  • She actually looks like Mrs. Brisby!

No wonder she got the part!

    RIP

  • She looked a lot like Julianne Moore.

  • was watching a patch of blue-am very very sad to hear of her demise at such a young age--what a tradgedy--thx for your post--and tribute

  • @simonmoves And thank you for viewing :)

  • She was also the main voice actor in that underrated movie "The secret of Nimh" Which got pretty high reviews.

  • Any video paying tribute to this wonderful & underrated actress is to be commended. Rest in peace Biff !!!

  • Eerily, the great film critic, Pauline Kael, wondered in an early review of Hartman's work if she would be strong enough to make it in the cut throat movie business. I think Hartman should have won the Best Actress Oscar in 1965.

  • My all time favorite movie is Patch of Blue. Hartman should have won an award for her portrayal of Selina - fabulous actress, who deserved more than she got in life.

  • a patch of blue was one of the best movies ever.

  • Elizabeth called today. She said she loves me and that she wants to bone me.

  • Hey Mike,

    Keep taking the tablets, son.........

  • It says you were sad, weak and depressed, my heart anlmost poped out of my chest. It hurts so much, what do I do? I wish and wish that I only knew. What gave you the nerve, the strength and the might, to leave us all on that tragic night? I will never know but I still cry and ask why oh why did you have to die. We love you so much, at peace may you be, thank you so much for inspireing me.

  • my other comment didnt go through..a patch of blue made me cry..i was 11 when i saw it in 84..my teacher was a black man who showed it to us..he asked me why i cried and i said because it was beautiful..it also reminded me of grwoing up in the south and hearing how people were so rascist..it was hard growing up there..i had to move north to get away from it to gain some santiy...thank god for obama tuesday jan 20th is tomorrow!

  • thank you for the comment.

  • My aunt was a very good friend of Miss Hartman and knew she had suffered from depression but didn't know how bad it was until it was too late. Aside from the depression Miss Hartman struggled with finances, schizophrenia, and believe it or not her own sexuality. (Yes, she was bi-sexual). Anyway, she was a very great lady indeed. Very quiet but also very kind hearted and loving. I never met her but my aunt has plenty pictures with her and it's great to hear how amazing this woman was.

    R.I.P

  • thank you.

  • @lafingtall yes, and I am willing to bet that those finances would have been much better had more males hired her for parts that she was probably more qualified for, but possibly did not get due to not looking like a quote "sex goddess" type. Although Barbra Darling was a very sexy role. as for the schizophrenia, I would be interested in knowing how long she had been dealing with such a diagnosis. Bisexuality can have many definitions.

  • @TheWildswan69 when you say "struggling with bisexuality, I would be interested to know do you mean she was wanting to be with women sexually, but was afraid to explore that due to fear of other peoples opinions? I had never heard about that.

  • Thanks for this. I acted with Miss Hartman in the late 70's, when I was a child, and she was a lovely person who spent a great deal of time talking to me and sharing her thoughts about her (our) craft. I knew even at the time that she struggled with depression, but her talent and goodness always shone through.

  • If you find that idiot let me know

  • ok will do, thanks for the concern.

  • what a heck... I didnt said anything wrong ¡¿why I have received -6?! Brizman ¿do you know if there is any fan club of this lovely actress?

  • It isn't you or any other person saying anything wrong, it is just a prankster because it is nearly every comment on other peoples video's that i did. I have a guess whom it could be, but i'm not too sure.

  • Whoever is putting thumbs down on all my videos comments is immature and very silly to do so. Also is very disrespectful towards such a fine Actress.

  • Listen to "Because Selena's A Girl" is a very good tribute to Elizabeth Hartman, if you love this one, you will love the music, and the singer's voice of the other. If God asked people would you like to have Elizabeth around for 43 years, so her family can enjoy her, and the world to enjoy her in ground breaking films or not at all. This is what Tim Russett of (Meet the Press), son said at his memorial service, and this is how we should see it of her death.A loss if she had not been around at all

  • Truly a beautiful woman and extreamly talented. I just seen A patch of Blue and it was a performance to remember. It's just so sad how her life ended but i know she's found peace.

  • I love this girl, and woman. It is sad that she went at such a young age.

    Love,

    Lyon

  • Thank you for the comment.

  • URGENT!! the grave its on Youngstown,Ohio. I love you Biff...I can´t beleive that some monster touch your grave...

  • did you see the video in the related videos section from this one?

  • Hi FB--Wow! A 19-year-old who knows of Elizabeth Hartman. I saw 'A Patch of Blue' in 1965, the year it came out, and have never forgotten it; she gave a heart-rending performance. I'd be interested to know how you came across this film. Thanks for the tribute. LJ

  • I am a Fan of Bluth films, and after seeing er performance, i wated to see all her films.

  • Sorry for the spelling from the last comment, my baby cousin was fighting for her go on the computer.

  • Thanks for the tribute,it was nicely done.I always thought she was a great actress, and A Patch of Blue was a marvellous film.So sad that she died at only 43.

  • Goodness-I had no idea she committed suicide.

  • @luvsmovies79 didn't know she lived in pittsburgh

  • I agree with you guys...her voice was undescibable. It sounded so...gentle and shy. In my opinion i think It is a voice that can never be imitated of such talent! =)

  • thanx for the comment

  • True She is a unique Actress.

  • I wasn't born yet that year when she committed suicide.

  • 1987? oh,lol.

  • I was born in 1991.

  • oh I see.

  • If I ever have a daughter I would name her Elizabeth

  • It is a very posh name, thanx for commenting.

  • My brother, born in 1988, was named Elizabeth in her honour, and nowadays he fucking hates our parents.......

  • I wish I could have told you something Elizabeth, this world was never meant for one as beatiful as you.

  • I agree, Her voice was the most recognisable i have ever heard in an actress.

  • it's ashame

Elizabeth Hartman + Window = sidewalk paint job

that aside i loved the secret of nimh

    definitely one of my favorites.

  • anon683 -

    Shut up you heartless idiot!

    Anon683 + youtube = stupid comments

  • ladylike1980 + anon683 = petty squabble.......

  • "Nimh" was not a Disney production. Unless maybe you were talking about "Fox and the Hound."

  • oh yes, I was talking to Wardeathfun about the Fox and the Hound. This is my all time favourite Animated film.

  • what... she jumped to death..? :o(

  • She had a condition unknown to the public. Probably because of her dad.

  • Her dad abused her, or something like that.

  • I'd say, that she divorced Gill Dennis after a five year separation two years after her last role and three before her death.

  • Was it, oh. lol.

  • I think I got mixed up with that girl who played Ducky from "The Land Before Time" Judith Barsi.

  • nice tribute.

    thank you for posting it!

  • i remember that film :D the second movie wasnt as good though.

  • Yes, Dick Sebast was the sequel director, The worst part of it i thought was that there was no lip sinc with the actors voices.

  • you are really into animation huh?

  • Well yes, mainly this film though.

  • cool. i like fox and the hound most for some reason >.> childhood reasons probily @_@

  • It is a heartwarming story, one of Disney's most memorable film.

  • agreed.

  • i just love her!

  • she did the voice for mrs. frizby?

  • Yes.

  • Yes she did.

  • great Instrumental !

    what was that ?

BTW well done my friend :)

  • well, I'm not sure. It was a random piece that I picked up.
