3GS? no, it doesnt, (its 9.9mm thick, just like the iP4, 4" screen, lock btn is on the side, etc).. but even if it does, whats wrong with it? you dislike the 3GS? actually, if you wanna go that way, SGS is a 3GS done better.. way better.. so much better that it outshines the iP4..
