  • Well...it looks like this camara is a little better than my lumix fh20.

  • Excellent job!!! Well done!

  • good photographs, terrible music, low quality video which you should put up a HD one instead.

With photographs involved, I don't think you can call this a film.

  • Nixxer,

The answer is no. Not even close. I was at a workshop sponsored by Nikon Professional Services last night and Frakes showed D90 video and D3s video. It's not even close.

  • Excellent job, man! Can I ask what lenses did you use?

  • Beautifully, especially the sky!

  • @ 4:39 ...NICE

  • These are amazing pictures/videos.

  • just a question here, Is the D3s video quality the same from what you get with the D90?

  • Basically they are pretty much the same. Nikon has worked on some issues like rolling shutter etc. and improved the contrast based AF. The D3s also allows you to manually control aperture, exposure time, ISO, ... when shooting videos.

  • @NikonD6 the same but with a 12800 iso FX sensor :)

  • @NikonD6 The Nikon D300S has a socket for external mike where the D90 hasn't got it and you will record the handling of the camera and even when you focusing around.

Best mike to use on D300s or even the D3s is the Rode mike if yo don't want to fork out the price of a Bose system.....

  • fantastic editing!

  • yeah amazing , nice work

  • meraviglioso *-*

  • im dissapointed he used more still photos then actually testing the potential of the video mode which everyone is more curious about if i wanted to see great pictures i would be looking at a video for the d3x or d3..but from what i see not that bad and it does stand up well against the canon mark IV

  • oh man! Why Santa is just a fake? I wan't this Kamera!

    :-/

  • Wow i am dumbstruck, this photographer is a sheer genius...s. This just shows the advantage of using a dslr for videos the bigger lens collection really lets you compose to your filler wishes. and lack of autofocus in video is not a problem in the hand of a pro this just shows

  • Kodak has reported that its business division that includes digital cameras suffered a 49% fall in sales (compared to the same period last year) in the third quarter of 2009. "Continued declines in consumer spending have had significant impacts in the company's digital camera and digital picture frame businesses," it said. The sales drop has primarily been due to a decline of approximately $157 million in intellectual property royalty revenues, the company said. (17:50 GMT)

  • Brilliant....still photography might even drown with this wave of technology. How things changes so quickly.

  • Bravo Conrad, Bravo

  • Look at that focus follow the ball at 3:53 :O

You can see the DoF moving.

  • Im so fucking tired of all the blocked shadows by nikon.. Its horrible, thank god that ACR is able to unblock them :)

  • Every old d3 felt rip off by the nikon system with the d3s and old features thats new to nikon owners.

  • LOL! @ 1:29 paxtons camera store! HAHA! those guys are affraid of me. if you want a good deal at any camera store in sydney make sure i'm there HAHA

  • why would you go to Perth?

  • Did you even go to Melbourne/Brisbane/Adelaide/Perth? Or just the o-so-wonderful Sydney?

  • sydney wonderful? are you fucking kidding me

    HA!

  • how can they jump that high?

  • hot chicks can do anything :P

  • do they have superpowers?like wonderwoman does?

  • can confirm she was hot when she had those power available to her

  • because they can

  • why can they?

  • Nothing impressive here, could have shot this with a D90 or any HDSLR, particularly as most of the hand-held stuff was post processed with a very slow shutter to mask any horizontal skew. As a still camera I reckon it's the best thing out there, but for video... meh!!

  • please tell me you didnt just judge a camera's performance based on a youtube video? its most likely that the awesome dynamic range, sharpness etc is lost when compressed down to shitty quality for the net.

but i reckon video on any DSLR still sucks.

  • Firstly I wanna say I'm a Nikon fanboy, but I think it's totally lame to showcase a new HDSLR camera's abilities on Youtube, hence my response to this clip, however, my real disappointment comes from the fact Nikon & the producers of this clip are trying to disguise how the camera's imager handles horizontal skew - totally uncool Nikon!!

  • This video proves nothing about the D3s video quality since this isnt uploaded in HD. We cant see if it has any stairstepping, we cant see how sharp it is and we cant see what the bitrate is like.

And also, most of the shots is recorded on a tripod, so we cant really tell if there are any rolling shutter or not.

But what we DO know is that you can film at ISO12800 and that there are like a billion diffrent kinds of lenses for this camera.

That NO other film camera that can do that. ;)

  • it can film at ISO 102,400 :D

  • Nice cinematic feel.

  • It's great, what are you whining about it?

For photojournalist and reportage for whom D3s is made , 720 is more than enough for a fast transmission to the newwork !

  • YOu guys sucks

  • Yeah WHY NOT IN HD ?!?

  • This looks nothing like 720P HD video!

    Not even SD quality!

  • 4:45 - I swear he's the truckie from the Come Play Australia world cup bid ad :)

  • just wondering why it*s not posted in HD... seriously...

  • No kidding. More proof Nikon still has a ways to go with video. I'm quite disappointed with the D3S only having 720p.

  • yeah... definitely! really sucks...

  • impressive
