car manufacturers do this on purpose... they make their gas alternative vehicles hideously ugly and ridiculously overpriced just to turn people away from them and continue driving petrol powered cars.

Its very obvious that they dont have plans to manufacture or sell these hideous cars, they just want people to think they are trying so they look like the good guys compared to GM.
