Thanks to yout tutorial, I acheived this kick tonight. At the tender age of... well, I'll be 40 by the end of the year! Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this up - it really helped, and it taught me how to do it! I did about 40, and maybe ten were spot on - so, pretty good for a first try! So, basically, a cross between a butterfly kick and a 360 lotus - I can do both of those, and I think I'll be able to do this. Thanks ever so much - cracking idea, well explained, and it doesn't look all that beyond my capability. Thanks taking the time to be a help!

why it's called illusion twist?

If you watch a wushu 'jian' or straight sword form, you see a standing illusion kick - or, if you watch wushu eagle, you may see an illusion kick, and a standing split which is basically an illusion kick doen the other way, but held as a split. Basically, drop all the torso and lift the leg round in a kind of circular split, sometimes called a wheel kick., similar to the capoeira drop hook kick, but vertical. Add a twist - illusion twist!

its an illusion twist. they're closely related tho. you see..an illusion twist gives the illusion of a twist..its really like a laid back pop 360 hyper.

the shuriken twist is a full twist where you crescent out of the btwist. i hope that cleared things up. if you want, i could make an exampler on that as well :P

The "Illusion" has the legs at a 90 degree angle in relation to one another. The butterfly twist has the legs much closer if not together.

An illusion kick and illusion twist are two different names for the same thing. It technically isn't a twist, it's a kick, it just gives the "illusion" of twisting.

A butterfly actually twists.
