  • I've been using an app called propmod that enables you to uncap your data. I'll have to wait and see if it actually works once Virgin starts implementing their throttling. I kinda figured Virgin wouldn't get the Marquee. But that's fine I'm running cm7 reloaded on my Triumph and I'm happy with it. Either way the Marquee doesn't really that much new in the way of tech specs except for the oled screen. Also I hated that it's USB port is located on the top of the phone.

  • very interesting

  • Hey how r u doing? I have a question. Which phone is good the HTC wildlife s or the triumph? Because I am think about getting the triumph. What u think?

  • @pellcity2007 depends on if you need GPS. TriumphSlow lock onGPS, not for person uses gps for work. Triumph more future proof, bigger screen, lots more internal memory and tons apps, easier to on screen text ... plus if you can handle loosing the HDMI out there are custom roms that make it even better. Wildfire S it's just a phone and couple apps great camera, syncing software for computer, & you can find thicker 3600 battery on ebay. The better depends on your preference and what is important.

  • Oh very important can Triumph record phone calls without using speaker??

  • @farstarfilm it doesn't come that way. that would be something you would have to customize your self. if I can get around to it I'll see if there is an app that will work with triumph

  • @mstechify um hi mstechify i was making a video with my phone that needs windows movie maker i connected and uploaded my vids and they were pictures and wouldnt go into the maker help

  • @beerbeerman101 if the files were 3gp you may have to convert them first. also do you have codec on your computer for viewing 3gp. goto filehippo (dot) com and get the k-lite codec pack. handbrake is free and will convert those 3gp to mp4 file less issues.

  • nice work .... oh are you using dreamweaver for your vids? Love the way intro and exiting !

  • Usa right?

  • Screws this im getting a blackberry lol

  • NEWS: I was able to call into Virgin Mobile and get a confirmation that there is WORD that Motorola is working on a update for the Motorola Triumph. They said there is no set date of finishing, release, or OS version. Lets hope Motorola follows through. If you do call into VM and ask for yourself you need to specify you are not looking for a current update downloading to the phone but a possible future update... and not the time frame. Be polite and they will take the time to find out.

  • @mstechify Thank you kindly for all the info you have put up on the triumph, I've had mine for a month,I really love it.hope they do give it an update though..

  • @mstechify Awesome!! I'm thinking 3 months,if this actually happens I'm so gonna get a triumph. Once again thanx for keeping us informed.

  • Mstechify I found out that virgen mobile in Canada has the iPhone and the galaxy s 2 an they have 4g

  • @Dudemandoom like I said you have to weed out the Canada search. they are owned by bell and are GSM phones. Virgin Mobile USA is CDMA phone. the companies are not connected in technology or ownership. when bell bought they purchased the rights to keep the name.

  • I actually got the throttle message right before I watched the video

  • I would like to reference anyone who is trying to decide between the Motorola Triumph and the LG Marquee of some good side by side comparison videos with benchmark scores and GPS @ Cha75201 channel. Have put videos in my favorites.

  • Thanks for the video. I just wish VM would release just ONE more phone with a built-in keyboard that has better specs than the Slider. The slider has a horrible touch screen, display and sensitivity wise. It was supposed to be a good upgrade to the V but I've found myself wanting to switch back to the V for the brighter, more crystal display. Not to mention the camera on the slider seems toned down even though it is still the 3.2mp. Here's to hoping though...

  • To be honest the phone in the right looks alot like the samsung conquer 4g on sprint

  • I want to thank every one one this thread. Y'all are a wealth of information.

  • your soft voice is like audible sugar to my ears! I think you are soo sexy!

  • @mstechify thanks for answering my question sweetheart :). and i have a other question, i am thinking about getting a triumph phone, is it stiil good to buy? srry if i am asking alot of questions :) LOL

  • is this data change a bad thing? what u think?

  • @pellcity2007 in reading up on policy differences between boost and Virgin mobile Boost says under section "Our Right To Suspend Or Terminate Services" that if you root or modify your device they can suspend or terminate your account without notice. I am looking but VM doesn't state it that I can find about rooting your device just that if you tether you can. so I think I will deal with the throttle over Boost of which I hear they're customer service is not so great.

  • Those specs suck

  • Awsome video again.:) hey let me ask u a question? Which service has better value virgin or boost mobile? Just asking. Ty

  • @pellcity2007 Boost has the price reduced if you don't miss a payment for several months but only unlimited everything plan. Virgin more for people that may not have the money on time every month or their needs adjust every month and they can switch between minimal min and unlimited. OR they are grandfathered into a 25 a month plan that is hard to beat. currently boost has better selection of phones. actual tower service will be the same they run off sprint towers. but holy shit read on.....

  • @pellcity2007 in looking up policy differences. boost mobile policy says that have the right to disable your account if you root or modify your phone

  • I love how mstechify has all the up to date info thx keep it comming

  • Sadly at 25 a month it really is hard to beat, however simple mobile seems promising, any of you guys like it? I live in the los angeles area,I used to have tmobile and I liked their service for the most part.

  • @maleficus1000 so tempting. Like looking at a buffet do I get more just cause it's there. but I my self have excellent home internet and landline, so for now the 25 a month is just enough. Since I pay for 4 phones it adds up. and cost of more expensive phone and switching over divided up over the months wouldn't make up for it. if VM takes away my 25 a month or caps the data rather then throttle I will be shopping. if just one person and get good deal on GSM phone I would.

  • @mstechify I have a hacked modem which helps my internet,I'm not proud of doing this but internet carriers are are charging waay too much for land lines! To me boost is not an option, virgin still delivers slightly better service than they do,simple mobile with the 5gig plan might deliver cuz u can use a vpn app to bypass their 100mins,maybe even google voice could bypass it. I think simple mobile is the future of prepaid with boost mobile coming second and ghetto pcs coming on third.

  • @mstechify If virgin doesn't get it's act together they will disappear in two years, people care about service but mostly want nice phones, mtro pcs is good example of that ,my experience with them was abyssmal so I switched to virgin and I've been really happy since, but still I look at those phones metro has and drool :( so in short you gotta deliver enough service and sweet phones. As for simple mobile just watch how much they're going to grow in the next 9 months, this will help tmbile

  • @maleficus1000 but also remember that prepaid is no different the renting a home month to month. they can make changes at any time and it is at their discretion you only own the furniture. What is good now might not be later. so must consider that in changing over if you already have equipment of where you are.

  • @mstechify you make a valid point there but also nothing ventured nothing gained, most networks are rolling out upgrades some of these will be passed on to us.I'm really happy that virgin is just going to throttle for now,I must admit the 3g speeds where never that great on virgin but they where consistent at least, virgin really needs a powerful phone fast! The zte won't attract any new subscribers, and will scare off some costumers,if virgin raises my 25 dlr plan I will shop for sure.

  • So can someone please tell me,how is Boost mobiles coverage Vs. Virgin mobiles thru out southern California?I've been looking at them lately. And has anyone heard anything about this new prepaid,Simple mobile? It's I guess run by t-mobile,a MVNO.

  • @oddio95 boost is virgin. same exact coverage just different phones and plans offered. Boost has the price reduced if you don't miss a payment for several months but only unlimited everything plan. Virgin more for people that may not have the money on time every month or need to just get by with what they do have some moths they can aford unlimited other months just the minimal. a few of the phones can flip between paylo and beyond talk pricing

  • @oddio95 simple mobile can transfer any unlocked GSM phone or purchase one of theirs which seem a bit over priced for their age. but if you already have a GSM phone or can pick up a used one the monthly price seems great. and yes it is off Tmobile. the phone must be GSM phone, unlocked, For 3G, make sure your phone supports the 1700Mhz band

  • I believe Sprint is wanting everyone to switch to Boost so they can charge the higher monthly service. Virgin is getting some really retarded and outdated phones lately. And after the EPIC FAIL with the Triumph u would think Virgin would soon after, release an updated or better phone to replace it. But NO, Sprint instead adds more phones to Boost's line up and ignores Virgin. Guys, There are some MUCH better options then either Boost or Virgin. just look into it. Go to Prepaid reviews .com

  • @csy30076 whats weird about virgin is that it does seem to get slightly better service than boost, including speeds as well. At least that's the feed back I've gotten fromboost users,as for virgin phones I agree with you, they are a complete abomination, the slider can hold it's own for sure but still terribly outdated, the triumph is like playing russian rulette you either get a very stable phone or a pice of shit.

  • @maleficus1000 yes but it seems VM knows they are and at least doesn't threaten you for fixing the piece of shit with a custom rom with discontinuing service. I will keep looking for VM on it but for that VM wins. There reason looking into it as I will post more on it soon about rooting and it could become illegal again to root with a suspended law about to go into affect.

  • Thank god I got out of Virgin Mobile. I now have an HTC Amaze 4g on T-Mobile's walmart prepaid plan that is 30$ a month with 5 Gigs of 4G

  • @iHoopX that's awesome monthly price. just looked it up 100 minutes and 5 GB up to 4G speeds. but say that it's exclusive to walmart and tmobile sites and stores only for the price. but isn't HTC Amaze $599.99?

  • @mstechify haha yes but I got it for 400$ off ebay. Very pricey but the phone is top of the line and the internet speeds are just amazing

  • Boost could also put a cap on data.

  • @TheDennismax for now it's a traffic cap and yes as said... in the past sprint has reference both boost and virgin together on the throttling. I think boost is waiting to announce theirs till later since they are just released the Marquee. Wonder if it is to pull people away from their 25 plans.. something stinks. Boost and Virgin don't compete with each other but compliment each other, even in the way they offer phones. never at the same time as other companies would do when they compete.

  • The data cap is outrageous, I mean is not like i reach the 2.5 gb a month but their speeds are already limited I always prefer to use wi fi instead of their slow version of 3G. If they keep on Making Changes Like they recently have, I Switching Companies. Thanks for the info mstechify

  • i like ure drawings :D

  • I have seriously been considering buying the triumph from Amazon.com $229.00 been on the intercept since they first released it.

  • @KennyE1957 it is a good price

  • @KennyE1957, If I were u and I was about to blow $230 for a phone and service I would strongly suggest looking into T-Mobiles Monthly 4G or Page Plus Wireless. With T-Mobile Monthly 4G, U can use ANY T-Mobile phone or unlocked GSM on there Monthly 4G service. So u could buy a Mytouch 4G for example off of craigslist or Ebay and then use it with T-Mobiles network and get 4G speeds were available. U can buy am Mytouch 4G now for like $200-$250 NEW. And that phone is 5 times better then the Triumph

  • @KennyE1957, With Page Plus Wireless, U can also use ANY Verizon phone with them and run on Verizon's 3g network. So for example, U could go to Ebay, Buy an used Motorola Droid X for like $100-$150 and then activate it with Page Plus and have Unlimited Talk, Unlimited Text and 500Mb of Data for $55 a month. U may not get Unlimited Data, But u do get Talk and Text. All on VERIZON's network. Which everyone knows is the best in the country. I am currently using an Optimus V, But not for much longer

  • sprint 4g prepaid will go to boost, not virgin. i guarantee that virgin wont get it, boost has gotten all the better phones, the new zte phones for virgin are garbage, the venture is the zte avail witch is 600mhz gingerbread and 3.5 inch screen. The zte chaser is a crapier version of the already crap samsung restore

  • @cxixmx yes boost has been getting better phones. almost like they are doing this to get rid of the people that are clinging to their 25 a month plan. the processor still is same CPU avail and style Q of msm7227 .... it's shitaki mushrooms.

  • I guess I'm switching to boost mobile!

  • Thank you.

  • bye bye virgin mobile.

  • I am currently on my 13th phone with VM and I'd hate to have to give the company up if my rate goes up. The throttling doesn't bother me considering I get anything CLOSE to 3G speed about 15 minutes any given month. Hell, if the throttling could actually guarantee me near 256k for the rest of the month, I'll burn through the 2.5 gigs as fast as possible. The 190 to 1.5k ping stuff is getting old, but at 25 a month, I can't complain. They raise that, I'll just jump ship... again.

  • Awesome vid and I like they way it was dawn u should make more like this

  • I will stay with them until they raise my rate to 35 a month.

  • @TheDennismax me too

  • Throttled at 256k. LOL!!!!! I max out around that usually, and I work a block away from the nearest tower. Bring it on! I'll still be able to stream Netflix all night at work.

  • Thanks for all the info. If they put out 2.3 for the Triumph and fix the Gps issue, I'd have no problem using this phone for another year or two.

  • @YouEsBeCable I agree

  • @YouEsBeCable I have a custom rom on mine that's 2.3.4 and has a iOS-ish theme.

  • I wish my phone would do 2.5gb in a month.. I can't watch youtube on mine except for from 2am-5am at the lowest usage time. my normal speedtests during normal daytime hours, is usually 1k+ ping 3-10KBytes/second. (highest I've ever seen it was 110kb/s downloads but it didn't last long haha.

  • the Triumph will probably be VM's best phone for another long while, which is fine with me. i just wish they would release some info on updating to 2.3 or even ICS.

  • @xThatGuyZ i am watching the custom rom that people already have ICS booting, yes some bugs to work out as did the 2.3 when they started.
