crispiegee1, you are correct about the pronunciation, otherwise you are wrong. It is indeed a transverse v-twin. Transverse means the cylinders are at right angles to the bike. If it was longitudinal, the cylinders would be fore and aft, not across as the are.
@BruceBrown11 The definition of longitudinal is that the crankshaft runs parallel to the vehicle centerline. Transverse means it runs perpendicular to the vehicle centerline. It is not based on what "looks" sideways or what Harley does, it is standard engineering nomenclature. Occasionally, Guzzi's own marketing materials will say transverse simply to satisfy idiots here who think Harley's is the "right" way, but they also say "OHC" which it isn't. Trust me, Guzzi *engineers* know better.
Built in Mondello , on the lake of Como, Italy : beautifull place... land of bikers, hundreds, all around, every week end, sometimes overcrowded and boring...
I agree with Swinkyuk.... Tank range is crucial when ur off the beaten track, and the digital fuel guage sounds dodgy.I may just go for a 1200 breva instead, nice looker though-the Stelvio
Not so much as bulletproof, but you can rebuild them, and still get parts to do so. Though I do know of a couple of Guzzi's with over 200K that have never been rebuilt.
You should still ditch the GS lmao Actually I hope Guzzi offers an extended tank in the future. It doesn't matter at all in Europe, especially the UK (which is why you should take the plunge) it's in vast countries like the USA and Australia where you need a large tank to make heavy long distance work a breeze.
No, the point of the long range tank is that it gives you the option of stopping when you want, not when you have to. I do like the look of this bike, and I'm a fan of Giuzzies but I know I'd regret swapping my 1150 GS...even for a 1200 GS
The commentator sounds just fine to me. He told me what I needed to know without a lot of fancy vocal inflections. He sounds like a down to earth motorcycle guy rather than a slick sounding phony.
nice details on the review.. but if i wer ur employer!? im immediately dire you! u sound like u just woke up and u sound like u wer forced to do this job
Come on, Guzzis are bulletproof. Compare the number of, say, 1975 Eldorados still on the road compared to say the number of Kawasakis from that same year that are still on the road. The Kawasaki's are nearly all gone, rusting away in Boneyards, but the Guzzis are still on the road. Same with BMWs -- old world European shafties are bulletproof.
2.- The cons of the bike are, is that it is a guzzi, I do like guzzi's in there own little be individual way but its just the way theyre put together... with no logic
I own a 1200 Sport, I've ridden it under all conditions (snowy roads included) and I'm extremely happy with it. Unlogical? Not more than the Tuono R that a friend had to sell.
They have logic, it's just not YOUR logic. There is more than one way of doing things, more than one way to live, more than one way to engineer things. Citroen cars used to be really different and really cool. Viva La Difference.

#2 It's not a transverse V-twin, it's longitudinal
#3 Ditto for BMW's longitudinal boxer

Great bike but what's the point of a mile eater like that if the range is so limited? I was tempted away from my GS until I heard that..damn!

rival for the bmw gs or is it more road-based?
