@uBenDovar Actually, NASA had no hand in the development of the space pen. Ballpoint pens are gravity fed, which means they need to be facing tip-down to work properly.

@KingLoop13 It can write underwater, so it is fairly waterproof. You would still want to dry it off though after doing so.

@larvc The casings are real but there is absolutely no functionality remaining in the bullet. We've been able to ship these to Singapore, who have notoriously strict regulations.

Hmm, how come rumors make top comments and the truth can't? Both Russians AND Americans used the pencil until it was deemed unsafe do to floating led and sharpeners. A private pen company, named Fisher, invested his own hard earned cash to make it. It is today used by the Americans AND Russians.
