Whole game is about socializing, why you would want your own server is beyond me, this whole FFXI private server thing is a joke, like really your that flawed at gaming you must have it all to yourself, best times I had in this game were playing with others, fighting others (ballista) which most weak players like this have no idea to do, most FFXI players fail so hard at PVP, most players decked out in best gear cannot stay alive 1 min in ballista, so weak.
@Rollz8420 Umm, elitist asshole much? lol I personally believe that this game NEEDS a private server! Once FFXIV becomes wow clone enough to attract people back to it again, people will forget about FFXI, leading more people to make servers, just for people like you and me ;)
When you Copy/Paste that Link, it will Fail to Load the site, then you'll notice it Added %C2% to the Link. Just delete it & the site will Load. It's something Youtube does for HL's.
A handful of Coders/Scripters (Including Myself) have been furthering the pXI Emulation process since the original Dev team got their C&D. Start following Elitepvpers in the "Final Fantasy" section to keep up with the latest projects. PM me for more Info. We also run our own 24/7 Server if interested. :P

PXI has been shut down by Square Enix I believe. Their Website and Files no Longer available. I don't believe FFXI will ever successfully be emulated. If anyone knows otherwise send me a msg.
@xvirus2501 They were not shut down. They shut themselves down. All of the coders moved on to bigger and better things. SE couldn't shut down PXI, because it required an active ContentID to use, so it didn't break the ToS.
how can i get a "working" summoner job? i mean, when i cheat to get instant summonerjob to 75 my avatars wont attack etc and they will have the same name as my char. and the carbuncle ruby quest isnt working. i can only get like 2 weather paterns on each character :S any tips. and the same with dragoon. Plz help me
That's easy... Cause they didn't implement it that as of yet. Advanced jobs can only be added through @commands, and pXI is not near being as playable as the retail servers

Nope. pXI got nothing to do with the retail servers, characters made through a pXI server will not interfere with characters on the retail servers.
