Germany deserved it more than anyone and it's really a shame that the golden boot winner Thomas Muller was suspended for that match because you really noticed his absence. Germany's offensive chemistry was totally off without him and no one was making the runs that Muller does. I'm Dutch so maybe I'm prejudiced, but I think Holland deserved to win because it was already the third time they were in the final. I can understand that they wanted to win so badly they did some very wrong things. I was very disappointed when they lost but they didn't play as good as in the other games. I think that both of the teams were equal and Holland just wanted to win too bad.

Why is every one so adamant about De Jong's tackle (I agree, he deserved red), but no one is mentioning when Iniesta flopped when Van Bommel challenged him because he was trying to make Van Bommel get his second yellow card, and then when the ref didn't call it, he got up and tripped Van Bommel purposefully, but the ref wasn't looking.

The first one went off of the goalie's pinky toe, the second chance he gets, Puyol pulls a windmill-goal-saving-spinning-tackle on Robben and the ref doesn't call anything. No no no, The dutch deserve to win, Im with spain and i still think the dutch should have won. Robben shuda scored 2 times, and our center back and iniesta should have gotten red cards, But De Jong should have gotter a red card too.. And The dutch center back shouldnt have gotten a red card. The Dutch did play a better tournament.. this is true. But spain is just a TOUGH team to beat and with there dominant possession it can aggrevaite any team to do things like DE Jong.

@tsusajop I don't know about you, but I think the Dutch played dirty with lots of intentional fouls (though Spain did play some diving).
Robben had 2 golden chances, yes; but chances don't spell out wins unless you actually score from the chances. I guess the finals atmosphere got the better of him. he didn't put the ball behind the line, he doesn't score.
Jon Heitinga the Center Back actually should've gotten a red card. he is an unforgiving defender and even in Everton he gets cards regularly

Why is every one so adamant about De Jong's tackle (I agree, he deserved red), but no one is mentioning when Iniesta flopped when Van Bommel challenged him because he was trying to make Van Bommel get his second yellow card, and then when the ref didn't call it, he got up and tripped Van Bommel purposefully, but the ref wasn't looking.

I agree that the best team won, but Holland had two good chances by Robben that should have both been goals. The first one went off of the goalie's pinky toe, the second chance he gets, Puyol pulls a windmill-goal-saving-spinning-tackle on Robben and the ref doesn't call anything. I'm just saying that Holland deserved to be in the finals and could have easily won the game.

For any of those people who think Spain paid for this victory, or somehow fixed it, you're all sore losers/winners. What makes you think that Spain believed that they couldn't win this? They have some of the world's best players and know how to work as a team. They wouldn't pay for something they believed in.
Same for the Dutch, they believed they were able to go all the way, they wouldn't pay for it.

All i'm saying is that it's easy to yell and shout and scream towards the Dutch and say they suck and fail etc. I agree on the final match 2010 being a severe disgrace. But it's bullshit to say they suck. They made it to the Finals three times beating ALL the other participants. I wouldnt say that means they suck. I'd say they simply aren't the #1 soccer team. Spain fairly won, even though I supported Holland I warmly clap my hands for the Spanish victory.

Webb's judgement on several tackles and happenings honestly unfair. Everyone in the whole wide world saw the ball hitting the Spanish wall and dodged it so it'd be a corner kick. Yet he still counted it as a Goal kick. For an International, World Cup match such a matter shouldnt even occur. Same counts for giving De Jong a yellow instead of a red card. And yet im not hearing ANY fair Spanish comments on how the free kick was wrong. Because yea, it's easy to moan on another team isn't it?=l

Even though I have dutch as much as Spanish blood I have to admit that neither side played fairly. And reading so many pathetic hate comments also made me realize what a lack of soccer knowledge there is involved.
The Netherlands soccer behaviour was beyond disgraceful, but i cannot say that the Spanish played nice either; Puyols tackle was simply stupid.
Yes, I agree you can't blame the referee on the Spanish victory, but he did play a very important role.
