In '94, Rangers beat Hextall & Isles 6-0 in Rd 1, game 1 at MSG. Next night, Hextall was on the bench & caught a puck that popped into the bench. Ranger fans, always classy, gave him an ovation. Great moment and of course, Rangers went on to win The Cup on June 14, 1994. Go Rangers !

@dman6501 Actually, no, he was CREDITED with the first goal, but only because he was the last offensive player to touch it. He did not shoot at the net, it was an own goal, but the NHL credits the goal to the last offensive player to touch it.

Hextall is the first goaltender to shoot for the opponent's net and score.
