the real danger here is the inmates behavior.. the CO cant know for sure what the saliva is containing. it may even be blood in it.. waiting months for the AIDS/HEP tests are not funny!! If you get infected the inmates have managed to ruin your life! Safety is first pri.!

spit is considered assault with deadly weapon within the correctional setting due to the fact that over half of the inmates have aids / hepatitis, etc. You can all complain about what happened but at the end of the day, if you worked with these murderers, rapists and child molesters and they assaulted you... you wouldnt think twice about reacting. Remember, these are kids getting beat up by cops. These same people will be the ones robbing, or doing worse to you when they are released.

It is ironic that that nothing (no law, no legislation, not even nobody) has done more to protect human rights than the standard surveillance camera. Amazing. For all of our social evolution over the years, abusing officers everywhere have more to fear from the unflinching view of the run-of-the-mill ceiling camera than anything else. They choose to undergo some degree of risk for their paycheck. They choose to come back to work the next day.
