  • why hasnt russia used uav's in its army? Isnt it about time? They are at least 20 years behind in UAV technology. A Russian officer admitted they didnt have 1 UAV to use in South Ossetia. They had to use TU-22 Strategic Bomber to conduct reconaissance. That plane got shot down and pilots were killed. What is Russian military thinking? They need to use more uav's, night vision and new missiles. Russian troops were vulnerable as they entered S. Ossetia without any protection!

  • Tu-22 bombed Georgia, it's pilot was captured and lied that he was made reconaissance not to be killed by Georgians. Reconaissance makes by Mig-25 or Mig-31 of Mach 3.2. But not by Tu-22 LOL ))))))

    P.S. Russian stealth UAV bomber:

    watch?v=08CA6k1aFqg

  • It was a Tu-22M3R - a dedicated recon aircraft, not a bomber. Look at the elevation map of the region to understand why this type of an aircraft was needed. No divisional-level UAV would be effective over such terrain. You need to use strategic assets.

  • I am not an expert on this but I dont know if what you said is right. The problem is that Russia has no UAV that can operate at high altitudes and can stay in the sky for a long time. Americans have been using the Predator UAV in Afghanistan. The terrain there is much worse than in Georgia. Am I correct? The most widely UAV in Rus Army is Pchela UAV, and it can only fly for 2 hours and doesnt carry weapons. And plus they didnt even use the Pchela for short range reconaissance.

  • Then again, unlike the Georgians, Taliban doesn't have modern air defenses and so your comparison doesn't work very well. As a recon platform, Tu-22M3R is better than any UAV currently in service anywhere. It is one of the most capable recon aircraft ever created. The bottom line is: Georgian air defenses were completely destroyed from the air within three days. Evidently, Russian recon methods worked quite well, even though they didn't have overpriced toys like Predators or Global Hawks.

  • true. over the 90s the advancement in UAV was lost. soviet union was actually ahead of everyone tenfold, now russia is yearsss behind on uav tech. there are private sector planes but they still need work

  • Russia uses UAVs since 1960s. One of the very first soviet UAVs is Tu-123. Google it if you want. The problem of modern Russian army is not the lack of technologies. The problem is that modern UAVs were developed, but not produced and not in army. As for Tu-22, there is T-22MR, which is manned tactical recon.

  • "alexzar14" - still got your pooper problem, you must remember to change your nappy. lol. and stop eating it, you pooper eater. still trolling across Youtube. shame.

  • stop trolling please.

  • "sovietamerican2" - have you not guessed why youtube exists, for people to comment. if you dont like it, then dont use youtube. i dont mean to offend, but thats why it was designed.

  • its been said the russians dont care about observing other planets which is why no probe is ever sent to distant planets.

  • "Sovietamerican2" - then thats russia's lose, because every-one else wants to get to other planets and look for those new raw resources and new human colonies and then to go beyond, which the USA has alrady sent intersellar satellites out side our solar system gathering important information about how our universe works, leading to new discoveries that can be used on Earth.

  • since the fall of the soviet union russia ended all space exploration. now the countries europe and the united states are the most active in space exploration. now that russia's economy is booming they are planning a mars mission and a joint american-russian moon exploration.i take back what i said before..russians love new resources lol.

  • "Sovietamerican2" - at some point in time, we will have used up all our resources on this planet, so we will need to get them from somewhere else. Russia's planning, is a bit of a joke, as its always in its planning stages. the USA is very active along with ESA, moving well beyond the planning phases into actually doing.

  • ive already told you russia is going to go back to space missions now that they can afford it..like they did in the soviet era.

  • I'm sorry, but due to my experience with Russian propaganda, it gonna have to offer more than just words for me to buy it. You can say anything, you know? I can just say that Russia is planning to field a robot that can transform itself a space shuttle, fly back to earth and transform itself into a car. See how easy it is just to talk! By the way, Russia's economy is booming, but no where near that of China, India, etc. and these countries' GDP(economic measurement) are no where near of the US.

  • you are so god damn stupid XD 200MT are you seriously that retarded XD what the fuck ever man... anything over 70MT is impossible you stupid faggot! and no Russia made the first stealth technology you stupid shit research it dumbass

  • you moron!! russia wanted to see if NASA had actually come up with a good design , but after a few unmanned tests with the Buran shuttle, they realized how stupid and obsolete it was e.g Challeger and Columbia "boom". once again the russians were right.

  • "InkaPeru" - "russia wanted to see if nasa had...." and you actually believe that. and yet Russia uses NASA's crap shuttle to get its parts of the international space station in to space and trains with those NASA. the shuttle is so crap, as you say, its still the only vehicle that is re-usable, something the russia still can not achieve.

  • Russia has its own delivery rockets, in fact after the columbia accident, NASA and the Europeans relied on Russia to get supplies to their astronauts and also get them back to earth safely. When russia launches a rocket they don't tremble and worry down at Russian mission control you know why? cos their rockets are reliable.

  • "InkaPeru" - russian recently failed to get into orbit a germany satellite and another had to be exploded, so every one has problems. NASA and EU do not have astronauts in space currently, so no need to re-supply. typically russian rockets used take structure components in space of international space station. everything else, astronauts, high tech go up in Shuttle. shuttle allows much more flexiablity. there are 3 flyable shuttles.

  • NASA is retiring the shuttle program. It is too problematic.

  • I would also like to see some proof that Russia uses the US shuttle for anything. Our delivery systems are quite capable of bringing our equipment into orbit.

  • "ruskie18" - in recently news, russia is going to miss her delivery of modules for the ISS for 2010. its asking other members for help in achieving delivery for 2015. also russia had 2 failed orbit flights recently, one launching a german satelite, which failed to reach orbit.

  • true. newer developments are coming forward, especially now the lunar base project is set for 2020. in 2 years times most of the shuttle will need expense refits. technology has moved on considerably since then.

  • russia has the most tech advanced space components...and for whatever happened in germany incident was accident like in every tech product in the world.

  • "sovietamerican2" - russia may have very good rockets, which the USA do use from time to time, the USA leads in its space technology. Russia has never successfully copied the shuttle. although the space shuttle is being retired in 2010, in 2013 a new design will be ready for launch, probably a Lockheed design. the USA space program has active missions not only to the moon, but mars amongst many other planets. all russia does is a good talk, very little action.

  • usa doesnt lead in space technology....their up there with the russians and european union. and for the record nasa rely too much on russian space technology. and what active mission???sending probes out to space lol. their all observatory missions keeping humans at a distance. and there was no mission to the moon lol.russia and usa are going to join in the future for a moon mission.

  • "sovietamerican2" - well the first of 4 USA missions to the moon, LRO 2008, LPRP (robotic spacespace) in 2009, GRAIL mission in 2011, LADEE in 2011, all by the NASA.

you've had the MRO around Mars, with the Mars Scount mission in 2013 and in 2018 nad this is not forgetting numerous other recent missions since 2000. there are also 28 active missions with ESA. all leading to both manned missions to the moon and then mars. i can that pretty active and just more than talk. russia is not involved.

  • No. You lie.

  • It was in hitlers mind and also in the minds of the german scientists that came over to help us develop it...

  • are you honestly that damn retarded??? XD

dude russia MADE THE FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE you fucking jackass NASA copied russia and so did the US military because guess what... not only did russian fly the world first UAV the TU-141... but russia also invented stealth jackass... american copies russia dumbshit XD

and yeah sure we stole nuke tech. from you right ;) whatever dumbass even though we made the biggest nuclear weapon ever made!

  • "bittemeinrammstein" - really, so russia flow the first UAV, the Tu-141, back in 1970. well for your info, the flow the first radio controlled pilot-less vehicle back in 1930's, the "De Havilland 82B Queen Bee (Drone)". it was in 1960, the USA flow the first UAV piloted using video camera tech to watch the Vietnese and monitor SAM sites. you should really do some more research before posting.

  • Ok, be proud of this. You made the first bomb and you are the only nation that used it to kill hundreds of thousands of civillians. Be proud of this if you have nothing more. And we were the first to use nuclear energy in peaceful purposes. We were first in space. So don't be stupid, open your eyes and read some books, don't watch anglo-saxon TV propaganda all the time;)

  • And you stole nuclear technologies from Germans.

How do you think why all planes look rather similar? They used to have two wings, one tail, engine and so on. Why are they look similar?

We have no space shuttle now. It is too expensive and too dangerous. People die in shuttles too often.

  • dude your a fucking idiot russia deployed and invented the worlds first unmanned aircraft you stupid idiot

    america copies russia fag

  • Fuck U.
