I'm from Poland and we don't have this kind of complicated language... We just have czesc (hello, greetings) dzien dobry (good day) and dobra noc (good night.)
Why do germans have different greetings in different regions? That's like saying Hello in Chicago but saying something else in New York. I don't understand.
Moyn Moyn doesnt mean Morning. Its from the Dutsch greeting "mooi dag". It is a derivate from "mooi" = beautiful, good. It is the same word in Low Saxon as in Dutch.
@Sokrk that's completely right. but actually even most germans don't know that and say "moin" synonomical with "hallo". greetings from aix-la-chapelle (Aachen).
You will need: correct proNUNciation
tsk tsk.

I'mgerman and usually we are not that formal. Everyone says 'hi' and 'bye' ...it's just normal...

Come on, who says "Hallo", just say "Hi!"
Okay, many old(er) people say Hallo, but if you are under 24 years old most people you'll meet will say "Hi".
German and Austrian peole will understand you because that's what they say most of the time.
