  • J'adore ce pianiste que j'ai entendu cet été dans le Vaucluse. Il est formidablement doué, discret et tellement unique!

  • Truly a world-class performance from this musically mature 16 year old. Bravo!!!

  • i'm incredulous that you can say this with such sense of certainty. Gould has his way of playing Bach-enjoy that on its own terms instead of comparing it with an outstanding 16 year old.

  • A great master always has a rival... Kit vs Gould!!!

    ... draw ...

  • @NZPiano :-) I think there is no versus because one can hear Kit loves and worships Gould very much :-).His interpretation is extremely near on Gould .

  • Bravo. I'm 15 and i 'm learning this concerto, i hope i will be able to play it as good as he does.

  • @gettoezblaster same. I'm playing it for the Aberdeen young musician of the year and i am really panicking cause it's really tricky...

  • oh wow

  • hi, i have to do this for my grade 8 exam and i think the speed you've chosen is really good. any tips? cheers sarah

  • @pfistersarah1 the best advice I had for this piece during my exam was lifting your fingers high before playing those triplets, just don't be lazy with your finger and finger ... joints? Good luck on your exam!

  • I am an avid listener, not a player. -- Kit, you play beautifully, man. It's not just God's gift of talent, but you have undoubtedly practiced hard to perform Bach so wonderfully. You rock, Kit!

  • this piece makes me wonder if it is possible for me to ever completly reinvent the art of creating music in such a way that could be considered meaningful. Bach sounds like nobody. None of the greats do. How can anyone ever stand next to them?

  • Ja, es ist zwar ein wenig langweilig, aber er ist ich glaube 16. Wie er gerade spielt hat sowieso sehr stark mit seinem Lehrer zu tun.. Also Respekt.

  • how long must one study piano before being able to play this peice?

  • @emma9308 3 years for me before touching this piece, but if you have a supportive teacher, nothing's impossible.!

  • Absolut langweilig

  • You say this is "absolutely boring and without life". Can you give or suggest a better performance? I can't. I also can't tell you what you should like or dislike, but I see that you seem to enjoy trashing and mocking highly-regarded performers and performances. Is that your real point? What good is that?

  • Absolut Langweilich und ohne leben

  • Dommage que la l'intégration soit désactivée ! Nice !

  • Nice neat approach to the LH

  • Fantastic! Incredible!!

  • I am a fan of Kit Armstrong. Such a strong performance!

  • sqiru: FYI Your critcism concerning Kit's uneven tempo only highlights the fact that you know nothing about Baroque style. His "uneven" tempo is an interpretive decision, not something that happens because he doesn't practice enough.with a metronome. Slowing before a cadential arrival point or slowing to project moments of great emotion are two ways all fine musicians use rhythm expressively. Listen to harpsichordists - pianists tend to play squarely. A great artist dances AROUND the beat!

  • I play this too xD

    And i'm 14 *lol*

    But...not so good

    He plays amazing...

  • so clear ! beautiful !

  • Kit Armstrong is among the very, very few human beings to ever be endowed with the intellectual capacity to accomplish such profoundly astounding feats as he has done in his short life. The way his genius manifests itself through music is perhaps, in my opinion, one of the greatest wonders of the human mind.

This Bach, from the hands of Kit Armstrong, is absolutely sublime; more pure, more beautiful than one could ever hope to describe.

  • intimidating thing is...this is just his "hobby."

  • this is *so* good. those ornaments are crystal clear.

  • bravo

  • I think there are no right way to play anything. There are only different ways. So comparing Kit and Gould is like comparing apples and oranges. I think it's very narrow way to look things if there is only one way to play something. You know music isn't just right pedaling, right tempo and stuff. In my opinion both are great.

  • This isn't really a piano-related comment but... the world is in good hands with this guy in it. No sarcasm at all.

  • to say it clearly this is far better than even the Glen Gould version

  • but tempo is uneven, so he can't be better than Gould :) at least now. May be later will be

  • you're comparing a 10 year old to someone who devoted their entire life to Bach...give this little guy some time.

  • I don't get how Kit mastered languages, chemistry, physics etc..graduated highschool at 9 and college at 13 while learning 127 pieces of complicated music by age 15.....

  • He is genius. But that's not really the only answer. I think he uses some kind of methods to learn things faster. Also he must use his time effectively. And I think he have to like those things very much. Otherwise he can't be that good.

  • great Bach.i enjoyed this

  • Really nice!!!!

  • Superbe!!!

  • As always, a truly inspiring perforamnce.
