  • The video title made me think that I was going to watch porn.

  • I really love science. But how can the human be so smart to how to create a mini big bang yet still cant feed and cloth his own species?

  • @Weekist Humans do can feed and cloth own species, the money and the power are misused by the ones who should be taking care of that! I hate when someone says that we should cut on the science to have more money... wrong. Science makes more money after. Man, money gets to the wrong hands and wrong use in too many places, money use that creates something that will consume even more money and devastation, like war. Presidents who keep the money for them and waste in cars and golden toilets.. etc..

  • @Weekist humans are not equally smart...

  • Ohh, they want to rebuild the big bang? The big bang is false. But if it was true, think about what it did the first time, and according to the big bang theory, the universe is still expanding after the big bang. So, imagine what will happen if this where to work. It would destroy the universe.

  • @FlUdDeStRoYeR94 you should kill yourself for being so utterly and completely stupid. its a scaled model experiment. its not the same size as the actual event smart guy

  • One more thing, they shut down this machine so upgrade it so they increase its power after many successes in the field of science.

  • james cameron can buy this thing now..

  • @milade He can buy 5.

  • Just heard that the LHC won't be running on full speed until 2013. Does that mean there is a 5 year operational delay? If this thing works, I have my doubts, will the scientists who created this white elephant be locked up. The cost pisses me off!

  • @the0fart0machine

at least no one had died as a result, and this is 6 billion over 20 years, how much have our wars and conflicts cost us in the last 20 years in cash and loss of human life? i can much better rationalize the spending of this kind of cash when i know it is going to the advancement of understanding & not the personal agendas of rich, powerful men & the enormous loss of human life.

  • u douche read the title

  • I will take it for 6 billion if it is for sale.....man what a bargain.......there is 6 billion in concrete

  • Darn right KaOssis 6 billion is more like downpayment.

  • i meant 27 km particeltube not 7km

  • this is much more expensive than 6billion dollars.

"7km particel tube cooled with floating helium. and complex filled with latest tech. Yet cheaper than a ''today'' midlesized bridge wich is smaller'

    Like storstrøms bridge in denmark.

Buuulshiat. this cost far more..6billion is more like downpayment LOL

  • The CERN Freemaons Scientist's and the Military are all making big bkack hiole's in the world's econemy, and acting out another fake Crusade for the Holy Grail for dumbfuck's!

  • 18000 kids die every day in this sick world due to starvation and 6 billion dollars is spent on this nonsense how disgusting is that

  • Comment removed

  • to brianzbl watch your mouth i respect other people just a pity you have no manners they are so easy to carry this is whats wrong today 2 many simple disrespectful people like u always remember this u reap what u sow my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @oldred104 wtf? i didnt say anything

  • and all the great scientists in our history COULD have worked on a farm to grow food for the starving people in their day. instead you have everything you ever use, and the land in your country CAN produce enough food for its population. without this kind of research most of the worlds population would be starving, and you might be crying about how your child is dieing from polio. basic research give us the tools to overcome problems that we face in the future.

  • if your going to cry about bad choices in spending look at the 900 billion dollar Iraq war, or billion dollar stealth bombers. no YOU choose to attack science. The same science that has given you the standard of living that you wish to spread.

  • im not crying i just never mentioned these other wastes of money but this is not basic research all im saying is that 9 billion could be spent wiser example the uk government has funded this nonsense yet the nhs cant afford the new cancer drugs this is what i mean but sure whenever these supermen find the god particle then they can create heaven and everyone will be so happy and there wont be any starving kids . i dont think so the rich will get richer and the starving will stay hungry

  • It's not your money, so what are you going to do about it?

  • i work and pay taxes so some of it is my money just a complete waste of money when the world is in financial ruin think about it

  • 'Nonsense"... Excuse me? Do you have any idea how many scientific and medical advances have resulted from our better understanding of how the universe works? Let me give you a hint: All of them.

  • Also you might want to check how much the yearly budget of the USA Military is, and then compare that to the total price tag of the LHC that covers decades.

  • @oldred104 If a country or place is smart, like the US, NATO, or China, they prosper. If a country or place is borderline retarded, like Africa or Haiti, then they suffer and die. Thats how natural selection works, so I don't see the problem.

  • I think it is not successful is it? The LHC???

  • it was broke i think so just delayed

  • absolutely amazing

  • By reading this message, haters officially renounce any and all amazing technological advances LHC may provide.

  • separated at birth:-

    (i)Large Hadron Collider

    (ii) Dalek Reality Bomb

  • Love you :]

  • Just picture stephen hawking maniacally yelling ... "Activate the large hadron collider.... AHAHHAHAHAAA!!!"

    the moral being,

Never trust a wheelchair-bound, metallically voiced scientific genius with a large particle physics experiment

  • This is interesting, but if they seek to re-create a big bang, i would think that they need more space, it could cause a explosion or damage to the surrounding landscape.

  • They are only recreatiing a big bang on a small scale fiveoclockz

  • they started building this in like 1980's how did they know what they were doing back then?

  • I'm not really that religious...But this thing has been a big failure because to many pompous stuck up I'm better than you because my 4.00 astro physics tells me so because I was trained by someone who has no imagination just numbers and Newton TOLD ME SO.. ....F...at X is not a number...It's a letter...true numbers are perfect and defined.. F at X is imaginary like Gravity..Chance =s F and X which equals you lose..

  • Biggest waste of money in the history of mankind.

  • What about the bailout of fail?

  • Get a life people.

  • They all ready did this. It failed miserably..last YR. The recreation of the universe. They blew it...It does not work its been shut down as far as I know. Who's responsible for this site? They think it will work once they turn it back on and fix the problems..They are so messed up with their logic they don't think outside. I spoke with these guys.. There laws keeps them from outside thought. It's a good Idea , No one listens...bye..

  • fear is a natural response for those with religous tendancies

  • @gillcorskey Fear is for those who don't understand something. I am religious and I am not afraid of this nor of a black hole created by it. Please don't assume that religious people lived under rocks untill now the next time you post a comment simmilar to this one.

  • dude if ur right.... omg.... things will be perfect....

  • how are the particles been detected?

  • All that money and Physiscists won't even reply when you enclose a stamped, self addressed envelope.

  • that's becoz they don't think your letters are important

  • Perhaps there are people who would not reply with courtesy when stamped, self addressed envelopes are enclosed. Me? I always reply , even to morons.

  • Maybe that's why you waste a lot of time doing pointless things. Seriously why did u even send these people a letter? And why do you expect anyone to even read it let alone reply? You'd be better off giving them a call or sending an email... I'm sure you'd have better success that way.

  • Unfortunately the 'great and the good' do not give out email addresses or telephone numbers for unsolicited contacts. No theory was proposed in my letter to one Physicist, I just gave general information re my Laboratory experience and asked ever so nicely if we could discuss gravity based on my experiences.

A reply to the effect, "Get s-----d", I feel would have been preferable to being ignored. However, the last laugh will be mine whan the LHC fails to detect Higgs particles.

    Cheers James

  • how is it that everyone is an expert or a skeptic?

  • lol youre so right........

  • what happened to the black how all the paranoid people were predicting? I bet they are the same people who are obseed with Nibiru, new world order and all that stuff... the same people who are loners, virgins and mis-fits of society.

  • Actually according to Einsteins Theory of Relativity, Black Holes can be any size, and therefore can be super small too! Only requiring enough mass in a certain space to make them. So the LHC could very well be a Black Hole Machine! We can only hope the Steven Hawking is correct in what he calculated, or else the whole planet is screwed.

  • The Small Hadron Collider will be this holiday season's top selling item.

  • so we are not going to die good

  • your comment holds nothing. Just what to expect from you.

  • oh for the love of fuck!

You just confirmed that theists in developed world are idiots. Confuckinglations!

We don't believe something if it isn't supported by some good enuf evidence. (we are never 100% if this is true, but the more evidence, the more sure we are). Isn't that the basic logic? Seems you just don't work with logic (idiot).

And what defines free will? Its not free will, it has alredy been predetirmened by laws of physics. But you still live in a religious matrix.

  • If God were to allow this planet to become a black hole I sure could not blame the Maker. Afterall who are these scientist who think they can be so wise yet so selfish with all the billions wasted instead of saving mankind.

  • cant wait. beam us up scotty.

  • What you reap, you will sow. ;) Nothing will happen. The world will not blow up or be sucked in a black hole. But you never know;)

wikipedia. And god would stop this if it was so terrible. Nah, but maybe science can explain why we all exist or what it looked like when all was created. And maybe some worlwide religious cults that kills, will even vanish after LHC, and the world will than be a better place for us all. But maybe some cults are too brainwashed & stupid.

  • If the Christians have faith, then they should have anything to worry about with the LHC hmm?

  • Most religious people 'think they should' have faith. Of course deep down they don't, which becomes evident in certain life situations.

  • @HiAdrian Religion: Story or sort of laws created to control huge mass of population. If you make bad things you go to hell, you if are a good guy, you go to some place that you are certainly going to like. This two laws kept people away from doing shit, problem solved. Religion slowed our evolution process a lot. But now, there is no reason to still believe those things, its time to stop the fantasies and look up to the real world, were we are, will be and will die.

  • Link this to all religious fundamentalists:

    tensimplefacts blogspot com

  • wow, that's alot of hate flying around!

  • Yeah, something that could advance our understanding of the universe is a waste of money right?

Man people are so stupid. we waste money on so many more pointless things.

  • whats funny, is I am the one keeping my cool, talking only about the subject

while you on the other hand ONLY dish out profanities, insults and personal attacks.

How about you give me an arguement other than repeating the same crap over and over again?

    I fail at what exacty?

I fail at seeing things from your point of view.... I'm sorry, but the only way to see your point of view is if 95% of my brain cells died

  • LOL, and saying "Nope. Sorry, you fail." Doesnt make u sound that way?

u argue that atheisem is a religion, try telling people what god is, and then to anyone else who has different idea's ur reply is "You fail"

Then when they bring up points you have no chance in hell at making comebacks too you resort to "u suck and u are a loser."

I will say it again "you sound like a cry baby and that you haven't gotten over something someone has done to you. What ever was done to you, get over it."

  • LOL, are you serious?

    Pure and Good IS NOTHING.

Pure and good are words created by human beings. Before we existed, what POSSIBLY be BAD and or EVIL? A star exploding?

So basically everything BAD and EVIL in EXISTANCE is ALL man made.

So what you are saying, is God is all the matter and energy in the world, everything in the universe, BUT humans. That is saying we where not created by "god" (the bible says everything god creates was created from himself)

  • and the whole point to god is that he created us.

So by saying humans cannot be a part of god is like saying "God is all the matter, and energy, and SATAN is all the humans")

ARE YOU A SATANIST?!?! I think you are

    also "

  • humans cannot be part of God because they are cruel. "

Makes you sound like a cry baby and that you haven't gotten over something someone has done to you. What ever was done to you, get over it.

"God is not everything." good sir is Blasphemy. If this was 200 years ago you would be burned alive for saying something like that ;)

  • One last thing. I am not religious. I believe every living being is a god in it's own right.

I believe in the fact that SOMETHING created us. I also believe it is JUST as possible that we created ourselves. Maybe we don't even exist.

the point is, NO MATTER my believe, I do not going around saying shit like "Your believes are wrong" or "You fail" or "You are an idoit for thinking that". I understand every1 is allowed to believe what they want, and it is not my job to tell them they r wrong

  • IF there was a god, then it would be a sum total of EVERYTHING. not just the good parts.

This is why I believe IF there is a god, that SATAN is actually his other face

They teach Love everything equally, then say HATE satan.

They say god has all the powers to do good things (which he hasent done a noticeable miracle in how long) Yet anything bad is blamed on SATAN.

Satan is what they use as an escape goat so they don't have to admit that EVERYTHING we go through is due to the SAME god.

  • free will

you got the freedom to do wrong..it`s up to you,

If you go by Your Consciousness, or your Ego...denying the first in that way

  • Holy Shit! The first big bang's explosion made the universe right? So even if they make a weaker version of it, it'll still have the potential to destroy this planet! These people have to be stopped!

  • this is why your not making it Mr Scientist

if it really had the force to do so dont you think they WOULDNT make it

  • Hmm....interesting point

  • this is the one in switzerland?the one they're using to play around with matter and antimatter?

  • no its in france

  • moron...... go read a book or something

  • i don't, but by looking at what you wrote, im pretty sure that you are a MORON

  • You replying ot me?

  • NO, im replying to

    jackkempson

  • I don't even know what i wrote, i can't view it anymore. But i'm not a moron. And by looking at what you wrote, i can only assume that you are a boring cynical CUNT.

  • "jackkempson (6 days ago)

Man if that shit works, we're all doomed.

I don't remember agreeing to this!"

    Hope you remembered.

Now go away and do something usefull rather than repliyng to me again.

  • Yes i remember now..

    IT WAS A JOKE.

What part of it made you think i was a moron?

And don't use that copout bullshit man, if you think this type of dicussion is useless the why did you start this arguement?

  • Comment removed

  • i dont understand what they trying to achieve? 6 billion dollars must be somthing important

  • What the piss? I want to see more of the video. He wasn't even done with his sentence.

  • do not take otherwise but i think cast of knowledge increasing day by day and surely we need for a bail out for this giant..

  • $6 000 000 000 budget, I bet the construction company was stoked to have landed that contract. The lighting alone would have cost around $3 000 000. But they probably make all their money back from school excursions.

  • Stupid waste of money, they could have got me a new bike with that money.

  • lol.

  • For all who rated my comment 'poor'. It was a joke k?

  • Jean Getty gave 6 billion to his museum foundation and they live off the interest growth every year. 5% of 6 billion is 300 million. 5% for that amount of money is pretty damn low so I'm sure they make more.

  • That's it? That's all in this vid? WTH?

  • sooo instead of using it for whats more important in the world, they made this colossal piece of horse shit instead. well done

  • Stupid people will never understand the advancement for man.

  • Stfu you idiot! This is pointless!

They can find out all this shit later first use it on science to advance the world then if you want to waste money on this stuff then do it...

  • The LHC isnt pointless you fucking retard

  • lol, so this isn't making science on earth more advanced? You're close-minded.

    pls die.

  • cheeper home made energy could be made, but is represed by government.

  • your right...

  • yeah, most governments are corrupt, like here in the Philippines

  • oh btw... They are not trying to make a black hole...

They want to smash particles which would hopefully prove or disprove the science basic model which is most possible to be true today. Or probably even making things more clear, since we aren't getting anywhere further in science.

Understanding of this things will improve how we look on things, making lots of space for new discoverys.

like with smaller same machines they alredy produce Antimatter which can be used to destroy cancer. open eyes.

  • there using it to to smash particles then understand where we came from and proove the big bang! and if we had free energy then we would end world hunger and poor people....

  • not quite, but still its a good thing to keep us under controll. Think about it ;)

  • wow. you have no idea what its being used for hmm?

  • 6 billion dollars wasted for this bullshit...

  • good vid :)

  • But is it not part of human nature to have an urge to discover more and more about the universe. Is the man made creation called money going to stop such a powerful urge

  • First- Ask China for permission, Second all products have been out sourced to Asia so ask Japan to not just design but manufacture in exchange for research.

Third, build it where it won't blow us up.

  • Anti-matter energy! YAY! that should blow up a planet or 2 ! YAY!

  • How do you build a six Billion dollar machine? " Ask China for Money- duh, of course

  • the world ended

  • yea wat was the results wen they did the test??? i never heard wat happend?

  • There was a problem and they had to postpone it for the winter. I'm sure we'll hear about it when it's back up and running.

  • or we won't hear anything about it cause it'll be too darn late!! lol j/k but umm i'm kinda freaked out about this machine. what if this thing makes the biggest bomb ever or if it makes a huge black hole..jesus H!!

  • Arguing with the willfully ignorant is a fool's errand.

  • many people make up their speechs to sound smart

  • While it seems like Star Trek come to life, at the end of the day when you ask how did this put bread on someone's table or provide a cure for cancer, it's just a really expensive (and pretty useless) toy for evolutionists. It would be one thing if the money came from the evolutionist's pocket but I doubt that. I say useless because I have yet to see Big Bang / evolution "science" projects directly or even indirectly provide any life improving discoveries like penicillin or the light bulb.

  • Lol, you are clueless, evolutionists learn from mutating viruses (like HIV) and this is used to develop better medication.

  • That is a popular myth among evolutionists but developing medications for viruses would belong in the field of biology or genetics not big bang / evolution. I have yet to see one "concrete" example of a project like this actually benefiting humanity. It's an expensive toy for otherwise "useless" speculation.

  • If advancing our understanding of the universe isn't motivation enough for you then you'll never get it. But of course you're mind is closed to science to begin with. You call these physicists 'evolutionists' as if it were a pejorative, and you associate the big bang and evolution, two radically different theories. By phrasing things this way you've outed yourself as having no understanding of science and only arguing out of ignorance and a religious agenda.

  • Big bang and evolution are not radically different, one is linked to the other. Actual;ly I find that it the minds of evolutions that are closed to science. Try telling a group of evolutionists that the founder of DNA. Francis Crick (an evolutionist) wrote a book about why he doubts that life could have happened by chance in some warm pond. I have yet to hear one evolutionist honestly try to grasp the staggering statistical problem Crick very honestly brought up (and was scorned for).

  • I should add that I love science. My point here is that the 6 billion spent on this project, won't put bread on anyone's table or find a cure for cancer. I really admire Thomas Edison who after his invention of an electronic vote counting machine, decided he would only invent things that people really wanted or needed. The Hubble telescope, while it no doubt has taken really pretty pictures of our solar system is not worth the billions they spent on it. How did it make anyone's life better?

  • pretty pictures? it has VASTLY increased our knowledge of the universe and physics. it's not like the earth is short of money, the value's relative anyway, if all projects were funded like this then we would be so far forward by now.

  • sorry i accidentally marked your other comment as spam when i tried to click reply.

crick was also a racist asshole though

  • Ok, first off all, evolution is a part of biology. Second of all big bang has nothing to do with evolution. I assume you are a creationist, what good has creation brought to mankind?

And no developing medication using evolutionary means isn't a myth.

  • Perhaps you you should know that I was an athiest at one time but at the present I know too much about science to continue believing in evolution.

Secondly I know of 5 hospitals in my city alone that were begun by Christians (Catholic / Methodist) but I have never heard of one hospital begun by athiests.

Thirdly, Evolution is not science and never was. Science deals with observable, testable and repeatable. Evolution is none of those.

  • ROFL, most charity-based organisations are run by atheists, ever heard of BILL GATES? Evolution is observable (mutating virusses, anyone?). Big bang and evolution not radically different? WTF, go read some science books before posting stupid shit like that.

  • "most charity-based organisations are run by atheists"

So the 4 catholic hospitals that are local to my city were started and run by atheists? perhaps you had better site your source because it sounds like you do not know what you are talking about and are making it up as you go along.

  • you stupid person. i'm not insulting you, it's just the truth. stupid or ignorant, you're one. evolution IS a part of biology and big-bang is cosmology, not bology. many people have pointed this out so i hope you take heed- creationism has no meaningful use in anything, even if it were true. the only reason creationism is still taken seriously is religion. i mean, we found out the earth's not flat, what reason is there to deny evolution?

  • You're a bigot, you know nothing about me. Evolution is not part of biology, nor is it science. science deals with things that are observable, testable and repeatable. Evolution is none of those things. Speaking about cosmology, have you ever heard of Sir Fred Hoyle? "The notion that not only the biopolymer but the operating program of a living cell could be arrived at by chance in a primordial organic soup here on the Earth is evidently nonsense of a high order."

  • your comment is ridiculous, i'm not getting into a debate with you because nothing constructive will come of it. don't take that as a marker of victory, i'll let anyone else take up the task shall they wish to. but one person rejecting evolution/big-bang doesn't prove anything- i could equally quote, say, einstein proclaming that they are true and both our arguments wouldn't go anywhere.

  • I found your comment to be pretty shallow (now that we are both offended).... Sir Fred Hoyle was well respected (knighted by the queen in 1972) and not so easily dismissed. And he was an evolutionist, (not a creationist) though he did come to believe that the origin of life was too complex to done without a grand designer (an "intelligent" universe). Francis Crick (who discovered DNA) saw the same problem that Hoyle did (life from a warm pond) and received a substantial amount of grief for it.

  • ok, some people have doubts about abiogenesis, which is understandable- it does sound very improbable. but the individual chemical processes that could end up with a living organism are ALL proven, what isn't *yet* known is if these processes all happened, but we are attempting to find out for certain. Sir Fred Hoyle and Francis Crick both certainly contributed greatly to their fields and are respectable but their opinions and doubts don't count until proven properly by scientific method.

  • I wonder if you grasp the statistical gravity of believing random process could produce something extremely complex. Hoyle calculated the odds of getting even a simple DNA to form under random conditions were approximately 1 X 10 to the 40,000 power to one against (a 1 followed by 40,000 zeroes). Crick pointed out that our oceans have a very low concentration of chemicals and the highly probable presence of oxygen (which would oxidize / destroy the proteins necessary for DNA). (continued)

  • ok, first off- it's NOT a random process. the original processes that made the first basic cell were just pure chemistry- i recommend cdk007's videos for an explanation, they helped me understand because, surprisingly, i have had my doubts about it too. also, the oceans back then were PACKED with organic molecules and the oxygen on earth was considerably lower (photosynthesis was, and is, a big part of the modern oxygen level).

  • I include chemical processes amongst random processes. If not, then it implies intelligence. Inanimate molecules can not "shop" for something to make them animate. And although photosynthesis is our major source for O2, is not the only source of O2. Crick (discoverer of DNA) made the point in his book about the worlds oceans having low concentrations of chemicals (it's mostly water). Crick pointed out that any early atmosphere would soon have had appreciable amounts of O2.

  • (continued from earlier post)

Then there is the point that it requires more energy to take each molecule to a higher state. If the source of energy (light, heat, a lightening bolt) required to go to a higher state is truly random then it is far more likely to destroy protein and acid bonds rather than take it a more highly ordered state (Second law of thermodynamics). it's like slamming your fist on a table full of legos and expecting the energy to assemble the legos into a car.

  • see last comment and user "cdk007". believe me when i say this- i am certainly not dogmatic in my belief in abiogenesis (thought i'm 99% certain about evolution). i acknowledge that currently it's only a few hypostheses, but i'd rather see research into verifying/falsifying it than claiming creation which can't be proven by definition. i don't even have a certain opinion on which hypothesis is the most likely and i WILL change my opinion if new [real] evidence appears disputing it.

  • not to mention it's a logical fallacy- appeal to authority.

  • i wonder what they are going to do with all that equipment when they finally realize that this project wont succeed. ......... They should build a roller coaster

  • Look, the Large Hadron Collider i s located in switzerland mainly, costed $6 billion to construct and was tested in september, the reason why they havent updated us yet is they are still trying to find if any new particles have been created, through this experiment. And look, even though Stevan Hawking said there is a chance of a black hole being created, he is telling the truth, but! they are so small they last for a second because they havent got even energy. There is no Armageddon.

  • they had an accident and they r repairing the collider right now idk what happened exactally but they havent goten any of the data they want yet but it wont b long until its running again

  • what can i do with 600 trillion bucks??? ill make a pie as big as asia =]

  • and eat it all yourself?

    I like your style!

  • the particle accelerator is located in switzerland

  • thanks for stating the obvious

  • To create energy

  • the U.S have spent 600 trillion dollars on the iraq/afghanistan war...american government are pathetic...now that baracks here i pray to god he can change the world

  • ya the war was stupid and the gov't screwed up but they didnt spend 600 trillion dollars on it

  • Well... the hadron collider cost 6 billion...

    not 600 trillion.

    600 trillion is this:

    600,000,000,000,000

    6 billion is this:

    6,000,000,000

I do jope you can see your huge error?

  • ya thats a huge mistake

  • ** hope

  • yes they did.

  • YES they ran tests about a year ago.

  • have they tested it yet?

  • I just love the LHC. I mean...it's so awesome.

  • i love the hard-on collider too

  • Yeah it's like....so damn big and hard full of protons ready to just collide....damn.

  • this is how i made my time machine.....! well some thing like this....
