This ride is awesome, it's just a shame they never re-built the roof, and that they changed the cars from that cool pattern to what they are now, solid colors with "Whip" on the back of them

@lovinustinks588 If I remember correctly the lady wasn't actually on the ride, but was under the roof either waiting in line or seeking shelter from the storm, when the roof collapsed

@kpdave she was by the building not under it, plus it didn't collapse a piece of roof hit her. The tore it down.

Ya some girl died wen the roof collapsed. my family didnt let me go on that until they said that they werent gonna rebuild the roof

i like the ride but it was better with the roof cause they didnt have to shut the ride down so soon when it rained

I like it with the roof off as well as on. The bad thing about not having the roof on is that it looks really cheesy without it! But I like if off cause I like the sun. But then the seats get hot....blehh. K wood...FTW!

i ride the whip like 2 times in kennywood to maybe 2005 maybe 2006 to 2006 i think 20 or 30times

This ride is way too fast! I got so sick on it. Every time we went around the turns, I would shut my eyes and hold my breath. The G-forces were incredible! I thought it would never end. I hope the new company that bought Kennywood slows this ride down!!

I'm sorry that you were feeling ill after this ride. The ride has been going at this speed ever since I was little (I'm 51 now) and probably for a long time before that. I doubt that the new company will do anything with the speed. They would have to do something physically with the motor or drive system to slow it down since its not computer controlled.

Wow..the ride even looks slower without the whip. Now It really really wouldn't cost THAT MUCH to put a simple replica of the roof back on now would it?! no it wouldn't. Yes they can close the ride when the weather gets that bad, but when it rains it would be perfectly fine to ride

I noticed that the ride moves alot slower without the roof than it did with it. it practically zoomed on the corners.

Not a tornado but a Micro-burst. Very strong downdraft of wind but in a straight line, not like the twisting of a tornado.
